Story
Meet Coconut (Coco for short)- read what her foster mom has to say about her.Coco is an 8 yo Maltese weighing 8 lbs that we rescued from a commercial breeding kennel. I am still getting to know her and my other foster Cashmere who came in with Coco.  She is learning what it means to live in a home - steps, new noises, doors, touch, TV’s, leashes etc. She also had to have 20 teeth taken out as all decayed and spayed so it was a lot for a dog who spent 8 years in a cage to adjust to. She also had double ear infections to treat.  These poor dogs in these kennels are used as mill mama’s and it always takes time for them to trust people and new surroundings.  She is learning to go potty outside, walk around the neighborhood on a leash, enjoying good soft food and feeling so much healthier with those teeth gone and ears healed. She and Cashmere are scared but at the same time love to be petted.  I have learned from many mill fosters to keep the leash on and keep them with me and regularly pick up and love and hold them so they get used to it. She loves liverwurst, chicken and beef hot dogs so she will come and take from my hand.  I am seeing strides made every day.  She is good in the crate but I do take her out every 3 hours to potty train.  We are working on a dry crate through the night but have not gotten there yet.  She will need a fenced yard and another calm dog in the home to show her the ropes and build her confidence. If you are willing to understand it will take time, lots of patience, moving slowly, regular routines, it will be worth it.  Mill dogs make the best pets ever who will bond with you forever. Her fur is growing in as she came in shaved.  The brown is from licking with a mouth full of bacteria from bad teeth and with good food and regular grooming, her looks will blossom. Coconut is now spayed, up to date with vaccines and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm and has been started on monthly heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250.00. If interested in adopting Coconut,  please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application. Story
Hi!  My name is Mattie and I am looking for a forever home. I was part of an operation to rescue over 80 small dogs in order to put a backyard breeder out of operation as we were not being very well taken care of.  One of those rescues reached out to BCAA to see if they could help some of us and they said yes ... yeah!  We were all pretty scared when we first came into foster but everyone has been so nice to us and with some TLC and time, we are slowly coming out of our shells.  I would love to find a  quiet home, maybe with a friend or two to help me learn the ropes.  My foster mom was told I am a "malti-poo" (part maltese & part poodle); she just says I'm super cute.  I weigh just a little over 9lbs and at around 18mos old, I shouldn't get any bigger.  I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met and even share a crate with two of my friends without any issues, including eating side-by-side.  I have done well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any of our bedding.  I have never had a leash on before & they do scare me so I will need a physically fenced yard in order to take care of my business.  If you would like to meet me or one of my friends, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Lady’s a 7yo 10lb Maltese mix. She’s dog selective, cat and kid 13+ friendly. She’s housebroken if kept on a schedule but will wear a diaper and use pee pads and crate trained. She’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. She’s agile, smart, likes squeaky toys, people and going for walks but will bark at people, dogs and noises. She is easy startled so best to sleep in a dog bed on the floor so not to accidentally wake her while sleeping. Lady’s foster requires a calm home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, be an only dog, brushed/groomed often to prevent matting along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Lady as all dogs should have 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Lady takes medication for a seizure disorder and for her eyes. She’s spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently in Phila, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

**Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. ----------- • Rescue Story: Meet Tonki👋 In April 2025, a group of small dogs—believed to be victims of an illegal breeding operation—were found abandoned together on the streets of South Korea. Tonki was one of them. Now, he’s ready to leave his difficult past behind and begin a new chapter as a beloved member of a loving family. Having learned how to live happily with humans in his foster home, Tonki is patiently waiting for his forever home—where he’ll be cherished, protected, and loved the way he truly deserves. • Personality: Sweet, Friendly, Bright Tonki is a lovable, easygoing pup with a bright, happy energy. He’s incredibly affectionate and loves showing his humans just how much love he has to give! While he may need a little extra time to warm up to adult men, once he does, he becomes a loyal and devoted furry companion. • Affinity with - Dogs: Wonderful with other dogs! He’d do great as an only dog or as a second dog. - Cats: Not tested - Adults/Kids: Good with people, including kids / Needs a bit more time to warm up to adult men. • House Training: Fully housebroken - using pee pads indoors and going potty outside. • Walking Manners: Super gentle on leash and loves going for walks! • Bathing/Brushing: Tolerates both well. • Separation Anxiety: May howl briefly when first left alone, but once he settled, he relaxes and rests peacefully by himself. • Barks/Howls: Occasional barking when a male family member approaches suddenly. • Car Rides: Comfortable and calm • Appetite/Food Allergies: Big eater! / No food allergies found so far. • Likes/Dislikes: Likes to play with toys that make noise. / Not a fan of being lifted suddenly by a male family member • Shedding level (1~10): 1-2 • Health: Currently a healthy pup! He tested positive for heartworm when rescued, completed treatment successfully, and tested negative in Dec 2025. ----------- **Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.
