Story
Meet the lovely Shirley (ACCT-A-258045)! Shirley is a gentle soul who is looking for a quiet home where she can truly blossom. While she can be a little weary and vigilant when first meeting new people, it doesn't take much to win her over. She is a big fan of treats, and once she knows you’re a friend, she’s happy to accept gentle pets and companionship. In her kennel, Shirley is a polite and quiet resident, often found resting comfortably on her bed. She is a very easy walker on the leash, preferring a slow and steady pace. She isn't one to pull; instead, she appreciates a relaxed stroll where she can take in the world at her own speed. Shirley seems to really enjoy the simple things in life, like laying on a soft blanket and snacking on some tasty treats. Shirley has also shown herself to be quite social and tolerant with other dogs. During a recent meet-and-greet with another dog named Daisy, Shirley was perfectly calm and polite, showing that she can coexist beautifully with a furry friend. If you are looking for a low-key, sweet companion to enjoy quiet afternoons with, Shirley might be the perfect addition to your family. 📽️Videos📽️: Daisy and Shirley https://youtu.be/0Kezzvij_8s?is=-lfVa85IbacRxTN5 https://youtube.com/shorts/xj7r6QJgcaA?is=xlzdlBj7Jluq4Ydz ⭐Behavioral Notes⭐ 08/09/2026 per staff: Daisy and Shirley - Remained laying down. Good greetings. Tolerant. 08/09/2026 per staff behavioral eval: Kennel Presentation: Laying on the floor of the kennel with her back towards the door when i approached. Called her name and she turned with soft eyes and ears side. Dropped and treat and she got up to eat it. Leash Skills: easy to leash and slowly came out of the kennel. Walked on a loose however based on gate and shaken of the legs may be in pain. Once out side she stopped and needed light leash pressure to move even a few feet. Sociability: when i first attempted to pet, she closed her mouth with a side eyed. I offered a treat and she was no longer eating. Brought inside to the eval room and she immediately laid down on a blanket. I crouched down and she tolerated pets and began to eat treats again. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: met Daisy. Remained laying down. Able to be sniffed, also sniffed Daisy. Return to Kennel: need light leash pressure to get up. Slowly walked back kennel, went in and immediately laid down on bed. Had to step in to remove leash with hand. Color Level: blue Recommendations and considerations: 08/08/2026 9:06am per staff: Vigilant, weary at first but allowed leashing and petting after capture. Story
PA Kennel License #5254Wags Rescue & ReferralSouthampton Pa 18966 Originated from ACCT KL 08313 Hunter is a big-hearted, slightly confused mastiff mix with a heart as huge as his paws! Estimated around 2 years old (but he may secretly be a mischievous young pup at heart), this neutered gentleman is ready to find a home that appreciates a gentle giant with a silly side. Hunter is a quick learnerhes already mastered sit and is working hard on down. He takes treats with the utmost politeness, and is practicing his leash manners like a champ. Crate-trained and loving his fetch sessions, hes a bundle of joy who brings smiles wherever he goes. Currently tipping the scales at just under 100 lbs, Hunter is working on filling out his frame. Despite his impressive size, he truly believes hes a lap dog, and hell happily snuggle as close as youll let him. Hes dog-friendly, playful, and hilariously unaware of just how big he really is. Hunter came to us from a local shelter, a bit on the skinny side, but his heart has always been full. Hes ready to find a home where he can grow into his body, his love, and his ever-expanding collection of toys. If youre ready for cuddles, goofy smiles, and a loyal companion who will happily fetch, sit, and snuggle like a boss, Hunter is your guy!
