Welcome Gigi to PK! Gigi came from a local rescue after being brought in from a puppy mill. Despite a poor start to life, this 4-year-old, 20-lb., Miniature Poodle doesn’t let that get her down. She is excited to meet new people and even greets people with the happiest of smiles! Gigi is very affectionate. She loves being carried, sitting on laps, and giving kisses. She’s also always moving, so she’d do best in a home with lots of playtime and physical activity. Coming from a puppy mill, she’ll need some patience adjusting to home life, but she’s so enthusiastic and eager to learn, we think she’ll adapt quickly. She is a flight risk initially and will need a secure home (no open doors, fence gates, never left alone outside, etc.). She’ll also need regular grooming. Meet Sunshine. Sunshine came to us from a commercial breeding kennel. We estimate her to be about 7 years old. She is very petite at just over 6 lbs. Sunshine is a little bit shy but does warm up quickly. She gets along well with other dogs and really likes to be with Stewie who is another poodle she was surrendered with. Sunshine will need work on housebreaking. Her foster does use puppy pads and does have a fenced-in yard which helps with her going potty outside. Sunshine will need a fenced in yard and another friendly small dog in the home. She will also need a calm and patient home that is willing to work on housebreaking and leash work. Sunshine is now spayed, had a dental cleaning, is up to date with vaccines and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm and has been started on monthly heartworm prevention. Meet Stewie. Stewie came to us from a commercial breeding facility. He is a little shy but will bond with his person. He will need a home with another friendly small dog for him to bond with. He does prefer female dogs for snuggling. We were told that Stewie is about 2-3 years old. We estimate his date of birth to be around January of 2023. He is very small at just under 7 lbs. Stewie will need s calm patient home that can work on housebreaking and give him lots of love. Stewie will need a fenced in yard. We are working on crate training as he does not like being in a crate. Stewie is now neutered, had a dental cleaning, is up to date with vaccines and microchipped. Now answering to the name Trip, this resilient one-year-old Cavapoo refuses to let his past define him.
