Story
Lady’s a 7yo 10lb Maltese mix. She’s dog selective, cat and kid 13+ friendly. She’s housebroken if kept on a schedule but will wear a diaper and use pee pads and crate trained. She’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. She’s agile, smart, likes squeaky toys, people and going for walks but will bark at people, dogs and noises. She is easy startled so best to sleep in a dog bed on the floor so not to accidentally wake her while sleeping. Lady’s foster requires a calm home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, be an only dog, brushed/groomed often to prevent matting along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Lady as all dogs should have 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Lady takes medication for a seizure disorder and for her eyes. She’s spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently in Phila, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

Story
Sometimes the best kind of luck has four paws, a scruffy face, and a whole lot of love to give... and Clover is ready to prove it! This oh so sweet, spunky little teenage-ish pup was recently surrendered by a loving family, and she previously did wonderfully with their children of all ages. Now in foster care, Clover is showing that she’s also happy making friends with other dogs and cats too! After a couple of days to settle in, her foster reports that Clover is a very easy dog. She’s been a little velcro-y (because who wouldn’t want to be close to their favorite person?) but that’s completely understandable while she adjusts to all the changes in her life. She’s also doing really well with her pee pads and is learning that her crate is a cozy place to settle down at bedtime—especially when her pre-sleep zoomies have other ideas. The big city can still feel a little overwhelming, especially with all of the unfamiliar sounds outside, but Clover’s confidence is already growing. Her foster has been taking her up and down the same stretch of their block to get her more comfortable, and she’s getting braver with each outing. With a little patience, encouragement, and continued practice, this little lucky charm is sure to blossom into a confident, well-rounded adult dog. Now Clover just needs a forever family to help her continue to learn the ropes, grow her confidence, and discover all the good luck that life has in store! ------------------------------------ This dog is considered a mixed breed because it’s not accurate to identify breed mix by sight alone, so for most dogs, their mix is only a guess. We get to know each dog as an individual and strive to make matches based on personality, not on breed label. ------------------------------------ This dog is currently located in a PAWS foster home. In order to meet with any dogs in foster care, you will need to have a fully processed and approved application first. To get the adoption process started, please complete the adoption application at phillypaws.org/dogapp. If you have any questions, feel free to email adoptions@phillypaws.org or call 215-298-9680 ext. 16. Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society, 2900 Grays Ferry Ave, Phila, PA 19146 (by appointment only). PA Lic.# 06172.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Nala! Quiet Senior Soul Looking for a Patient Heart   Nala was abandoned by the only family she had ever known after 10 years, she struggled to adjust to a new baby in the home. When we first met Nala, it was heartbreaking. She was confused, scared, and shutting down, not understanding why the people she trusted had left her behind.   Since coming into our care, Nala has been given the time and patience she needed to decompress. While she has made progress, learning to trust again has been a slow journey for her. The world feels a little safer now, but she still needs someone special who understands that trust takes time.   Nala is looking for a quiet, calm home with a patient adopter who is willing to move at her pace, earn her trust, and give her the safe and loving environment she deserves. With kindness, consistency, and love, Nala has the potential to blossom into a deeply loyal companion.   If you have the heart and patience for a dog who just needs someone to believe in her again, Nala may be waiting for you. ❤️Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 14, 2026, 10:17 am

Story
OLD LADY ALERT!!!Maggie came into the shelter as a surrender after being dumped as a vets office. She needed some TLC when she came in and got a shave down. She does have some medical challenges. As you can see, she has double cherry eye, but they don`t appear to be interfering with her vision or causing discomfort. She has arthritis in her back legs that make her a bit stiff walking but managed with pain meds. This girl isn`t ready to throw in the towel, but she does need a home that understands seniors. Sometimes she is cranky and wants to be left alone. She has been in foster and done very well. She does tend to guard her bed so getting her to get up and move can be a bit of a risky maneuver, but her foster mom has discovered she can be bribed with a treat. She also uses a treat for her meds, and it works great. Maggie hasn`t met a treat she didn`t love! She is staying in a home with other dogs and has only had one issue which was basically a quick back and forth then forgotten. She is a good old girl that deserves a home to live out her days/years in love and understanding. If you think you`re the one to give her this incredible gift, please don`t delay. Let`s get the best days of her life started!
