Story
Meet Flossy Can you imagine spending seven years bringing life into the world, litter after litter, puppy after puppy, never once having someone love you back? Never having a soft bed that was yours, a person who was yours, a moment that was simply and completely yours? That was Flossy's life. Seven years as a breeding mom, giving everything and receiving so little in return. She is done with that chapter now. And the dog emerging on the other side of it is something truly worth knowing. Flossy is seven years old and she is learning, one careful step at a time, that humans can be kind and safe. She never learned that before and so she is taking nothing for granted. She tends to warm more naturally to men and has a special fondness for her foster dad, which makes complete sense for a girl who spent her life in circumstances that gave her little reason to trust. Her foster mom does everything for her and Flossy is still working on fully letting her in, which is a good reminder that love on Flossy's terms is the only kind that counts and it is worth every moment of patience it requires. She is sweet and gentle and has a quiet affection that reveals itself in her own time and in her own way. She loves to be close to her people, curled up on the couch or tucked into a bed beside someone she trusts. She can use a crate but she is happiest when she has the freedom to roam and choose her own spot, which is usually as close to her humans as she can get on her own terms. She does an absolutely adorable little circle dance at mealtimes and takes treats with the most gentle softness you have ever felt. She is in there, warm and loving and real, and she is coming forward more every day. She does need to be approached with warning and care, particularly when being picked up. She is learning that hands that reach for her mean safety and kindness, but that is a new concept for Flossy and she needs a home that will honor that with patience and consistency. Flossy is on anxiety medication as she works through the big feelings that come with a life like hers. She needs a secure fence without exception as she is a flight risk outdoors. She thrives in a quiet home away from city noise, quick movements, and the unpredictability of young children. A confident and gentle dog companion in the home would help her feel more settled and secure. She needs an experienced and deeply patient adopter who understands that some dogs arrive already loving you, and some dogs arrive having to learn what love even is. Flossy is the second kind. And the person who earns her trust is going to receive something extraordinary in return. She spent 7 years giving everything she had to a world that gave her very little back. She deserves a home that changes that completely and forever.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! *Angel and Baby lived in a VERY filthy home.  When they were found during a "well check" they were immediately picked up and taken away from the crappy existence they had lived in all their life :(   These 2 little girls are the SWEETEST girls EVER and they do not leave each others sight!  We will not separate them they deserve to keep their best friend FUR LIFE!!! If you are looking for a bonded pair you couldn't get a sweeter set! MUST BE ADOPTED AS A BONDED PAIR MUST HAVE FENCE  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Meet Greta! She looks bigger in pictures than she really is. She is only about 35 pounds and a little over a year old. She was pulled from a shelter who had her listed as a terrier mix. We are thinking she is some sort of Doodle; Poodle mixed with…we don’t know what! Her fur is like a terrier. She is a fun, loving dog who is full of energy and curiosity. She enjoys being apart of the group and loved on. Responds well to gentle commands and training. Greta can also be a little strong willed but with some patience and encouragement (treats) she does well. She is a little shy when first introduced to other dogs but soon wants to be friends and play! She is fostered with a mini Dachshund who can be a little grumpy but Greta takes it like a champ! She has not been around cats. She is great with kids and people, is crate trained, and can walk on leash. She needs a little work on potty training but as long a door is available she goes out. Anyone with kids and lots of energy are going to love her so much! She is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, spayed and is microchipped. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them on Saturdays in MD, PA, NJ, or CT. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
Yo! I'm Alfie, a mini poodle boy that is just sooooooo precious!  I'm new to Molly's Place, but making my big splash to the site! Just look at my photo shoot. Cute as a button fur sure! I"m a pure mini poodle, mear 2 years old and 15# "Dripping Wet".  I'm a little scamper so no kids at this time, but I'm good with adults/older children and great with other dogs. Who knows, may even be good with cats considering most are larger than I am. I'd need some time to acclimate to these creatures.  I'm came from a place where I was not given proper training on "House Manors" but I'm picking it up... just not quite there yet so I'm still wearing my "Belly Wrap", but getting closer daily.  More to come so stay tuned. While I"m here my bestest friend is Woody... take a gander at him as well. We stick close and have a hay day in play... who knows, maybe someone would want a us both.. until then, this is Alfie out...  Kennel License #7198 To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org.
