Story
Lady’s a 7yo 10lb Maltese mix. She’s dog selective, cat and kid 13+ friendly. She’s housebroken if kept on a schedule but will wear a diaper and use pee pads and crate trained. She’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. She’s agile, smart, likes squeaky toys, people and going for walks but will bark at people, dogs and noises. She is easy startled so best to sleep in a dog bed on the floor so not to accidentally wake her while sleeping. Lady’s foster requires a calm home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, be an only dog, brushed/groomed often to prevent matting along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Lady as all dogs should have 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Lady takes medication for a seizure disorder and for her eyes. She’s spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently in Phila, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

Story
Meet Pickle! Fostered in Jackson NJPickle is a sweet 9-pound, approx 2-3 year old Maltese looking for a patient and understanding home where he can build confidence at his own pace. This adorable little guy is very shy and may hide under a table or find a quiet spot when he's feeling nervous. While he takes time to warm up, the reward is well worth the wait. With gentle encouragement and plenty of treats, Pickle slowly begins to trust. His favorite snacks are cheese and peanut butter, and they're a great way to win his heart! Once he feels comfortable, he'll happily come over to see what goodies you have for him.Pickle is pee pad trained and does well when left home alone. He's still learning to walk on a leash and will need a family willing to help him continue building confidence out in the world. One thing Pickle would truly love is a calm female dog companion around his size. Having a gentle canine friend to snuggle with helps him feel safe and secure, and he enjoys the comfort of another dog by his side.  For this reason, we will only consider a home for him with another female dog companion.  Due to his timidness, we are looking for a home with a fenced yard.Pickle is searching for a quiet, loving home that understands shy dogs and will give him the time he needs to come out of his shell. In return, you'll get the joy of watching a timid little dog grow into a trusting companion. If you have patience, kindness, and a soft spot for underdogs, Pickle may be the perfect addition to your family.  Pickle is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. To apply for Pickle, please click the link to submit an application.  He is looking for a very special furever home who understands his needs, and. is committed to helping him continue to come out of his shell. https://peytonsplaceanimalrescue.org/adoption-application/ ##2830168##

Story
OLD LADY ALERT!!!Maggie came into the shelter as a surrender after being dumped as a vets office. She needed some TLC when she came in and got a shave down. She does have some medical challenges. As you can see, she has double cherry eye, but they don`t appear to be interfering with her vision or causing discomfort. She has arthritis in her back legs that make her a bit stiff walking but managed with pain meds. This girl isn`t ready to throw in the towel, but she does need a home that understands seniors. Sometimes she is cranky and wants to be left alone. She has been in foster and done very well. She does tend to guard her bed so getting her to get up and move can be a bit of a risky maneuver, but her foster mom has discovered she can be bribed with a treat. She also uses a treat for her meds, and it works great. Maggie hasn`t met a treat she didn`t love! She is staying in a home with other dogs and has only had one issue which was basically a quick back and forth then forgotten but still growls at them so we are saying a home with no other dogs for her. . She is a good old girl that deserves a home to live out her days/years in love and understanding. If you think you`re the one to give her this incredible gift, please don`t delay. Let`s get the best days of her life started!

Story
PA Kennel License #5254Wags Rescue & ReferralSouthampton Pa 18966 Local Surrender Matilda is an estimated adult spayed female who found her way to us as a local surrender after spending much of her life having multiple litters. Because of that, shes still learning what it truly means to be someones dog and to live the cozy, carefree life she always deserved. Shes currently on a weight-loss journey (go, girl!) and doing her best as she starts this new chapter. At first, Matilda can be shy and observant, preferring the safety of her crate while she takes in the world around her. But once she feels safe and comfortable? Oh, thats when the magic happens. Shell come out for happy little zoomies, gentle affection, and sweet moments that make it clear just how much love shes been saving up. Watching her confidence grow is truly something special. Matilda is crate trained and doing fantastic with house training, especially considering everything is still so new to her. She hasnt tried walking on a leash yet, so that will be another adventure she gets to learn at her own pace. She absolutely loves treats (a great way to win her heart), and shes very friendly with other dogs. In fact, she would likely thrive in a home with another dog who can help show her the ropes and reassure her that life is safe and good now. This little lady is looking for a patient, kindhearted person who can see her potential and give her the time and space to blossom. The love Matilda gives once she trusts you is quiet, sincere, and deeply rewarding the kind of love that feels earned and extra special. Matilda is ready to start the life shes always waited for. All she needs is someone willing to walk beside her as she learns just how wonderful being loved can be. PA Kennel License #5254Wags Rescue & ReferralSouthampton Pa 18966Available 8/29/2025 Originated fromMaggie Society DL# 16405Wilson NC 27893 Here is Joseph and Solomon, a perfect pair! These little boys are Maltese mix, and are about 6 years old. They are a bonded pair, and must be adopted together. They found themselves in rescue due to no fault of theirs, when their owner passed away and they had no where to go. Both are really sweet, but are a bit shy at first, and take a while to get comfortable in new situations. A patient, understanding adopter is a must. Once they get comfortable, they become velcro pups that just want to be with their person. In their previous home, they were pad trained, and still will use them, but they are willing to go outside for exploring and potty time. Solomon is 8 lbs and Joseph is 9 lbs, and they get along very well with other dogs. Both are heart worm negative, neutered, and up to date on shots. Solomon and Joseph will be available for adoption on the 29th of August. If you would like to add these sweet little boys to your family, get your application in now! Story
PA Kennel License #5254Wags Rescue & ReferralSouthampton Pa 18966 Originated from ACCT KL 08313 Meet Romona, a beautiful 4-year-old little magnificent mutt weighing approximately 9 pounds, with a gorgeous blond coat and a heart as gentle as they come. Romona is the kind of dog who may quietly steal your heart without you even realizing it. She is sweet, calm, and wonderfully quiet, with a gentle presence that makes her an absolute joy to have around. She doesn't need to be the center of attention or demand that you notice her. Instead, she is perfectly happy simply being close to her person and enjoying the comfort of knowing she is safe and loved. Once Romona chooses you, get ready to have a little shadow following you around. She loves her people and wants to be wherever you are. Whether you're walking from room to room, relaxing on the couch, or simply going about your day, Romona would be delighted to quietly tag along. There is something incredibly special about having a little companion who just wants to share life with you. Romona is also dog friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs. She has a soft, easygoing personality and would fit nicely into a home with a canine companion. She isn't looking for chaos or a nonstop party; she is simply happy to have friends and be part of a family. And if you're looking for a little dog who already has some wonderful manners, Romona is doing beautifully with both house training and crate training. She is spayed and ready to begin the next chapter of her life with a family of her own. Her beautiful blond coat may be what catches your eye, but it is her gentle soul that will make you fall in love with her. Romona is sweet without being demanding, affectionate without being overwhelming, and quiet in a way that makes her an incredibly peaceful companion. At approximately 9 pounds, she is the perfect little size to be your constant companion, and she would happily fill the role of your best friend, your tiny shadow, and the one who is always there to greet you and quietly keep you company. She would thrive with someone who appreciates the quieter dogs the ones who don't need to make a lot of noise to make a huge impact on your heart. If you're looking for a sweet, gentle, dog-friendly little companion who is ready to follow you through life's everyday moments, Romona may be the perfect girl for you.
