Story
Randy: Meet our sweet, playful Red Nosed Randy! When Randy was found wandering, he had what appeared to be a severe abrasion on his nose. It turns out that it was not an injury, but a skin condition. With the help of our vet Randy’s nose has healed but he doesn’t seem to want his fur to grow back! We think he likes being a little different! Randy loves to play and can be a bit rowdy, but with a proper introduction, and patience, he might have fun with another dog. Cats on the other hand should probably stay away! This boy is goofy, fun, and very athletic. If you are interested in a younger dog, who appears to be housebroken (he doesn’t soil his kennel), and is ready to play, come meet Red Nosed Randy. All BCAR dogs are placed as indoor family pets. No electric fences, please. Visit pets every Saturday 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (706-268-1346) or visit our website for adoption information at www.bigcanoeanimalrescue.org

Story
Hazelnut is a 6 year old Cur mix who is very shy but also very sweet. Hazelnut came to us just over a year ago from a hoarding situation. If you have been following us for a while, you might remember some of her former housemates that have already been adopted: Nutter Butter & Timon! Hazelnut can be very reserved, especially in her kennel, but outside of that she is a very loving lady. As you can see in the photo above, she does enjoy affection, she just has to learn that life has so much more to offer than what she has been used to. This lovely lady has lived with multiple other dogs, but we think she would prefer a more calm and quiet home now. And you know what, she absolutely deserves it!     The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.    April 19, 2024, 10:05 pm
