Story
Jayce is ready for a life of porch-sitting and sweet, lazy morning snuggles in bed. Jayce is a dog people fall in love with, and fall in love hard. He has the personality of an old friend- funny, familiar and easy to spend hours with. Jayce has a very expressive face that makes him easy to connect with, he’s one of those dogs that just immediately feels like a member of the family. His foster mom says one of his best qualities is how devoted to his people, and we say one of his best qualities is how devoted his people become to him. He’s so incredibly engaged and present with his humans, so lovable and full of personality. Jayce embodies love and loyalty, if you’re looking for a best friend, he’s your guy. Jayce is the ultimate companion dog, he’s affectionate with his family, communicative and expressive, funny and silly, an avid fetch player and such a smart boy. We believe Jayce is a Labrador, American Pit Bull Terrier mix, but he is a rescue, so his exact age and breed cannot be guaranteed. He currently tips the scales at a soft and snuggly 80 pounds, fully grown at an estimated 3 years old. Despite how loving he is with his people, Jayce promises to never pull your arm off looking for love from a stranger. He’s very “human” about his interpersonal relationships, he knows how weird it would be for a human to kiss their neighbor on the mouth, so he acts accordingly. Jayce will take a moment to get to know you before professing his love, but… psst- don’t tell him we told you this- Jayce’s heart is easily won with Pupperoni, and gentle soft voices. He bonds with his people through training and leash walking as well, making further training not only enjoyable and practically rewarding, but incredibly emotionally rewarding too. With other dogs, Jayce is similarly “human” in his interactions. He prefers to get to know them a bit before becoming his silliest and most playful self. In his foster home, he enjoys the company of two larger male dogs, he gets along well with them and even snuggles with them on the couch. Jayce is also an incredibly intelligent dog. He knows how to auto-sit for treats, he knows how to “puppy-dog-eye” his way into all night snuggles. He responds so well to positive reinforcement, and we believe you could do just about anything with this dog because of it. Want a “hobby dog” to teach off-leash skills, agility or party tricks? Jayce would love to learn, and he’ll love you all the more for it. Unlike most highly-trainable dogs, Jayce’s intellect does not come with high energy. He has a wonderfully balanced energy that allows him to be content just calmly hanging out. Jayce can be very lively and playful at times but also a calm cuddle bug that just wants to lay on the couch with you watching movies all day. He loves being near his people and his foster parents occasionally let him sleep in bed with them. On the nights that he does get to sleep with them, he likes to snuggle right up with you, rest his head on your pillow and look up at you until he falls asleep. Jayce loves to be outdoors as well. If you find yourself in the garage tinkering often, Jayce would love to watch you work. Jayce is still working on his leash manners, but with polishing and practice, he would make an excellent hiking or walking companion. He has the confidence for the most treacherous hikes, a vital skill for a hiking companion, and he never tires of being outdoors. A testament to Jayce’s confidence: fireworks don’t faze him! His foster dad was so impressed with us that he let us know after their Fourth of July together. He loves water too, he gets so excited for the doggy pool. We could see this handsome fella enjoying lake house life, or long weekend campouts on the river. Jayce is an easy to love dog. He has great house manners, his foster reports that he’s potty trained, and he’s very respectful of furniture. He is a bit more introverted than most, and would love to live in a quiet home. Jayce’s ideal pawrents are child-free, and lead a quiet and simple life, with gratitude for the small moments of joy, like belly-rub-time and slow walks around the neighborhood. We believe Jayce would prefer a home in a suburban or rural area, a house over an apartment. Jayce would be happiest in a home with no kitties, and no pushy, persistently playful dogs. Jayce could live with mellow dogs that understand his balanced energy level. We recommend slow introductions and lots of decompression time for Jayce, but he comes well-equipped with excellent crate skills to support these needs. Jayce is ready to come home to you. He’s worth every bit of slowness, mindfulness and attention he will require in your first weeks together, he will surely repay you with lifelong loyalty and friendship. We are willing to test Jayce with anything you need us to in order to ensure he is the perfect match for you. We can make most anything happen, just let us know. Story
The innocence and sweetness that radiates from Sandy is the reason why you should adopt her. We immediately fell in love with her and her gentle soul. She has the type of eyes that look into your soul and instantly make you melt. Sandy loves affection, quiet in nature and she is so gentle to. She does take some time to warm up to new people but once she does you’ll find yourself a loyal best friend. She shows her affection by subtly leaning in or taking a teeny tiny step closer to her person for love. Sandy is the definition of love and she has so much of it she wants to share. Watch her video and you'll see her gentle soul radiate from the screen: https://youtu.be/qZViPpTEe90?si=gGNglg2YAnockPe- Sandy has a calm demeanor and does amazing with all dogs. She has a gentle play style and naturally matches the energy of her canine companions, whether they’re rambunctious or relaxed. Having another dog in the home is a must and it helps build her confidence, so she’ll do best in a home with at least one other dog. She’s still working on building her confidence and will require a patient family who can give her time to adjust to her new surroundings. A secure, fenced yard is a must to ensure she has a safe space to explore as she settles into her new life. This sweet girl is fully crate-trained but enjoys sleeping in bed with her fosters. She’s also 100% potty-trained and hasn’t had a single accident while in foster care, which is super impressive for how long she lived outside. Sandy absolutely lives for her daily walks, where her gentle and easy-going nature truly shines. She loves getting out to explore, strolling calmly on a leash and remaining completely non-reactive to squirrels, bunnies, and other distractions. Walks with her are so easy and a joy! She also does great on short car rides, and loves heading out to walk around the local lake. She currently lives with a family that includes two teenagers, a resident dog, and a steady stream of foster pups ranging from six-week-old puppies to dogs as large as 70 lbs. She’s also cat-tolerant and has shown remarkable patience and adaptability with every animal she meets. While she isn’t overly treat-motivated (yes, she’ll even turn down steak!), Sandy has one irresistible weakness: Colby Jack cheese. She simply can’t resist it! Her fosters use it as a treat and also wrap her monthly flea medicine with it. Another endearing trait? She’s incredibly quiet and rarely barks, making her the perfect companion for a peaceful home. Sandy loves affection, but on her own terms. She’ll let you know when she wants attention with slow movements, and enjoys chin scratches, head rubs, and chest massages. She’s just the right mix of affection… not super needy or in your business all the time, but also not apathetic or needing to be left alone. She just wants to connect in her own calm, sweet way. Sandy is a calm and gentle pup, but sudden movements can make her a bit skittish, so she’d do best in a home with older, respectful kids who can give her the space she needs to feel secure. Her ideal family will be patient and willing to give her the time she needs to adjust, while also providing a stable and supportive environment to help her continue building her confidence. If you’re looking for a gentle, sweet, and loyal dog who’s ready to share her heart, Sandy is the one for you. Apply today and start your journey together! Story
Meet Larson! He is currently 3 months old, and we think he may be a Labrador Retriever / German Shepherd mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Watch Larson's video here: https://youtu.be/lwGKHKGPYAk?si=XI8qgXfWfFNqzC34 and here: https://youtu.be/XkXlOhBJrD8 Larson is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. He loves to play with all of his siblings and then take lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat - such is puppy life! Larson is still young so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Larson's new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/67b011f354ee802c870f4081 Please email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Available for adoption in NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $900.00 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Story
Mystic is a magical little low-riding forever puppy! Believe it or not, we estimate her age to be around two, but those puppyish good looks and happy puppy playstyle aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Fall in love with Mystic here: https://youtu.be/_Gr-S0cb_WM?feature=shared We think Mystic is a Lab, Pittie mix, but she is a rescue so these are simply our best guesses. She is currently fostered in a loving home, with multiple other doggies ranging in size from teeny tiny chiweenie to big bully breeds. She gets along just wonderfully with everyone, and has even spent some time in a boarding facility where she would participate in small playgroups. Here at the rescue, she was great with all of our other dogs, playful, bouncy and fun-loving. She can “just chill” with other dogs too, and enjoys her time lounging and co-sniffing with her foster siblings. She’s a dog lovers dream, friendly with all she meets, and we think she would be happiest in a forever home with a medium energy male doggy-sibling. One thing Mystic tells us we have to include- she’s a total toy lover! Stock up on stuffies and chew toys in anticipation of her arrival, this girl needs them. Her favorite toy is a big stuffed lamb chop that she’ll carry around on occasion- it’s simply too cute! Her foster mom says she’s a great fetch player as well, and loves ball! In her foster home, Mystic has been stealing hearts and making a name for herself- “best foster dog ever!!!” She’s so lovable, with her little bunny hops and her great sense of humor. She’s a total snugglebug too, as if she could get any sweeter. She loves to sit on your lap, and loves affection. She gives the sweetest little kisses, and her eyes seem to light up when you’re scratching just the right spot. Her foster mom brags that she’s good in her crate as well, and sleeps there overnight. Treats? She loves them! She’s a super gentle treat taker and food motivated, which will make further training enjoyable and rewarding for both of you. Mystic is a super fast learner, she already knows “sit” and she’s working on her leash walking skills as we speak! She’s an eager to please girl that’s always happy to learn. Sweet Mystic is ready for her forever home. We think she would be happier in a house over an apartment. While we haven’t seen her with kids just yet, we believe she would do well as a family dog. We do not recommend Mystic for a home with kitties. Mystic will require a dedicated adopter committed to following our standard decompression protocol. We are willing to test Mystic with anything you need us to in order to ensure she is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. **Fostered in Washougal, WA and ready for meet and greets!** Meet Gizmo! He is currently 5 months old, ~15 lbs, and we think he may be a Black Labrador Retriever / Chihuahua mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! Based on his age and weight, we think he's only going to be around 30 lbs when full grown, the perfect size to take everywhere! Watch Gizmo's video here: https://youtu.be/IqkFZzrhF1Y Gizmo is a smart boy who is already crate trained and potty trained. She sleep quietly in his crate all night. He loves to be by your side, but is respectful and doesn't climb all over you. He is currently fostered in a home with cats and has been respectful of them. He enjoys spending time with other dogs too and would do well in a home with other dogs, or as a solo dog. Gizmo is a little bit shy at first, but warms up quickly. He won't do well in a busy urban neighborhood, but he will thrive in a quiet suburban neighborhood where he gets to explore on walks, hikes, or going to the dog-friendly cafe for a snack. Gizmo is still young so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Don't miss out on this little cutie, apply below!
His adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below, would be more than happy to answer any specific questions you may have about Jayce. Alayna, a director at 3LP, has kindly placed her phone number at the below as well, if you would like to chat over the phone!
This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Watch Spring's video here: Spring is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. She loves to play with all of her siblings and then take lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat - such is puppy life! Spring is still young so she will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Her new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. Story
Meet Bentley, he loves walks, laying in the garden, and will sit at your feet while staring warmly into your eyes. To me he has a sunshine face, you know the type- the ones that practically glow. This face of his, plus his happy, friendly goofy way is a big part of why we believe he may be part lab. Of course in rescue we cannot know a dogs breed with a 100% confidence but look at Bentley and tell me he doesn’t have the looks and presence of a lab. One look at his sunshine face and those sparkling eyes and you’ll know where we see lab, but just in case there is a doubt, we will call him a lab-mix. Take a look at all of his mellow sweetness and charming presence here then come back to read more about Bentley. https://youtu.be/4vv2ci6Vs0M Bentley is estimated to be just over 2 y/o, he weighs 54 lbs and is fully grown. Age along with breed are details we cannot offer with a 100% certainty given he is a rescue but our medical team is experienced in aging dogs based on a variety of consistent factors. His mellow presence alone tells us he is past the puppy days and into his couch companion era. He is a great age for learning and comes with a great pre-set number of skills. Our favorite is his auto-sit! That means when he comes up to you or any one else, he will automatically sit and hit you with those big ol’ eyes and that sweet face of his. In addition to being friendly, smart, and good-company, he is also great with other dogs. Bentley is so fortunate and is being fostered in a dedicated, multi-pet home where he has impressed everyone with the ease he settled into the routine in their home. On top of giving Bentley an opportunity to practice all his best house manners and good-boy skills, being fostered gives us a front row seat to who he is as a house dog and part of a pack. Bentley lives with 7 other dogs, spanning the full range of sizes and ages. From pack walks to everyday time in the yard together while their foster mom gardens, he proved to feel at ease in a pack and was an easy addition. We introduced Bentley to a handful of new dogs to get a feel for his approach to new dogs and his playstyle. He took things slow with each dog, letting them approach him and preferring to keep interactions short initially. If you are looking for a canine companion for your current pet, Bentley is perfectly suited for an easy-going playmate who will let him take his time to open up. A very bouncy, eager friend would be a bit too much for Bentley. His slow and steady approach to life can come across as shy but it isn’t truly a shyness, just a slower pace. If given the chance to be an only dog I do not think Bentley would mind one bit! Your love and affection, regular walks, and a few good toys is his ideal of heaven. Bentley truly has a love for laying in the garden and soaking up the sun and smells, so a home with a yard would be his dream but apartment living with access to open space or a small patio for an occasional nap would be perfect as well. He will benefit from continued practice with his on-leash skills, his pace and presence are great, but continued exposure to new environments and social situations will help build on the beautiful base he already has. Bentley is a classic, good-boy with best-friend energy and a guarantee of loyal companionship. Plus, he is about as cute as they come, in case you didn’t notice. This boy will not be available for long so If you are ready to make the first move- apply! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/67ec09aa6c76c3e8500aef49 If you have any questions please email elizabethbower@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport. DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics, and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake.
