Story
Introducing Hercules the Hero! Hercules is a 2–3-year-old purebred Red Maine Coon. Hercules has had a tough life. Used as a breeder, likely caged most of his life, then tossed outside like garbage, this poor boy still loves people. He is a bit shyer than the other Maine Coons but is coming around quickly. He is a bit food protective (not necessarily aggressive), and he loves his food. He is very food motivated and would be easily trained using treats. Hercules gets along with other cats (other than at eating times), but he would happily be an only cat as well. A bit smaller than some of the others, he still has the distinctive Maine Coon ear tufts and face. If you are interested in adopting Hercules, please email us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com for an application. He is in a foster home in Ennis, Texas. His adoption fee is $650. Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states. Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption. All cats are considered mixed breeds unless otherwise stated. As a rescue, we often don’t know a cat’s origins, and do our best to guesstimate their breed. This is not a guarantee. We do get purebreds from time to time and that will be stated in their description if known. Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you email us, we will provide you with an application via email.

Story
Charlemagne (Maine Coon, purebred) Charlemagne is a stunning 3-year-old purebred Maine Coon. He has had a rough life as a breeder being in a cage and then dumped outside. Poor boy has not had much of a chance at socialization, but he has learned in his foster home that people are awesome since they give food. He is very good motivated. He needs a quieter home, no small children, with a young cat companion. He must go home under our Companion Cat Policy. He must go to a home with another young cat or be adopted into a home already housing a young cat, under the age of 4. No exceptions. If you are interested in adopting this kitty, please email us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com for an application. He is in a foster home in Ennis, Texas. His adoption fee is $650. Persephone Introducing Persephone! Persephone is a 3-year-old Purebred Tortie Maine Coon with green eyes. She has had a rough life as a breeder being in a cage and then dumped outside. Poor girl has not had much of a chance at socialization, but she has learned in her foster home that people are awesome since they give yummy food. She is very food motivated. She is very shy and will need a patient home where the person will spend a lot of time with her. She needs a quiet home, no small children. No dogs. She would be happier as an only cat, though she eventually tolerates other cats. We will give a preference to an only cat home. If you are interested in adopting this kitty, please email us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com for an application. She is in a foster home in Ennis, Texas. Her adoption fee is $650. Story
Hello! My Ms Greyzie is a special cat in a way. She is very laid back and calm and stays to herself but will let you know when she wants attention. Her MEOW is very low and hardly heard. Her previous background (previous owner) had to leave her alone often so she is a loner and takes time to get use to new surroundings and she is not a lap cat or a cuddle bug but does enjoy to be petted and brushed on her terms. She currently shares her space with my other cat and though she accepts him she does not engage with him much and keeps her distance. She does well with my grandkids and tolerates them but will eventually go to her own space and does not like to be bothered. Ms Greyzie would make a great companion for an older person environment and does not require much attention or upkeep. She is perfect for me but due to my health I can no longer care for her. She is a Main Coon mix.

Story
Bitty is the sweetest cat. We adopted her from PetSmart when she was a kitten around 6 or 7 years ago. She is the friendliest and kindest cat I have ever met with both children and adults. Unfortunately Bitty was born with IBS which we have tried to manage and put up with this whole time because she is so sweet. Unfortunately, due to our busy schedules and we now have a little one in the house who is going to start crawling soon... we can no longer have Bitty here. She is an extremely petite cat that weighs an average of only 6.2lbs. We've taken her to the vets to continue to try and fix her condition and her bloodwork comes back normal. She has a huge appetite and drinks lots of water. The only issue is, she poops outside her litter box with inconsistent stools about 50% of the time. (Just poop, she always pees in her box) We want to make sure she finds the right home as she is the sweetest and we really love her which is why the adoption fee is $0.

Story
Lyla is a beautiful mature Tortoiseshell Maine Coon mix female born approximately 8/26/2015. She has the most gorgeous eyes! Lyla was originally rescued by NBCR after being born to a pregnant stray that was turned into a local animal shelter. The mom was about to be euthanized, but thankfully we were able to pull her and the babies and find them loving homes. Sadly, Lyla's family is now moving to the Middle East and are not able to take her with them. She was recently returned to us in the hope that we can find her another loving home in which to live out the rest of her golden years. Meet Lyla – A True Dark Beauty Hi, I'm Lyla! My name means "dark beauty," and I think it suits me perfectly—with my luxurious, long fur and gentle spirit. I’m a quiet, well-mannered lady who enjoys the finer things in life—like a good brushing to keep my fluffy coat in top form and a sunny window or back porch for my daily sunbathing sessions.  During the day, I’m happy to lounge on my cat tree (which I love!) or engage in a little play session (I'm pretty playful for my age!) I am a pretty independent kitty and can keep myself entertained. When night falls, I may quietly slip into bed for a quick snuggle and some gentle scritches. I absolutely adore head rubs and will politely request them from just about anyone—even new people! I’ve lived with other cats and done well, though I’m still undecided about dogs. I’d likely be happiest in a calm home with older children who respect my space and affection on my terms. Fluffy like cotton and sweet as can be, I’m a loving companion with a heart full of warmth and a purr ready for the right person. If you're looking for a peaceful, affectionate feline friend, I just might be your girl. Lyla is microchipped and currently in a foster home. Her adoption fee is $105.July 3, 2025, 12:15 pm
