You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Leeda is a sweet sweet soul.  She absolutely LOVES the outside!!!  She is content to wander around the fields all day long!  She would be perfect for someone who has a large fenced yard where she can roam to her hearts content.  She loves people!RequirementsLarge Fenced YardVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 2, 2024, 7:55 pm

Bailey is a sweetheart, just very hyper and needs lots of room to run. She is very smart, and learns commands fast. Her only issue is she thinks she is a small dog and is friendly with everyone.

Story
ATTENTION All lab lovers: Hank is a perfect 4 month old charcoal Labrador retriever. He was surrendered to us from a commercial breeder when he did not sell. He is the happiest little guy. He is definitely a lover. He is already 45 pounds and known as Hank the Tank. All toys are his best friend. He can content himself with toys or happily play fetch. He currently lives with one foster sibling. When his fur sibling gets too hyper he tends to hang back. He would do well as an only child or with a more laid back sibling. He has been around young children and was very good. Being a puppy he can be a little mouthy, and the adopting family should be prepared to work with him on normal puppy tendencies. He has not been with cats but can be cat tested if needed. When riding in the car he is quiet and has not gotten sick. He sleeps in the crate all night. If he needs to be in during the day he does ok; he will complain a short time before settling down. Potty training, Simple commands, and leash training are also going well. A fenced yard would be great but not required. What is required is someone with lots of time to go on walks, love to share and to continue training for this guy to live his best life. Hank is UTD on vaccine for his age. He is microchipped and has been on flea/tick/heartworm prevention since coming into the rescue. Due to his young age, adoption will be with a neuter contract. Adoption fee plus a $250.00 refundable deposit with proof of neuter. If you think you are the right family for Hank the Tank, and you're ready for all the puppy antics and willing to continue all training, apply today at: http://www.zoeshouserescue.com
