This sweet little guy made his way to K-9 Lifesavers from Alabama, where adoptions can be few and far between — and he brought plenty of his Southern charm with him! Martin is sweet, affectionate, playful and full of love. He adores people (loves to be held) and is also wonderful with other dogs. With his friendly personality and loving nature, Martin will make an excellent companion and a wonderful addition to just about any home, although he does have a lot of say sometimes so an apartment might not be ideal.. This deserving boy is ready to leave his past behind and start his happily-ever-after. Could that be with you? Apply today and change Martin’s life forever! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Hi, I'm Max and I hail from Texas. Just to let you know, if you've ever heard the phrase "age is just a number", well, it is definitely true. While I am a senior gentleman, I am definitely medium energy and would enjoy a good long walk or two a day. I do fine on leash (except occasionally when I see another dog), am housetrained, and don't mind my crate. In general, I am friendly with people once I get to know them, and fine with dogs off leash (on walks I can be a bit leash reactive). I am not a fan of cats - I will bark and chase them. As for dogs, I prefer a slower introduction, as sometimes I will growl a bit before getting comfortable with my playmates. So, if you are ready for a little senior spunk in your life, apply today - btw, I am not a barker in general, so would be apartment/Townhome friendly! Also, my foster recently discovered that I I really enjoy watching TV! Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee covers; please consider making a tax-deductible donation by visiting us at https://www.hattonanimalrescue.org/sponsor. Donations help us offset vetting, boarding costs, and additional medical treatments for dogs who need it. For more information on Hatton Animal Rescue, visit our website at: hattonanimalrescue.org.

Story
Check out this patriotic little guy!   Meet Baxter! If you're searching for a loving new family member, your search ends here. Baxter is a 12-pound, 2-3-year-old Malti Tzu (a Maltese and Shih Tzu mix), and he embodies all the best, sweetest traits of both breeds.  Ater a few days in his foster home, Baxter found his voice.  Yes he has that Maltese trait.  For this reason, Baxter is not suited to apartment life.   Baxter was found as a stray in Nashville after someone suspected he’d been hit by a car and brought him to the emergency vet. Thankfully, there were no broken bones>  He has now totally healed from a sore back leg. (Hih had X-rays when he was neutered.  Everything now looks good.) We wish Baxter could tell us what happened and how he ended up on his own—it’s hard to imagine any family not wanting such a sweet boy.   Baxter is both a people-lover and a dog’s dog! He loves to play and would thrive with a young, active canine companion in his forever home. He adores people and always wants to be by your side—be prepared to never be alone again! His leg never slowed him down; he still jumps on the furniture to be with his foster mom whenever steps are available.   This young gentleman walks well on a leash and is fully housebroken. He loves going on adventures and rides like a champ in the car—he even prefers the back seat, though he’s happy on a passenger’s lap, too! Baxter is the perfect companion for trips to the park or visits to dog-friendly restaurants and shops.  Baxter can entertain himself but must have a doggie companion in his forever home.  There is lots of energy to burn by playing.   To learn more about bringing Baxter into your family or to request an adoption application, please email Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com or text 615-943-7311. Don’t wait—this sweet boy won’t be available for long!  August 16, 2026, 10:58 pm

Story
Meet Remy, the Southern Gentleman who will dazzle you with his winning smile! This 16-month-old Dachshund/Maltese mix is pure charm from nose to tail, with his fluffy white coat, one distinguished gray eye patch, and a tail that doesn`t quit. Watching Remy run is a treat all by itself—his short little legs bounce along like a cartoon character on a mission, and it`s impossible not to laugh. When playtime is over, this sweet boy transforms into a world-class cuddle expert. His favorite place to be is snuggled up next to his people, preferably burrowed under a cozy blanket where he can soak up all the love. He also gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, greeting them politely and respecting their boundaries like the little gentleman he is.Remy is still building confidence in a few areas, and he`s looking for a family that will help him continue making progress. He`s fully house-trained as long as he stays on a regular schedule, since he`s not the best at letting you know when it`s time to head outside. He`s also working on crate training—he`ll happily hang out in his crate with the door open, but if it`s closed, he may serenade you with his impressive howling skills because being away from his people is not his favorite thing. New people can make him a little shy at first, but if they`re patient and let him come to them, he`s soon asking for pets. And while `sit` remains an unsolved mystery (we`re convinced his adorable little hot dog body is partly to blame!), Remy more than makes up for it with his affectionate personality, sweet nature, and endless supply of snuggles. If you’d like to take this pupper home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $350 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heartworm and flea preventative medication. Some of our dogs have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they’re ready for a happy, healthy life with you!

Story
Sweet 3-year-old male Maltese looking for his forever home — ideally with his sister! This handsome boy is affectionate and people-friendly. He has some separation anxiety, so he does best with a companion by his side; he and his sister are bonded and we’re hoping to find a family who can adopt them together. He’s full of personality and would thrive with an owner who has time for consistent training, structure, and companionship. If you’re looking for an affectionate little guy who does best when he’s not alone, he could be perfect for your home!

Story
Sweet 3-year-old female Maltese looking for her forever home — ideally with her brother! This girl is affectionate, very social, loves belly rubs and is vocal! She’s bonded with her brother and they do best together, especially since he has some separation anxiety and leans on her for comfort. She’s full of personality and would do great with an owner who has time for training, structure, and giving these two the companionship they’re used to. If you have room in your home (and heart) for a loving pair, these two could be perfect for you!
