He came to Mutt Love after his beloved human mom could no longer care for him due to cancer, and now he’s ready to be someone’s loyal little sidekick. Leo is a quiet, easygoing pup with a lovable 17-lb “dad bod” (a light diet and plenty of walks are in his future). He thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Once he chooses “his person”, he’s ALL IN. Think loyal shadow, professional snuggler, and emotional support sidekick. He is fully house-trained, loves his toys, and does well with children and other dogs. Cats are still an unknown. Leo is the perfect match for someone looking for a calm, affectionate companion who just wants to enjoy the good life together. Meet Harry & Sally – A Sweet Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home Harry and Sally are an adorable father–daughter duo who are hoping to spend their golden years together in a loving home. Harry is a 15-year-old Maltese mix, and Sally is his 12-year-old Yorkie mix daughter. These two are a bonded pair and must be adopted together—they’ve spent their lives side by side and truly thrive in each other’s company. They are doing wonderfully in their foster home and have settled into a comfortable routine. Harry and Sally enjoy playing with each other occasionally, but their favorite pastime is snuggling on the couch and being close to their people. If you’re looking for loyal companions who just want to be where the humans are, these two fit the bill perfectly. They are pee pad trained, and continuing to work on house training with good progress. At night, they sleep well in a crate—after a short period of initial protest, they settle in and rest quietly. Harry and Sally are slowly warming up to the resident dogs in their foster home and would do best with other calm, quiet dogs who respect their space. Their experience with cats and children is unknown, so a calmer household is likely the best match for them. These sweet seniors have so much love to give and are ready to bring warmth, companionship, and gentle joy to a forever home that will cherish them together. Babka is a small 12 pound, one and ½ year old maltipoo rescue. He is incredibly cute, sweet, goofy, smart and loving and needs a home with someone experienced with fear/anxiety in small dogs. We adopted him 5 months ago with no information about his history. Babka would do best in a single person household where he has room to run/play outdoors and is located in a less densely populated area than where he currently lives. He is hyper-reactive on walks when passing cars, bicycles or people walking. He has recently started a regime of meds to help reduce his fear/anxiety. He is great with other dogs and would do well in a household where there are already other dogs. He needs patience to help manage his fear/anxiety when meeting new people. He can exhibit protective aggression in the house. In the right environment with support and training, he will evolve into an incredible, loving and fun companion. Babka is up to date on all shots, is neutered, and is microchipped.

We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  North Carolina shelter - needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!    Orion is Looking For:   This cutie landed in the shelter through no fault of his own. He is eagerly looking ahead to his new one. The one where he gets his own humans for sniffy walks and romps and all the adventures they can dream up. (And daily brushing and regular professional grooming - that coat needs it. Mats hurt!)He's well out of the puppy yips and is in his prime as an adult dog, so he knows what's most important in life: being safe and loved and under his own roof.
