Story
Meet Clyde. The sweet senior was surrendered with his brother, Charlie, to our rescue by the only family they’ve ever known. While these two boys technically had a home, they were kept in the basement and did not have the care or engagement they deserved. Both dogs came into the rescue in dire need of dental work, both living with pain and infection. Clyde also had a heart murmur that needed medication. Both pups have been fully vetted, had dental work, and been groomed, and they’re getting lots of love and attention and flourishing in wonderful foster homes. These pups are exceptionally sweet, easygoing seniors who do well with cats, dogs, and all people. NOTE: Charlie has been adopted. Clyde is still looking for his forever home.  Clyde is a charming 11-year-old Maltese who will melt your heart with his soft cuddles and soulful eyes. He is a very gentle, affectionate, and laid-back boy who loves to be near his people and enjoys cuddling with his dog buddies. His foster home is an active household with a mom, dad, teen son, and two larger dogs, and he does well with everyone. Clyde would thrive in a quiet, loving home with someone who understands the joy and fulfillment of caring for and loving a senior dog. Whether you’re retired, work from home, or just want a sweet companion to keep you company, Clyde is ready to bring his gentle presence into your life. He enjoys short, leisurely strolls or just hanging out at home — he’s very adaptable and the perfect buddy for someone who enjoys a slower pace of life. He would do best in a home with a laidback pup companion and really appreciates the companionship of a dog buddy. As a senior, Clyde has some health issues to manage. He has a grade 4 to 5 heart murmur, which requires daily medications. We had an echocardiogram done to assess his condition, and he was cleared for dental surgery. He’s doing well on the medication and already had his dental cleaning and extractions. He’s feeling so much better now; his mouth infections are gone, and he has a new pep in his step. Clyde’s care will include bi-yearly bloodwork (which all seniors should have) and regular echocardiograms to monitor his heart condition every 6 to 12 months. Because of his past home conditions, Clyde currently wears a belly band during the day to protect him from marking or pee accidents. He knows to potty outside and will always poop outside. We suspect he has a mix of learned behavior from his prior home, older age, and some of the medications he is on make him more prone to potty. He has already learned to hold it overnight and enjoys snuggling up with this foster family in bed, so we’ve seen improvement. His foster mom has also noted that he tends to have more accidents when change or activity happens…so we think he could continue to improve in a calm environment. Despite his medical needs, Clyde’s foster mom, Jenn, describes him as a lovable, low-maintenance companion who is happiest snuggled up beside you or snoozing in a cozy bed. Clyde is a calm little guy who doesn’t ask for much — just a quiet, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years. Clyde may have a few extra needs, but the love he has to give is immeasurable. If you have room in your heart and home for this sweet senior, consider Clyde and apply today. NOTE: Clyde is in Charlotte, NC but can be brought to DC metro upon request!   BREED ESTIMATE: Maltese GENDER: Male APPROXIMATE WEIGHT:  10.5 lbs  APPROXIMATE AGE: ~ 11 years old COAT TYPE:  Medium-long fluffy coat ADOPTION FEE: $400 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/neutered/microchipped/recent dental LOCATION: Charlotte, NC   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Sweet, laid-back Leo is a 10-year-young gentleman looking for his forever home. He came to Mutt Love after his beloved human mom could no longer care for him due to cancer, and now he’s ready to be someone’s loyal little sidekick. Leo is a quiet, easygoing pup with a lovable 17-lb “dad bod” (a light diet and plenty of walks are in his future). He thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Once he chooses “his person”, he’s ALL IN. Think loyal shadow, professional snuggler, and emotional support sidekick. He is fully house-trained, loves his toys, and does well with children and other dogs. Cats are still an unknown. Story
Meet Harry & Sally – A Sweet Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home Harry and Sally are an adorable father–daughter duo who are hoping to spend their golden years together in a loving home. Harry is a 15-year-old Maltese mix, and Sally is his 12-year-old Yorkie mix daughter. These two are a bonded pair and must be adopted together—they’ve spent their lives side by side and truly thrive in each other’s company. They are doing wonderfully in their foster home and have settled into a comfortable routine. Harry and Sally enjoy playing with each other occasionally, but their favorite pastime is snuggling on the couch and being close to their people. If you’re looking for loyal companions who just want to be where the humans are, these two fit the bill perfectly. They are pee pad trained, and continuing to work on house training with good progress. At night, they sleep well in a crate—after a short period of initial protest, they settle in and rest quietly. Harry and Sally are slowly warming up to the resident dogs in their foster home and would do best with other calm, quiet dogs who respect their space. Their experience with cats and children is unknown, so a calmer household is likely the best match for them. These sweet seniors have so much love to give and are ready to bring warmth, companionship, and gentle joy to a forever home that will cherish them together. If you’re looking to open your heart to a devoted duo, Harry and Sally would love to meet you.  Adoption fee: $375, includes all shots, sterilized, heartworm negative, dewormed, flea preventative, microchip   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Story
Meet Benny, a sweet little Maltese who is looking for his forever home! This adorable little boy is super affectionate and loving, always ready to cover you in kisses. With his tiny frame of only 8 pounds, he is a bundle of energy and joy, bringing life to wherever he goes. Benny is estimated to be 5-6 years old, and despite his size, he has a big personality and an even bigger heart. Benny loves nothing more than running and playing in a yard, and he especially enjoys climbing up for some cuddles and kisses. He's used to being around other small dogs, so a home with a furry sibling could be ideal for this little guy. Although he may be a little shy at first with new people, once he warms up, he's a total cuddle bug who adores attention. Benny recently had a dental procedure and is now feeling better than ever! His blood work shows he's in excellent health, so he's ready to take on the world and find his forever family. If you're looking for a loyal companion to add some sunshine to your life, Benny could be the perfect match. He promises to bring laughter and love to his new home and is eager to find his place in the world. Could you be the one to show him what a loving family is all about https://fs8.formsite.com/Caringhearts/form1/index
