Story
Ollie and Lulu were surrendered to us when their owner no longer had the time to care for them. They both had untreated medical issues and severe dental disease, leaving them extremely uncomfortable and lethargic. After receiving treatment they became almost entirely different dogs. Ollie and Lulu may be seniors but they sure do like to go for walks and run around the yard together. They are a volunteer favourite because of their goofy and sweet dispositions. They are selective with dogs and would only do well in a home with another calm dog that does not intimidate or become rough with them. Ollie does bark at other dogs in passing, while Lulu ignores them. Ollie and Lulu would do well in just about any home. They have been great with respectful children that are experienced with dogs. Lulu can sometimes have grumpy moments when she wants her space to nap. It's important to look for the obvious signs when she needs alone time. Ollie is always happy and ready for a cuddle. This cute duo have great house manners, they frequently go on sleepovers with our dedicated volunteers who report they are always on their best behaviour. Story
Meet Dodger! Dodger is a gorgeous apricot poodle, approximately 2 years old and around 20 lbs, with the sweetest soul to match his good looks. He came to us after being rescued by a kind woman who gave him a safe, loving place for four months after he was removed from a home that wasn’t treating him well. Thanks to that compassion, Dodger has truly blossomed. Dodger is a happy, playful, non-shedding boy who loves to follow his people around and keep an eye on whatever you’re doing. He’s affectionate without being overwhelming and thrives on companionship. He absolutely adores other dogs and would be happiest in a home with another playful pup where he can have a furry sibling to romp and bond with. This means he absolutely needs another dog to live with. A fenced yard would be ideal for him to safely enjoy playtime and outdoor fun. He is house trained, enjoys his walks, and is eager to continue learning and settling into a routine. As a poodle, Dodger will require regular grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best. He currently is not a fan of the car and can get a bit carsick, but with time we hope that he will get used to it. Dodger is currently being fostered in Stouffville, Ontario, and is ready to find the forever home he truly deserves. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who will be your little shadow and best friend, apply now to adopt Dodger. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Story
Meet Goldie — a sweet, affectionate little girl who’s looking for a loving home where she can continue to thrive. Goldie is about 9 lbs and is believed to be a mix of Chihuahua, Spaniel and Poodle — though her exact mix is anyone’s guess. She has a beautifully soft coat that doesn’t seem to shed and is estimated to be around 2-3 years old. Goldie is settling in beautifully at her foster home in Mount Albert, where she’s happiest curled up on everyone’s lap whenever she gets the chance. She’s a very social, happy pup who loves meeting new people and eagerly runs up to say hello. She has met children and was very happy to see them, and we feel she would do well in a home with older kids who understand and respect dog boundaries. Goldie is adaptable, joyful, and takes new experiences in stride. She loves toys, zoomies, and interactive play, and she continues to make great progress every day. Goldie would thrive in a home with another playful dog who enjoys companionship and fun, but she would also do very well as the only dog as long as she receives plenty of attention, regular walks, and opportunities to burn off her energy. We did explore a home with cats for Goldie, but it became clear that a cat-free home would be the most comfortable and stress-free environment for her. Our goal is simply to set her up for long-term success in a space where she can fully relax and be herself. Cuddly, affectionate, and eager to bond with her people, Goldie is ready to bring love, playfulness, and lots of lap time to her forever home ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Tis’ the Season to Adopt a Senior!!!!! Meet Lucas – Our Sweet Senior Looking for a Calm, Kid-Free Forever Home Lucas is a 12 lb poodle–schnauzer mix who was adopted from Coveted Canines 9 years ago and spent almost a decade as a deeply loved family member. As his family grew, it became clear that Lucas was not comfortable around little ones. The noise, crawling, and unpredictability of young children made him anxious, and he would react with barking and growling when he felt overwhelmed or unsure. His family did everything they could to keep him separated and feeling safe, but ultimately realized that Lucas would be happiest in a home without children, where he can enjoy his senior years in peace. Per their adoption contract, Lucas was returned to the same rescue he originally came from, and he is now thriving in his foster home. He lives with several dogs and gets along beautifully with them, often choosing to quietly cuddle up next to the other seniors. For his age, Lucas is in great health and enjoys a calm, predictable routine. He may be experiencing some hearing loss, which can contribute to his sensitivity in busy environments, but in a peaceful home he is relaxed, sweet, and content. Lucas is fully housetrained, has no food restrictions, and is an excellent candidate for condo living. All he wants is a quiet, loving home where he can be the centre of your world. Lucas has been vetted with core vaccines (dh2pp, rabies), neutered, microchipped, dewormed, on tick/heartworm and flea prevention, had a dental last year and his teeth are still ok. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate senior who will be your loyal companion, Lucas just might be your perfect match. If you can give this good senior boy the love and space he needs, please fill out a Canine Adoption Application on our website at: covetedcanines.org/application
