Story
Introducing Hercules the Hero! Hercules is a 2–3-year-old purebred Red Maine Coon. Hercules has had a tough life. Used as a breeder, likely caged most of his life, then tossed outside like garbage, this poor boy still loves people. He is a bit shyer than the other Maine Coons but is coming around quickly. He is a bit food protective (not necessarily aggressive), and he loves his food. He is very food motivated and would be easily trained using treats. Hercules gets along with other cats (other than at eating times), but he would happily be an only cat as well. A bit smaller than some of the others, he still has the distinctive Maine Coon ear tufts and face. If you are interested in adopting Hercules, please email us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com for an application. He is in a foster home in Ennis, Texas. His adoption fee is $650. Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states. Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption. All cats are considered mixed breeds unless otherwise stated. As a rescue, we often don’t know a cat’s origins, and do our best to guesstimate their breed. This is not a guarantee. We do get purebreds from time to time and that will be stated in their description if known. Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you email us, we will provide you with an application via email.

Story
Meet Olive! Olive is a sweet and gorgeous girl born in 2018. Olive was surrendered by her owners after kids came along Olive spent her days hiding in fear of the noise and chaos. They felt she would do better with a calmer home. Olive is shy at first and very sweet. She will need a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to relax. She is playful and likes cat nip, to chase feathered wand toys, and to hang out in her tunnel. She does well with other cats when properly introduced and has excellent litter manners. You must submit an application to be considered for adoption. We cannot reply to all inquiries, but respond to all no obligation applications. Fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/cat-adoption-application It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. Fee is $250 which includes first years vaccinations, combo testing, spay and microchip.

Story
Meet Twilight, a striking medium-to-long-haired tuxedo kitten with a soft, fluffy coat and bright, curious eyes. With his classic black-and-white markings and charming personality, Twilight is as handsome as he is lovable. He’s full of playful energy, always ready to chase a wand toy or wrestle with a stuffed mouse, but when playtime winds down, he’s more than happy to curl up next to you for some quiet snuggles. Twilight enjoys spending time with his brother Cosmos, especially when they’re chasing each other around the room or cuddling up for a nap. While they don’t need to be adopted together, Twilight does need to go to a home with another young cat or kitten to keep him company and help him continue to grow into a confident, happy cat. With his mix of playfulness, sweetness, and dashing good looks, Twilight is ready to light up your home. We don’t DNA test our kittens, but we think Twilight looks like he could be a Maine coon-type mix. He's likely a domestic lnog hair mix, but "Maine coon" has become synonymous with long haired cats. Most cats in the US are made up of a variety of different breeds, and we think Twilight falls into that category as well. Either way, we know he’s 100% cute! Twilight is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, he is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!  Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.  Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2353608##

Emailed responses often end up in spam folders!  Meet Venus, a long-haired torbie beauty with a personality as vibrant as her stunning coat. As part of the Valentine’s Day litter, Venus is a perfect mix of love and liveliness. Her silky fur swirls with rich shades of brown, orange, and cream, and her bright eyes are always full of curiosity and play. She’s sweet, snuggly, and full of spirit—a kitten who brings both charm and energy to every moment. Venus loves to play and explore, often leading her siblings on little adventures around the room. She’s clever, confident, and always up for a game of chase or a pounce on a dangling toy. But when the fun winds down, she’s quick to climb into your lap, nuzzle into your arms, and purr herself to sleep. Venus would do best in a home with another playful young cat or kitten to keep her company—she’d be thrilled to be adopted with one of her siblings from the same litter. If you’re looking for a kitten who brings together bold beauty, affection, and fun, Venus is ready to make your heart her home. Story
Mars is a stunning black long-haired gentleman who was nearly abandoned when his owner refused to pay pet rent. But Mars isn’t meant for the streets—he’s meant for a loving home where he can be cherished the way he deserves! This sweet and incredibly friendly boy has never met a stranger. He’s curious about everything and loves to explore his surroundings, making every day an adventure. While he does co-exsist with dogs and female cats, Mars would prefer to be an only child and get all the attention. He would thrive in a family with teenagers or adults only, as he can be a little unpredictable around small kids. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and social feline companion who will always be by your side, Mars is ready to be your best friend. Will you be the one to give him the forever home he’s been waiting for?
