You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!*Diva and her BEST friend Iggy lived in a VERY filthy home.  When they were found during a 'well check' they were immediately picked up and taken away from the crappy existence they had lived in all their life :(  These 2 little girls are the SWEETEST girls EVER and they do not leave each others sight!  We will not separate them they deserve to keep their best friend FUR LIFE!!!If you are looking for a bonded pair you couldn't get a sweeter set!MUST BE ADOPTED AS A BONDED PAIRMUST HAVE FENCEMUST HAVE PATIENCE AS THEY ARE SCARED OF EVERYTHINGVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Story
Personality Overload Special Needs alert Binks has been a huge hit with everyone he has met. We can't believe he still hasn't found his people. Please check out his bio below and apply today. If he's not the right fit for you, please share his story! You never know who might be searching for this little guy Binks is a social little guy who has never met a stranger cuz everyone he meets is instantly his best friend. This little 10 pound guy will steal your heart the moment you lay eyes on him and you will fall madly in love after you hear his story! Binks was surrendered to Zoe's House due to uncontrollable seizures. His previous owners had a very active household and they were unable to provide Binks with the quiet, calm household he needed to live his best life. You see, Binks was born deaf. He cannot rely on his hearing to know what is going on around him and the high activity levels in his previous home were just too much for him to handle. Binks is currently on a low dose of meds for his seizures and they are now much better controlled . He will probably need to continue these meds (about $10 a month) for the rest of his life. Binks is currently in foster care with other dogs of all sizes as well as cats. He loves the other dogs and cats in his foster home and enjoys hanging out with them. He would do well in a home with other pets but he would also be perfectly content as the only "Apple of your eye A low activity home with no children is required for Binks. Visitors are fine, he actually loves kids but the constant commotion of an active young family will be too much for him to handle. Binks is neutered and UTD on vacines, dewormed, and microchipped. He is housebroken when taken out regularly, although regression is common in a new environment. He does not like his crate, at all... he actually HATES it and his protest bark is really loud! So a home where someone is around often would be ideal for him. He just wants to spend his days snuggled next to you on the couch or in bed with you at night. Story
Watch out! Woody is in the house and it’s a party (poodle that is)! This fabulous little guy is a white/blue merle miniature party poodle rescued on 1/13/24. He was initially a little timid, but that is all behind him now. He is a very smart and active little firecracker. He would be a great candidate for agility training. He quickly learned how to walk on a leash and loves all the attention you can give him. Woody’s date of birth is 5/9/22. He weighed 15.6 pounds on 1/15/24. He had been shaved prior to our getting him which is why his hair is so short in his pictures. Woody is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms. He is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain his good health. He was neutered and had a dental on 2/9/24. His adoption donation is $700 which includes the165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Woody, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer will contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
