He is around 6 years old & a wonderful, settled pup. He is a mastiff mix that is respectful with his size and loves to give us a big beautiful smile in exchange for belly rubs🥰 Tate gets along with everyone he meets, human and animal alike, and we think he would do well in a home with or without furry siblings. He is currently in a home with two other male dogs and they get along wonderfully! He is very passive and friendly. More than anything, he wants a couch and a bed to snuggle up on and some people to spend his days with. He also LOVES car rides and will rest his head on the dash while being your shotgun rider💕 Tate is housetrained, walks well on a leash and is great with kids! This adorable pup is Bubba Gump and he's a little bit country. :D His bestie is Opal. We'd love for them to be adopted together but will consider apps with other dogs. Neither of them likes not having the other around.  Bubba is a gentle giant at 85 lbs and 5 ish years old.For the last few years, he's been doing his best Forrest Gump impersonation and running across the state of Alabama.... Really it was only the town of Montevallo but he's really good at running. :D However, since getting caught, he realizes his place is among the people! He is a gentle lug  Bubba is very friendly and a curious boy. He wants to know about all the things. His favorite things are cheese, scratching his back on shrubs, and rolling in the grass. When he is ready to roll, he doesn’t just lay down and roll... This boy gets some momentum going, goes into a head first somersault, and hits the ground with a big THUD. Apartments probably aren't a fit :D. This sweet boy walks great on a leash, is house trained, and is a quick study.  Bubba is a friendly boy and loves meeting other pups but only plays for about 10 seconds before deciding laying down is better. His energy level is definitely closer to couch potato. This beautiful girl is hoping to find her family. While Chessie looks like a Mastiff, she is not mastiff sized! She’s about 60 pounds and about a year old. Her siblings look nothing like her. We don’t know their breed for sure, only having their looks to go by. Chessie is very sweet and loves people. She is good with other dogs, cats are unknown. She does tend to jump on people and for that reason may not be the best candidate for young kiddos. She wouldn’t hurt them on purpose but may knock them over. Chessie currently lives in an outdoor fenced area at her foster home simply for lack of space. Her foster mom spends lots of time with them, but wouldn’t it be nice for Chessie to find a nice warm couch to cuddle up on? Also, dogs thaf have lived most of their lives outside tend to be easier to house train because going outside is all they’ve known.  Please share this beauty. She is smart and eager to please her humans. Want to be greeted like a rock star every time you enter the house, whether you’ve been gone for 5 minutes or 5 hours?  Want a warm furry body next to you night or day?  A built in alarm system?  Harper  is your girl!   Likes:   Harper  loves to be where her people are. She will gladly snooze at your feet if you are working or cuddle beside you while watching a movie. She would prefer to sleep next to you at night (with her head on your pillow if you’ll let her). She loves her chewies and her toys and exploring outside. Dislikes:  Harper  is not a fan of being left alone. If your household is empty for long periods every day than  Harper  is not the girl for you. She does not love GETTING into the car but once in there she enjoys sticking her nose out the window and smelling all the smells.  Personality:     Harper  is a little reserved at first and takes her time getting to know someone new, but once you’re “in” you’re in and she will gladly cuddle next to you on the couch with her head in your lap. She is protective of her home and people and will let you know if there is someone outside, but once you let her the know the person is “OK” she stops barking. She does try to swipe a sandwich or 2 on occasion if it is left unattended but will stop if caught in the act! Temperament:   She is mostly very calm but has been known to get a case of the zoomies especially when she is happy or excited. She is a total lovebug however she does not respect personal space and will wedge herself next to you on a chair at any opportunity. Energy level:   Moderate energy – She is happy to snooze and chew on a chewie but will happily take a walk or romp around the backyard. Favorite activities :  Being with her people, cuddling, chewing a bully stick, hanging with her furry foster siblings. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?:    Harper  currently lives with an 185 pound female Mastiff and a 50 pound male Cattle dog and gets along well with both but will need a  slow introduction . Both dogs she lives with are fairly submissive and that dynamic works for her. She is closer with the other female and will cuddle up next to her to sleep on occasion.  She is not recommended with small dogs and is untested with cats. She will not be adopted to a family with small children. She would be OK with older children who can be respectful, but would not do well in a house where there is lot of activity and new people coming and going.   Not good with:   Small children, small dogs and strangers (at first) Housetrained:   Yes!  Crate trained:   She is not crate trained but has not been destructive   when allowed to free roam.  Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)?   Yes, she will require a fenced yard. Walks well on a leash?   Yes. Challenges:   Harpers biggest challenges are her separation anxiety and her tendency to be overprotective of her home.  Harper  will only be adopted to a home with another dog so she does not have to be alone if her people are away. Any Medical issues?   No,  Harper  is a healthy 5 year old. What would be the best kind of home?   Harper  will do well in a fairly quiet home with another dog to keep her company. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fill out an Adoption Application Rayna IS LOCATED IN Oakton, VA Meet Rayna, a two-year-old Great Dane / Mastiff who was rescued from PA shelter by MTM. Likes: Rayna loves her woobies/plush toys, dog pillow, running/playing in yard and watching street traffic. She loves to run and play outside in the fenced yard at her foster home, go for walks to visit with the dog walking parade, and snuggling with her toys on her dog pillow. Dislikes: Rayna current dislikes are garages and stairs. Personality: (goofy, laid back, playful, etc) Rayna is WHOLE lot of goofy dog, and knows it! She’s playful but not over the top with her energy and she just wants to be lubbed &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143. Her default is to sit on brakes and avoid whatever she’s doesn’t want to do.  Given she is motivated by affection, i am sure with time her trust will be earned to tackle her remaining fears.  She does want approval over basic needs as she’ll come when called inside, even if she hasn’t done her business.  Temperament: she’s a big puppy who wants to have fun and hear words of love… some l fears/anxieties have shown ... She is startled relatively easily during walks by unexpected noises, for whatever reason doesn’t like garages etc. Rayna can be stubborn but with patience, wants to learn and be with her people.   Energy level:  rayna loves to run around and play outside…for all of about 10-15 minutes. She loves her mile and a half walks - gets really excited when he sees her harness and leash come out! Favorite activities: By far, Raynas favorite pastime involves her plushies, playing outside and watching passersby dog walkers. Good with small and large dogs, and kids (over 6)?: When introduced to new dogs, she does get easily overwhelmed and overstimulated- especially if they are dominant. After decompression, Rayna easily adjusted to living with her schnoodle brother and will likely do best with a more laid-back canine personality who also likes to puppy play.  Rayna has not been tested with cats, but she doesn’t show interest in chasing small critters in the yard or on walks. Rayna has been exposed to both younger and older kids. Not good with: any new dog near her crate, stairs, we’re working on garage fears, socks & shoes (grabs them from laundry room and goes to dog pillow to commence chewing), counter surfing, begging during meal times. Housetrained: Rayna is mostly housebroken- if foster mom watches her go outside this is much less likely (she’s a two pee-er and one pooper). Crate trained: Yes! She’s learned to enjoy her crate and while she doesn’t voluntarily go into it when the door is open, she settles down inside for meals and when foster mom is working.  It would be best if it has a view of the street to pass the time.   Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Rayna enjoys playing in the fenced yard at her foster home. Walks well on a leash? When it comes to walking on leash, Rayna has come leaps and bounds with her leash manners.  We are still walking with two leashes (no pull harness and collar) since she tends to hit brakes and pull if startled . She pulls and after assessing situation, words of encouragement and starting momentum in different direction to turn she can be distracted to continuing along. Challenges: Rayna is still a puppy and needs to learn more basic training and manners to sink in.  She’s very receptive and learns with repetition- has learned to sit, go into crate, go up/down two steps, come, do her’ business’, walk forward on leash without pulling.  Positive words of encouragement make the difference. Any Medical issues? Rayna eats quite a lot and is filling out her puppy shape.  She seems to be in great health. What would be the best kind of home? So far, it seems Rayna will benefit most from being adopted by a family who is committed to continuing to provide her with a stable environment, wants to show her affection (and use positive reinforcement for teaching her),  who will enforce basic training, give her an outlet to socialize and enjoy her puppy energy, be patient and respectful of her fears and not rush her to do too much too fast.     Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. Harlee is a superstar fawn mastiff girl who is super sweet. She weighs in at roughly 135 lbs of laid back, but perky, personality plus! Harlee is a social butterfly who greets men and women with tail wags and pleas for pets.  Likes:  Harlee is a morning girl who will greet you with butt wiggles that will make you laugh.  She loves to snuggle on the couch and watch TV with you but is also up for a walk in the neighborhood to investigate her surroundings. Dislikes: Other than small dogs, Harlee doesn’t seem to dislike much of anything, so far. She is definitely not a fan of small dogs but otherwise doesn’t seem to be phased by much.    Personality:   Harlee is polite – she waits patiently in her crate while dinner is being prepped and walks well on leash.  She’s also a talker – she’ll have a whole conversation with you if you’re having fun.  Did we mention she snores?  Like, REALLY snores? Temperament:  She is SUPER sweet and pretty laid back. She’s curious and engages with her people. Energy level:  Moderate energy - Harlee likes to walk but she also loves to sit under the desk while you work or laze about in the sun on nice days.  Favorite activities:  Chilling in the sun, exploring her surroundings, snoring, walking, getting pets, and more to be found… Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?:   Harlee prefers the company of large or x-large dogs who share their toys.  She appreciates dogs that are calmer in nature - pups who are exuberant or overly excited seem to irritate her or put her on edge.  No cats or small dogs for this girl.  She also prefers to be in a home without small children.  Teenagers would be fine. Not good with:  Small children, cats, and small dogs. Housetrained:  Yes!  That makes life easier, right? Crate trained:  Yes!  She’s also crate trained!  But she doesn’t necessarily need it.  She does great when her people are away – either in or out of the crate. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)?  We’ve been told that Harlee likes to wander, so a fence is preferred unless she won’t be off leash Walks well on a leash?  Harlee walks SO nicely on a leash.  If you’re looking for a walking buddy, she’s your girl. Challenges:  Harlee wants what Harlee wants and she’s sure that she should have it. Just be patient with her and be firm, and she’ll eventually move on to her next interesting adventure.  She’s a bit possessive of her person, so she needs some work on not hogging the path to that person. Any Medical issues?  Harlee has arthritis and is being treated for a low thyroid and cushings disease.  *Her foster is happy to answer any questions you may have about her care.* Harlee also made a New Year's resolution to shed a few pounds, so she’s on a low-calorie, high quality kibble diet.  :)   What would be the best kind of home?  Harlee Quinn lives up to her namesake....she's a fun, flirty girl who is a delight to foster!! She's in foster care due to a military relocation, through no fault of her own.
