Story
Meet Harry & Sally – A Sweet Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home Harry and Sally are a heart-melting father–daughter duo ready to spend their golden years side by side in a loving home. Harry, a gentle senior Maltese mix, and Sally, his equally sweet Yorkie/Maltese mix daughter, share an unbreakable bond and must be adopted together—they’ve been each other’s constant companions and truly thrive as a pair. These two have settled beautifully into their foster home and enjoy a calm, cozy routine. While they’ll occasionally engage in a little playful moment together, their favorite activity is simple: snuggling up on the couch and staying close to their people. They’re the definition of loyal companions and will happily follow you from room to room just to be near you. Harry and Sally are pee pad trained and continuing to make great progress with house training. At bedtime, they sleep in a crate and, after a brief moment of protest, settle in quietly for the night. They are slowly getting used to other dogs and would do best in a home with calm, respectful canine companions. They’re also perfectly fine with cats. A peaceful, low-key environment will help them feel most comfortable and secure. These sweet seniors have so much love left to give and are ready to fill a home with warmth, companionship, and gentle joy. If you’re looking to open your heart to a devoted duo who will love you endlessly, Harry and Sally are waiting to meet you. Adoption fee: $300 pair , includes all shots, sterilized, heartworm negative, dewormed, flea preventative, microchip, Harry just had a dental cleaning.   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Story
NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS! Meet Nilla! This sweet Maltese girl has been a loved and well-cared-for family dog. Her owner made the difficult decision to rehome her after a significant change in life circumstances. Nilla’s owner is a single mom and a federal employee who had a flexible schedule when she first adopted her. With recent changes requiring a daily commute downtown, her workday has increased by nearly three hours. By the time she gets home, she’s focused on her kids and understandably exhausted, and she feels Nilla wasn’t getting the time and engagement she deserves. She’s also traveling more frequently, which has meant longer boarding stays, very different from the life Nilla was used to. Nilla is still a young, active girl who thrives on companionship and interaction. She loves her walks, likes meeting other dogs, and enjoys being part of her humans’ daily life. She is happiest curled up right next to you. She’s incredibly affectionate and would always choose to nap curled up with you on the couch or sit on your lap while you work.  She’s very friendly with people and has great dog social skills. She does well at doggy daycare and has transitioned easily into her current foster home, where she lives with three other dogs. She enjoys playtime but is respectful of dogs who prefer their space. Nilla is housetrained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands like “sit” and “come”—unless she has one of her beloved mini tennis balls, in which case she might decide to keep it to herself! She loves squeaky balls, enjoys playing fetch (even indoors), and has a funny habit of hiding her toys in shoes…Don’t worry, she doesn’t chew them! This pretty, fluffy girl is a very happy pup with a little sass. She loves running in the yard (especially on a long leash) and even enjoys the snow. Watching her zoom around is pure joy. She also has an adorable “singing” howl that will make you smile. Overall, Nilla would thrive in a home with an owner who is looking for a bestie. A work-from-home or more flexible schedule would be ideal for this loving, social girl. Apply today!   BREED ESTIMATE:  Maltese GENDER: Female  APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: 14 lbs APPROXIMATE AGE: ~  3.5 years old COAT TYPE: Soft, lowshed coat that needs regular grooming ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/spayed/microchipped LOCATION:  Vienna, VA   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Story
Cece is a Maltese/Shih Tzu mix who will be 5 years old in April. We got her from a local breeder in Virginia Beach and she has been part of our family ever since. She is a very sweet, affectionate dog who loves cuddling, sunbathing in warm spots, and playing with other animals. Cece has a gentle and loving personality and enjoys being close to her people. She is also considered hypoallergenic, which can be a great fit for people with mild dog allergies. Unfortunately, due to changes in our family and Cece having difficulty adapting with our young son, we feel it is best for her to find a home where she can be more comfortable and thrive. This decision has been very hard for us because she truly is a wonderful dog. We are hoping to find a safe, loving home for her where she will continue to be cared for and loved.
