Story
Meet Hooper! 🐾Hooper is a 7-year-old sweetheart with a loving personality and so much affection to give. He’s a loyal companion who enjoys being close to his people—whether that’s going for a walk, playing to burn off energy, or curling up next to you for some quiet cuddle time.He does best in a home where he can get regular exercise and outlets for his energy, followed by plenty of time to relax and unwind with his favorite humans.Hooper is great with adults and thrives in a calmer environment where he can feel safe and comfortable. He can be a little skittish around young children, so he would do best in an adult-only home or with older, respectful kids who understand boundaries.He’s:House-trainedAffectionate and loyalActive, but loves to snuggle after exerciseHappy with a consistent routineThis decision hasn’t been easy, but with a growing family, we want to make sure Hooper is placed in a home where he can feel completely at ease and continue to thrive.

Story
Meri is a smart and curious little girl. She is one of the first puppies to run up and greet us as she loves people. She will often break away from her siblings and playmates to explore her play area, looking for a toy or just to check things out. Meri is a funny girl, she gets animated when asking for attention. She keeps herself busy when she needs to. She gets along well with the other puppies, she will make a great addition to most families. We are unsure of the exact breed mix this beautiful girl is, even with a photo of mom. We believe she will be a large sized dog as an adult in the 55+ lb range. She is growing fast, we will do our best to keep her photos updated, but just know that she may be a bit bigger. These photos were taken on 3/1/26. We suspect she has Cattle Dog in her, if so she may be do well with super young children, as this breed tends to be "nippy" as they are a hearding breed. She will come current on her vaccines, spayed, microchipped and is on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. **This is an Out Of Town listing. We transport to the city on this listing.** ______________________________ Considering adoption? Start by filling out our online application (copy and paste the following link) https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DIX/dog Once submitted, we’ll review it and reach out to approved applicants by phone or email. All of our animals are rescued and transported from South Mississippi where major animal overpopulation means less homes. We only transport them once adopted, in most instances, we can be available for a video call once an application has been approved. WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks. We facilitate adoptions through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY. Our dogs travel in comfort with 24/7 care. We have been facilitating long distance adoptions since 2019. ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible. *** We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents

Story
Hello Northeastern people! My name is Ella, and I am a pretty brindle Mountain Cur/Terrier mix about 2 years old, and I weigh 55 lbs. I was a stray in Donna, Texas, taken in by a kindhearted man who helps all the stray dogs along the Mexico border, then reaches out to rescues for help. In my case, it was 4 Little Paws Rescue who is helping to cover my care, so now I’m ready to find my future! I am a very friendly girl, sweet and personable, affectionate, and always wagging. I love other dogs, don’t mind kitty cats, great with kids, and love to play. Fetch and tug-o-war are some of my favorite backyard games, but I also love going for walks and going on a road trip for any outdoor adventure. I am very affectionate and will happily share kisses, and if you don't mind 55 lbs in your lap, then I’m a lapdog, LOL. I am well behaved in a home, already housebroken, only bark to alert, and I will happily share my food and toys. I am not a fan of being locked in a crate, so my foster dad lets me stay in the laundry room while he is away, and I cause no problems. He wants you to know that I am obedient and happy, and I have lots of playful energy, but will also chill out when called for… like when we relax on the couch while watching TV. I am dreaming of a family of my own, and I will make a wonderful forever dog! Inquire about me today. Adoption Fee: $400 LOOKING FOR AN APPLICATION? Click on the "More About 4 Little Paws" link. * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.
