Story
Jefri was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. He will be available to meet starting 3/14! Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2677703##

Story
Meet Livvy Breed: Maltese Sex: Female DOB: 11/18/2025 Weight: 6 Pounds Health: Healthy and thriving Livvy is a tiny little snowball of sweetness with soft eyes and a gentle spirit. At just three months old, she is still very much a baby — learning the world, discovering her confidence, and forming the bonds that will shape her entire life. She has that delicate Maltese charm — affectionate, people-focused, and happiest when she feels safe and close to her humans. Personality Livvy is cuddly, curious, and wonderfully affectionate. She loves exploring her surroundings, following you around on her tiny paws, and then climbing into your lap when she’s ready for reassurance. She thrives on connection and will likely form a deep, devoted attachment to her person. With patience and guidance, she will grow into a loyal, loving companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side. Breed Info Maltese are known for their gentle, devoted personalities. They are companion dogs through and through — they do not enjoy being left alone for long periods and thrive in homes where they are included in daily life. They require regular grooming to keep their coats healthy and mat-free, and they respond beautifully to kind, consistent training. Maltese bond deeply and often choose “their person” for life. Owner Responsibilities Livvy is a baby. That means frequent potty breaks, supervision, gentle socialization, and consistent positive reinforcement training. Puppies chew, explore, and make mistakes — they require time every single day. She will also require routine grooming throughout her life. Raising Livvy means actively shaping her into a confident, well-adjusted adult dog. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Before adopting Livvy, ask yourself: Are you home enough for a young puppy? Is your housing stable and pet-approved long-term? Are you financially prepared for grooming, vet care, and emergencies? Are you ready for a 12–15 year commitment — even if you move, change jobs, or life circumstances shift? Adoption is not temporary. It is for life. Vet Care Even though Livvy is healthy, it is essential to establish care with your own veterinarian immediately after adoption. This ensures her vaccination schedule continues properly, growth is monitored, and any concerns are addressed early. A relationship with your own vet sets the foundation for lifelong health. Understanding the 3-3-3 Rule The first 3 days Livvy may feel overwhelmed or unsure — everything is new. The first 3 weeks she will begin learning your routine and feeling safe. By 3 months, her trust will bloom, and her true personality will shine. Patience during this transition is critical for building lifelong confidence. Why Livvy? Livvy is not just a tiny puppy — she is a little life waiting to give her whole heart to someone. If you are ready to nurture, guide, and commit fully, she will reward you with unwavering devotion and years of soft, loyal companionship.   If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue. Story
If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever....Albert is the pup you want to have around! Albert, at just about 2ish years old and 10 lbs, is just naturally a lover. When he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just can't help but melt. Albert is a cute as can be Maltese / Poodle mix (Maltipoo) with all the traits that make these super-smart and personality-plus dogs very popular breed mixes for families as well as best friends for individuals. Albert enjoys his rescuer so much that he would win an award for being a lap dog extraordinaire. This sweet little guy cuddles close and an occasional kiss is inevitable. Albert is a sensitive and very sweet young pup who derives so much joy from his time spent with his people and his canine best friend. Albert is a very healthy tiny dog who will love his family with all his heart. He would enjoy another gentle dog to play with, and then lying together in the sunshine enjoying a beautiful day is perfect for Albert. This curious little guy will have so much fun exploring and taking walks along Colorado trails. He's always open to new activities with a never-ending positive attitude...just say the word and up Albert jumps for a car ride, some backyard play or just a sociable stroll around the neighborhood. Albert's rescuer had the following to brag about this sweet pup: Albert is a beautiful Maltese / Poodle mix (or so the shelter vets have told us..all we know for certain is that he's irresistible) with a beautiful face and the prettiest dark eyes ever. He's between 2 and 3 years old. This is the perfect age, old enough to have left his babyish behaviors behind and young enough to absorb new concepts and training skills. Albert weighs a very portable 10 lbs. This is such a great size to be tiny enough to be able to pick up and carry under your arm when the going gets challenging. Albert may be initially frightened after his very long transport.to Colorado but given a bit of time Albert becomes an extremely engaging and loving dog! We would love to see Albert in a home with a family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet dog. We'd hate to see Albert left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home. We think he's too sensitive for that arrangement. He's such an amazing dog and just the right size and temperament to accompany his people just about anywhere..and would absolutely love it. Farfel's would like to see Albert in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a little guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both virtual and in-person positive reinforcement trainers in your area. Albert has a gorgeous pure white non-shedding coat that is currently shelter-sad. He will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately every 8 weeks or so) and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are strongly recommended for longevity and coat care) to keep Albert's hair cottony-soft, shining and super- healthy. Albert is arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 3/14/2026. We're currently searching for a very loving and committed family for our sweet as can be Albert. Applications are being accepted for this loyal best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Albert please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

"Meet Perry! 🐾 Perry is a 4-month-old Maltipoo with a big heart and an even bigger love for his people. This sweet little guy is happiest when he’s close to his humans—affection is definitely his love language. Whether it’s cuddling on the couch or following you around the house, Perry just wants to be part of whatever you’re doing. He gets along great with other dogs and does well with kids, making him a fun and friendly addition to a family home. Perry is very attentive to his people and eager to learn, which will help as he continues working on his house training. His crate training is still a work in progress, but with consistency and patience he’s making progress. Perry is a loving, people-focused pup who will thrive in a home ready to give him plenty of attention, guidance, and snuggles as he grows. 💛" Perry is being fostered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/perry/. Story
-I am bonded to Bella the Maltese and we are looking for a home together- Taco is a lively, affectionate, 8 year old charismatic dog, weighing in at 23 lbs, who has made remarkable progress during his time in foster care. He is currently on a prescription diet as he continues his weight-loss journey and will need a family committed to helping him stay active and healthy. Taco loves his walks, enjoys running, and is always ready for a game of fetch or a chance to play with his favorite toys. As he has slimmed down and grown more confident, his coat has filled in, giving him the appearance of a small, cuddly “Taco Bear.” Taco is playful and goofy, but he also knows how to settle. He’s happy relaxing in his dog bed, resting in an open kennel, or lounging on the couch—though he does need a little lift to get up. He can navigate stairs but prefers help in the home where there is no carpet. At the park, however, he happily bounds up the steps with enthusiasm. Taco is a dog who forms strong bonds with his people, and because of that, he can be a bit protective at times. With consistent guidance, he has made tremendous improvement. He responds very well to redirection, learns quickly, and continues to show progress. Slow, thoughtful introductions with other dogs set him up for success, and he does especially well with his bonded sister Bella—he trusts her completely and never guards around her. In fact, she helps bring out his most confident and relaxed self. Like many dogs who have been through uncertainty, Taco sometimes needs reassurance when meeting new people or dogs. He can be vocal on leash or behind barriers, and he may get a bit nippy toward ankles or clothing when overly excited. However, he corrects easily and is eager to please, making him a wonderful match for someone who can offer structure, calm leadership, and patience. Because of his excitement levels, he would be best in a home without young children. Despite these quirks, Taco is incredibly loving. He is affectionate, full of kisses, playful, funny, and devoted to his people. He is also fully house trained and has not had a single accident since entering foster care. He enjoys being near his humans but is comfortable when left alone as well. Taco and Bella are a bonded pair who truly rely on one another. Bella provides him with comfort and stability, while Taco brings her companionship, warmth, and playfulness. They must be adopted together, as their connection is central to their continued happiness and growth. Taco will thrive in a home willing to support his continued weight loss, offer daily walks and playtime, and guide him gently as he continues building confidence. With Bella by his side, he is ready to bring joy, humor, and unwavering love to a family who welcomes both of them. ---------- Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
