Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue puppies come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Even very young puppies require significant guidance and supervision to properly learn how to navigate life in a home environment. Because of this, adopters should be prepared for: Potty training and accidents Teething and chewing stages Crate training and leash training Nighttime wakeups and supervision Ongoing socialization and structure The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, basic structure, and socialization, adopters should expect to continue training and support after adoption. Snowy will need: Positive reinforcement training Frequent potty breaks and supervision Patience and consistency Daily routine and structure Continued socialization and exposure Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, structure, and love, puppies like Snowy grow into wonderful lifelong companions. Because Snowy is still young, adopters should also be prepared for the normal puppy phases that come with growing and learning, including chewing, teething, accidents, and continued social development. Snowy is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
