Looking Glass Animal Rescue is a 501c3 virtual rescue, using a network of dedicated fosters throughout Louisiana and the Northeast to care for our animals until adoption.  You may be required to travel if approved for adoption.    Looking Glass Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) virtual rescue, using a network of dedicated fosters throughout the Northeast and in Louisiana to care for our animals until adoption.  You may be required to travel if approved for adoption.   Meet Gray - Gray is one of 9 pups who came to us from a situation where their family became overwhelmed and could no longer care for them.  Gray, his mom, and all his siblings joined our pack, were cared for by our veterinary team and prepared for life in a new, forever home.  According to his foster mom, Gray has been easy to please, loves toys and treats, is food motivated when in training, and loves the attention of his family.  Gray is a bit of a velcro dog, loves being with his people and can be a bit protective - nothing a little more training won't cure.    Gray is  shy at first. He will take a short period to warm up to you, but once he’s comfortable, your patience will have earned you a little shadow with a heart of gold.  You can tell by his eyes, Gray is very expressive; every thought he has ever had has been right there on his face. You can SEE him working through new challenges in his training, new experiences out in the world on a leash like an open, fuzzy book. Gray is playful!  He loves rope toys and a good game of tug-o-war!  He's good with other dogs - loves to run and chase.  He's active and busy and looking for a family to share that with.   Gray and his siblings have blossomed since first rescued.  The foster moms working with this crew have been dedicated and determined offering proper care, nutrition, structure, and basic training, and their dedication has paid off.  In fact, Gray has just completed a training program with one of our partners in Louisiana and did great.  Gray is a really good boy and he's learning the ways of life in a happy family environment.   As with all new pets Gray will need time to adjust to his  new family and new s urroundings.   He will also need someone interested in and able to continue his basic training in order to make him the best dog he can be.  Looking for a best friend, hiking buddy, walking buddy, who's energetic and playful - here's your guy!     Applications can be submitted through https://lgarinc.org/adoption-application/.  Please note that you must be 25 years of age to adopt, and we reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone.  All applications are subject to review and approval and a tax-deductible adoption donation is required to be paid prior to adoption day.   Please note that you must be 25 years of age to adopt and we reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone.  Please be advised that we will not approve adoptions to persons who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on this application.  Incomplete applications will not be processed. Tyson is an active boy - he does need to keep moving, play hard, then crash and snuggle.  Tyson's foster family says he's really quite sweet and would do well with a young family.  He is currently living with a 13 year-old and is so smitten with her, following her everywhere!   Tyson is good with other dogs and is agreeable to cats - however he does like a bit of a chase - not to harm, just to chase.  As with all new pets, Tyson will need time to adjust to a new family and surroundings.  We believe he will do well in an active family with time for outdoo r activities plus indoor downtime.  He will also need someone interested in continuing with the basic training he is getting now but missed out on as a very young pup in order to make him the best adult dog he can be.  The effort will be rewarded with love, devotion and compan ionship for a lifetime. Story
Fiona needs a new foster or foster-to-adopt home. About three years old, Fiona came from a large hoarding situation. She is a shy, gentle girl who needs TLC and time to get comfortable in a home. Fiona loves other dogs and we would like to see her in a home with at least one other dog. The activity level of small children would scare her, so an adult home or one with older children would be ideal. She needs a home with a securely fenced yard, and a family who has experience and patience. To foster or foster-to-adopt Fiona please fill out our application - https://www.furryfriendsct.org/foster-application NOTE: Foster or foster-to-adopt families must be located within the state of Connecticut.

Story
If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, Atlas is the guy for you. His unique looks and amazingly sweet and inquisitive personality are products of his rich breed mixture. Atlas (also known as "Mr. Steal Your Heart and Pillow") enjoys long walks, short car rides, exploring, cooling off in creeks, lounging around the house, playing tug, unstuffing plush toys, wrestling and playing the bitey face game with his doggy sibling, cuddling in bed, and anything else that allows him to spend time with his family. At almost 3 years old, he has outgrown most undesirable puppy behaviors, but is still an active boy who requires adequate exercise. He does well with children and other dogs. He has done well with cats! He likes to lead walks and can be overly eager to meet new dog friends, so some training in those areas is recommended. He also gets overwhelmed in busy settings and sometimes experiences stranger danger so it is advised to avoid crowded settings unless addressed by a trainer. He is overnight crate trained, but he becomes anxious when left in the crate for extended periods of time during the day so his ideal home would have a pet parent who is home for the greater part of the day. Atlas is learning how to pull carts. He is a very smart dog and seeks to please his owners. Atlas is house/potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. If you would like to meet this handsome guy and make him part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/

Story
Lyla just loves playing with other dogs She's shy with new people and takes a little time to realize you're just a new friend she hasn't met yet - but a few treats and some time and she'll figure it out! She'd love a home with a securely fenced yard (she hasn't figured out leashes yet) and a dog friend or two - and would be happy to live with teenaged children. This sweet girl came from a large hoarding situation and she has come so far! These days she's a happy girl - and is ready and waiting to find her forever home. If that home could be yours, please fill out an application - https://www.furryfriendsct.org/adoption-application
