An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Brother to Reno and Zac. Hi, I’m Fido.  Having had little socialization with people, I am timid, shy and skittish.  Having been surrendered by a breeder and little socialization, I’m longing for a family to trust. My shyness/skittishness can be corrected with time.  Exposing me slowly to new things, sharing your home, providing positive reinforcement and praise will help me bond to you for life. I’m 2 years old and about 20#, I’m Very dog friendly, only hesitant to people. Running, playing with other dogs or toys, are all things I’ve learned while in rescue. I’ve been making progress and am slowly coming around, being around doggie friends helps me a lot.   Do  to my shyness, a 4 ft fenced in yard will be required to adopt me. Sorry, no kids since I am still fearful and fast motions may cause me to bolt.   Did you know, we poodles are athletic, agile, very intelligent and “Hyper Allergenic”? Yes, that’s what I hear. Just look into my deep dark eyes and tell me you don’t see my hope for the future, hope for a family, hope of better things to come. I’m Fido, a little boy yearning to share “The Best of Times”, with YOU!  To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash. Even tempered, playful, eager to please and gentle, but having had little socialization with people, I am also timid, shy and skittish. My name is Zac. Hebrew in origan, Zac means “The Lord has Remembered” or “God’s Gift”! Having been surrendered by a breeder and little socialization, I’m longing for a family to trust. My shyness/skittishness can be corrected with time.  Exposing me slowly to new things, sharing your home, providing positive reinforcement and praise will help me bond to you for life. Then, I will be “God’s Gift” to you. At 1 year old and about 20#, I’m Very dog friendly, only hesitant to people and NEVER Aggressive. Running, playing ball, other dogs or with toys, are all things I’ve learned while in rescue. I’ve shown eagerness to please, an even temperament, and affectionate once I trust your touch. Due to my shyness, a 4 ft fenced in yard will be required to adopt me. Sorry, no kids since I am still fearful of fast motions may cause me to bolt.   Did you know, we poodles athletic, agile, very intelligent and “Hyper Allergenic”? Yes, that’s what I hear. Story
UPDATE 6/18/25: Zacie, as his mom calls him now, continues to learn, be a shadow to mom and enjoy his time with the other dogs in his foster home. Still shy, his "baby steps" continue but you can see he REALLY wants to TRUST, just not able yet. Now sleeping with mom/dad, he is quiet through the night with no potty issues. Walks, romping with other dogs, doing chores or just handing out are his favorite activities!  UPDATE 5/25: Been in Puppy Boot Camp for "2" whole weeks now and making GREAT strides!  Say What? I said GREAT STRIDES! Leash walking: PERFECT House Training: NO ISSUES if let out to potty, do sleep in a kennel Coming When Called: YES, come from a distance but still shy to the hand to come right up to you.  Other Dogs: NO ISSUES! People: Still shy but getting better per mom! I do hang with the other dogs when we are all outside with mom. Follow mom place to place in the yard, she is my person but still shy to her but improving. Routine activities are allowing me to be more comfortable.    UPDATE 5/18: It's been 1 week since arriving at Puppy Boot Camp and I'm really making progress. Shyness is showing MUCH improvement! I'm accepting of a hand towards me, not running away as much at home and getting out/about having a blast! Kids you ask? Well, was petted by "4" children and didn't phase me at all. Nice kidos!  Just look at my new photo session! Love not only furry friends but also "Dragons!" REALLY! Kind of weird smelling, scratchy skin but just glad he didn't lick me with his tongue!  So, all is well here, coming along, getting the hang of "In Home Life" and LOVE!  Keep looking back for new and improved me! Zachary/Zac out for now!   UPDATE 5/10: I'm off to Doggy Boot Camp for socialization and learning what it's like in a real home!  MORE TO COME< STAY TUNED!!!!!!!   Brother to Reno and Fido. Story
FinnIs a very energetic and playful 2 year old doodle. He loves his chew toys and chasing his chew squeaky balls. He is a lap dog and loves to cuddle too. He learns new tricks quickly. We crate him at night with a bed in it. We also crate him when we leave the house. He does well with crating. He does well on a leash. He is house trained. He loves running in circles in the back yard, so a fenced in yard is a must. If you are looking for an energetic loyal companion, he’s your pup.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Gilda was found stray in Lancaster County. While getting to know her, it is becoming clearer and clearer that she was a breeder dog. She is afraid of human touch and will require a very compassionate, patient family to show her what life can really be like. She is a small girl who enjoys the company of other dogs and is just learning what toys are. If you ever wanted to "rescue" a dog, Gilda is your girl! Thank you for considering adoption through ODAAT. Our dedication to our animals goes beyond finding them a home; we aim to match them with families where they will thrive, receiving the love and care they deserve. Please understand that our adoption process prioritizes creating lasting connections over speed, and we do not adhere to a 'first come, first served' approach. Your patience and understanding during this process are deeply appreciated as we strive to ensure the perfect fit for our rescues and your family. Our applications can be found at www.onedogatatime.us. Please watch for a welcome email and send in the requested information so we can process your application. Story
Carter is a 14 month old dog. He is part poodle and part cavalier (Mostly cavalier, just has the long legs and curly hair on his ears like a poodle) He has still a lot of puppy energy. Because of his high energy he needs a place to play outside and a good family that can love and give him attention. So far he has not had much interaction with other dogs and very few interactions with other people. He is very lovable. He doesn't sleep in his crate, but sleeps with me. We very seldom use his crate. He is house trained, however he doesn't like to go out in the rain, so some accidents do happen. He goes to the groomer about every two months and seems to enjoy going. He also doesn't mind going to the vet. He is up-to-date on all his shots and he is micro-chipped. I have to give him up because recently I am in the position of doing elder care for my mom, and with working eight hours a day, I don't have the time to spend with him that he needs.
