If your hatch is open, he will exercise his right to non-violent protest and sit next to the car until you let him in.-Has been a gentleman with the cats in his foster home. Slow, careful introductions are always best!-Has been a gentle giant with the other dogs in his foster home. Slow and proper introductions are a must.-Is currently fostered in a home with kids. Bigger kids are ideal, as he will absolutely put all 103 pounds into his attempt to become a lap dog.-Certified snuggle buddy. He identifies as a lap dog.Verified couch potato. He loves a good sofa snuggle.-Has the biggest, happiest tappy toes when he sees a leash.-Loves to lie down in the middle of a walkway because that gives him the highest chance of getting pets from people walking by.-Loves a good bone. He will carry it around and is a gentleman if you need to take it away.-LOVES playing in water!A FEW THINGS TO KNOW:-Not a barker, but he will sing the song of his people if he wants to snuggle and can't get to you.-Not a guard dog. He won't bark to announce deliveries. If he could open the door to let someone in, he would do it with a wagging tail.-Has absolutely no idea that he weighs 103 pounds. A home with older kids or someone who is comfortable with large dogs is best. He loves meeting kids, but will absolutely try to sit on them.-Doesn't really play with toys. Bermuda A18742154 lb. spayed female, approx 10 months old -Young girl who is still building her confidence and is trying her best to be brave! Outside, she took a few minutes to explore and take everything in before finding comfort by plopping herself right between my legs for some pets and attention. She seemed like she wanted to break out into play a couple times, but just needs a little more confidence to let her personality fully shine!-Inside she was more relaxed and settled down right next to me, even giving me half her belly for some pets. 🥹-She likes treats, knows sit, and takes them nicely!-She was a little curious about toys but didn’t engage in play just yet. She may become more playful once she feels comfortable and settled in!-She walks very nicely on leash without pulling!-Overall, she’s a sweet young girl who just needs a little time, patience, and encouragement to help her confidence grow. She’s already showing little glimpses of the playful, affectionate girl waiting to come out! -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper introsUnknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here).
