Story
How this pet arrived:Zeuko was brought in by a Good Samaritan on January 11th, 2026. At SDHS:Bruno has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered and is ready for his new home! Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Zeuko! Zeuko is a big-hearted, super snuggly boy who wants nothing more than to be right by your side. He's affectionate, loving, and thrives on close human connection. Zeuko already knows several commands like sit, wait, drop it, and leave it, and he's eager to keep learning. This energetic guy is always alert to the world around him and loves staying busy. Long walks, interactive play, fetch, and tug-of-war are some of his favorites. Because he's strong and can get very excited, he'll need a confident handler who can continue working on leash manners and jumping. He can be mouthy when overstimulated, but redirection and structure go a long way.Zeuko would do best in an active home that understands big, enthusiastic dogs and is ready to help him channel his energy. If you'd like to learn more about Zeuko come visit him at the San Diego Campus today! Don't forget to bring a leash and collar. Primary Color: Black Brindle Weight: 68 Age: 1yrs 11mths 2wks

How this pet arrived:This pet was brought in by a community member on September 9, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Jones! Jones is a total lovebug who's ready and waiting to find his new loving home. He adores people and will display his excited wiggles when he greets you. Story
How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a community member. Why this pet is the one for you:He can be a bit anxious, which is common in shelter environments, but once he's out with his handlers, his true personality shines. He's a good boy on leash and enjoys getting out for walks, making him an easy companion to take along. Our staff and volunteers absolutely adore him and speak highly of his kind nature. He may have some skin issues that will need a little care, but with love and consistency, he has so much potential to thrive. He may feel more comfortable with women, so a calm, patient home would be ideal for him to continue building confidence. This handsome guy is just looking for someone to see past the stress of the shelter and give him the chance he deserves. If you're looking for a loyal, sweet companion, he could be the perfect match. Adopt Rudolph at the San Diego Campus today! Primary Color: Brindle Weight: 103 Age: 4yrs 1mths 1wks

Story
Meet Wick, a lovable 1-year-old Mastiff with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This gentle giant is still growing into his paws and has all the youthful curiosity and sweetness you could hope for. Wick absolutely adores people—he greets everyone with pure joy and enthusiasm, his whole body wiggling with happiness. He also completely believes he’s a lap dog (despite… well, his very large reality!). Wick loves to lean in close, soak up affection, and be as near to his humans as possible. His loving nature makes him a total favorite. Because he gets so excited to say hello, he's working on greeting people politely—and he’s making great progress with gentle guidance. Wick thrives when he knows what’s expected of him and gets lots of praise and love along the way. Wick would shine as the main star of his future home—he’s the kind of dog who really blossoms when he gets to be the center of attention and affection. If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, affectionate companion who will fill your home with warmth, laughter, and endless love, Wick is ready to be your gentle best friend for life!
