**Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. ----------- • Rescue Story: Meet Tonki👋 In April 2025, a group of small dogs—believed to be victims of an illegal breeding operation—were found abandoned together on the streets of South Korea. Tonki was one of them. Now, he’s ready to leave his difficult past behind and begin a new chapter as a beloved member of a loving family. Having learned how to live happily with humans in his foster home, Tonki is patiently waiting for his forever home—where he’ll be cherished, protected, and loved the way he truly deserves. • Personality: Sweet, Friendly, Bright Tonki is a lovable, easygoing pup with a bright, happy energy. He’s incredibly affectionate and loves showing his humans just how much love he has to give! While he may need a little extra time to warm up to adult men, once he does, he becomes a loyal and devoted furry companion. • Affinity with - Dogs: Wonderful with other dogs! He’d do great as an only dog or as a second dog. - Cats: Not tested - Adults/Kids: Good with people, including kids / Needs a bit more time to warm up to adult men. • House Training: Fully housebroken - using pee pads indoors and going potty outside. • Walking Manners: Super gentle on leash and loves going for walks! • Bathing/Brushing: Tolerates both well. • Separation Anxiety: May howl briefly when first left alone, but once he settled, he relaxes and rests peacefully by himself. • Barks/Howls: Occasional barking when a male family member approaches suddenly. • Car Rides: Comfortable and calm • Appetite/Food Allergies: Big eater! / No food allergies found so far. • Likes/Dislikes: Likes to play with toys that make noise. / Not a fan of being lifted suddenly by a male family member • Shedding level (1~10): 1-2 • Health: Currently a healthy pup! He tested positive for heartworm when rescued, completed treatment successfully, and tested negative in Dec 2025. ----------- **Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Story
Please contact Robert Badura (robert.badura@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.small sweet mama seeking fresh start and love! NYRA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Nyra         Best Guess for Breed:   Maltese mix Best Guess for Age:  4.5 years as of March 2026       SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:   11.2 lbs as of 3/30   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters.   Currently Living at:  Puerto Rico shelter foster home - needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here.   Special adoption considerations:   Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Nyra is Looking For:  Nyra is a sato, a dog from Puerto Rico. She raised her baby Nahla well, and Nahla went off to get her own home. Now Nyra - who didn't get to see enough of the world in her previous situation - is ready to get her own humans. For sniffy walks, to see more of the world. And to love and be loved by. She wants to know where she belongs, that she is safe. In exchange, she promises loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Are you her fresh start? Is she the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has spent time in foster. care in the DC area Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Baby girl ISO the rest of her life! NAHLA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:    Nahla        Best Guess for Breed:    Maltese mix   Best Guess for Age:   9 weeks as of 3/27/26         SEX:   Female   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):   1 pound as of early March 2026 - updated weight coming later!   Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:    Puerto Rico shelter - needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here.    Special Adoption Considerations:       Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Nahla is Looking For:    Hi! I'm Nahla. I was born into rescue in Puerto Rico and my mama Nyra took great care of me. Now I've finally grown into my big-puppy pants and am ready to go off and get my own humans. I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am.What do you say? Do you have room in your home and your heart for me?   What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has spent time in foster care. Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than July 19, 2026. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
