Story
Cricket is a loving, sweet dog with a sometimes playful personality. She is 12 years old and has been having health issues. She has allergies that are best handled with quarterly allergy injections. She has a fungul infection that has been hard to get rid of even with bathing her in proper shampoos. She requires a good amount of attention. She is house trained but will have occasional accidents if left alone too long without going outside. We adopted her when more of our kids are at home. Our last two boys are busy in high school and we work. We have limited time to give to her and in addition she does require more attention due to some health issues. We do not have the time to properly care for her. It’s very hard to put her up for adoption but I know it is best. Will keep her as long as I need to until she can find a proper home.

Story
Emmett has been in our family for about 10 years (give or take)! He was adopted as a puppy and been with us since. Due to living situations and need for dental care, he is unable to stay with us anymore:( Emmett needs to be in a home where he will be loved and cared for and watched after! I would like to make sure that he has a family as loving as we were to him:) He is sometimes territorial with other dogs, but once he warms up to them he does super well! Big on cuddles and sleeping so anyone willing to sleep with dogs would fit perfectly for him!

Story
-I am bonded to Bella the Maltese and we are looking for a home together- Taco is a lively, affectionate, and charismatic dog who has made remarkable progress during his time in foster care. He is currently on a prescription diet as he continues his weight-loss journey and will need a family committed to helping him stay active and healthy. Taco loves his walks, enjoys running, and is always ready for a game of fetch or a chance to play with his favorite toys. As he has slimmed down and grown more confident, his coat has filled in, giving him the appearance of a small, cuddly “Taco Bear.” Taco is playful and goofy, but he also knows how to settle. He’s happy relaxing in his dog bed, resting in an open kennel, or lounging on the couch—though he does need a little lift to get up. He can navigate stairs but prefers help in the home where there is no carpet. At the park, however, he happily bounds up the steps with enthusiasm. Taco is a dog who forms strong bonds with his people, and because of that, he can be a bit protective at times. With consistent guidance, he has made tremendous improvement. He responds very well to redirection, learns quickly, and continues to show progress. Slow, thoughtful introductions with other dogs set him up for success, and he does especially well with his bonded sister Bella—he trusts her completely and never guards around her. In fact, she helps bring out his most confident and relaxed self. Like many dogs who have been through uncertainty, Taco sometimes needs reassurance when meeting new people or dogs. He can be vocal on leash or behind barriers, and he may get a bit nippy toward ankles or clothing when overly excited. However, he corrects easily and is eager to please, making him a wonderful match for someone who can offer structure, calm leadership, and patience. Because of his excitement levels, he would be best in a home without young children. Despite these quirks, Taco is incredibly loving. He is affectionate, full of kisses, playful, funny, and devoted to his people. He is also fully house trained and has not had a single accident since entering foster care. He enjoys being near his humans but is comfortable when left alone as well. Taco and Bella are a bonded pair who truly rely on one another. Bella provides him with comfort and stability, while Taco brings her companionship, warmth, and playfulness. They must be adopted together, as their connection is central to their continued happiness and growth. Taco will thrive in a home willing to support his continued weight loss, offer daily walks and playtime, and guide him gently as he continues building confidence. With Bella by his side, he is ready to bring joy, humor, and unwavering love to a family who welcomes both of them. ---------- Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
-I am bonded to Taco and we are looking for a home together. I do have diabetes and will need lifelong care and management for this condition- Bella is a small, gentle dog with a wonderfully spunky personality. She has diabetes and is on a managed routine that includes a special diet and insulin twice a day. Bella also has some vision impairment, which means she may bump into things in darker spaces or shadows, but she navigates daily life with confidence and curiosity. Despite these limitations, Bella enjoys sunbathing, rolling in the grass, and going on short, relaxed walks. She walks beautifully on a leash and may need to be carried for longer distances. Bella has a calm demeanor with bursts of playfulness that always bring joy to her foster home. She greets her people with an unforgettable little howl and may proudly bring a toy to say hello. She loves being near her family—on the couch, in the same room, or curled up close during quiet time—but she is also comfortable being left alone for a few hours. She sleeps peacefully through the night and is house trained, occasionally using a potty pad if needed. Bella gets along well with other dogs and cats. Due to her small size and delicate build, she may be best suited for a home with older children who understand how to interact gently with her. She can get excited at mealtime and vocal about it, and her foster family is helping her learn calmer routines around food. Bella does not resource guard, though she will let her brother know when she wants his toy or if his enthusiasm becomes too much for her. Her antics are both endearing and entertaining, and she keeps her foster home laughing with her unique blend of sweetness and sass. Bella and her brother share a strong bond. She may be the one in charge, but their connection is unmistakable. They comfort each other, learn from each other, and bring out the best in one another. Because of this, they will need to be adopted together. Bella’s ideal home is one with a lower to moderate activity level—one that appreciates gentle walks, cozy afternoons, and the joyful quirks of a deeply lovable pair. With the right family, Bella and her brother will continue to blossom and share their affectionate, funny, and loyal nature every day. ---------- Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs.
