Meet Mr. Darcy a Maine Coon mix born mid May 2022. He is a spirited and affectionate floofball who adores climbing. Mr. Darcy was previously adopted to a loving home, where he thrived alongside other cats but felt overwhelmed by energetic dogs. Mr. Darcy aka Max is a chatty, playful companion who craves head scratches and ear rubs. He enjoys feline company, toys, playtime, and climbing adventures but would prefer a home with calm dogs or none at all. Meet Olive! Olive is a sweet and gorgeous girl born in 2018. Olive was surrendered by her owners after kids came along Olive spent her days hiding in fear of the noise and chaos. They felt she would do better with a calmer home. Olive is shy at first and very sweet. She will need a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to relax. She is playful and likes cat nip, to chase feathered wand toys, and to hang out in her tunnel. She does well with other cats when properly introduced and has excellent litter manners. Purry Mason is a curious little kitten with the cutest, most inquisitive face and a zest for playtime and exploration. This fluffy boy started his life out on the mean streets and was found and brought inside by his foster family as a teeny two week old baby. They quickly discovered how much Purry loves to eat, and with lots of TLC, he graduated from bottle feeding to eating kitten food on his own and he hasn't stopped thriving since!Purry's hobbies include climbing, romping, jumping, chasing toys, meeting new friends, and being professionally adorable. While he's not on track to pass the bar exam like his namesake, this kitten is one smart cookie and we think he could win over the toughest judges around. Purry Mason will be happiest in a home with another cat friend to play with, whether that's another kitten pal or a resident cat who can show him the ropes!  We don't DNA test our kittens. Most cats and kittens in the US are a mix of breeds and we suspect the same is true for Purry Mason. He looks like he might be Maine coon mix (or other longhair mix). Either way, we know he's 100% cute!  Purry is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, he is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!  Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $125.    RHS Adoption Process and Requirements Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations and on a flea/heartworm preventative. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit by an RHS representative. Phone Interview. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. Home Visit.  If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will coordinate a virtual home visit. We’ll request you send videos/pictures of your home to verify it is safe and welcoming for the cat. Meet and Greet. Once your home visit is complete, we can coordinate a time with you and the foster parent/s to meet the kitty you’re interested in.  Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Wolfgang is a distinguished senior gentleman who is looking to spend the rest of his days napping, snacking, and cuddling with this favorite people. This gentle giant was found abandoned by some of our volunteers and we nursed this beautiful boy back to health. When Wolfgang came to us, he was underweight and had lots of missing hair.
