Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxHelga aka Harley is a sweet, gentle soul who has gradually been getting comfortable in her foster's home. She has been doing so well and is starting to shine! Once she knows you, Helga will show her love for you by doing tippy taps when you walk in the door, snuggling with you at night, and maybe even kissing your face when you wake up. She is also so smart, she recently  learned her first command ‘touch’ and is ready  to learn more!  Helga is good with dogs and cats. She is most energetic in the mornings when she likes to run and play with her foster brother after breakfast.  Her days are spent relaxing in her favorite couch spot,  playing with her toys, and enjoying time in  the backyard. When the weather is nice she goes for walks by the river. If you’re looking for someone to hang with you and watch movies, Helga is your girl.  Helga would do well in a calm home with a predictable routine.  She will need a person who can be patient and give her the time she needs to trust and build confidence. It is also important she has another self assured dog in the home to show her that she can be brave. Helga would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard and no shared walls. Come and meet this wonderful pup, she would love a forever home to continue becoming her best self. *Helga would do best in a home with securely fenced yard and no shared walls.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

Story
Hi, I’m Jake! I’m a Mountain Cur mix born approximately 11/20/23. I would love to be a part of your family! I am one of the cutest puppies around. Let’s start with things I love: breakfast, snacks, running in circles in the yard or kitchen, naps on someone’s lap, snacks, playing with friends. Did I mention snacks??  My foster mom says that I’m a typical puppy who loves to play in between my naps and meals. I have loved all the people (big and small) and dogs that I’ve met so far! I’ve also made friends with a cat! I’m learning commands and how to behave like a good boy in my kennel. I sleep through the night and wake up around 7am for breakfast which is my favorite time of day. Actually, snack time is my favorite! I LOVE snacks! I’m learning how to potty outside and use a bell to let everyone know when I need to go out. I do great in the car. I don’t make a ton of noise, mostly when I’m playing with my friends and sometimes when strangers come into the house. When I finally settle down for a nap, I love to be in someone’s lap getting snuggles. If you think I’d be a good fit for your family, I’d love to meet you!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $595.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 17, 2024, 9:16 pm

Story
This is Gene, he’s a Mountain Cur mix born 11/20/23. He is a sweet and curious pup. He can be timid and shy at first but once he warms up, he’s a lot of fun. He loves playing catch and is great with other dogs and the cat he currently lives with. Gene sleeps through the night and is doing so well with potty training. He hasn’t had a single accident and goes to the door if he needs to go outside. He is very treat and food driven. When he is tired, he will simply walk to his kennel and lay down. He is a great cuddler too! Such a good boy and would be an amazing companion.    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Introducing Bella! This lovely 2.5-year-old, 48-pound mountain cur mix is looking for her forever home. Bella’s owner, who sadly has dementia, could no longer care for her, but Bella had been a cherished companion since she was a puppy, and it shows in her good manners and sweet nature.Bella is a laid-back girl who enjoys lounging around and soaking up the sun. She loves her daily walks but is also quite the couch potato, happy to snuggle up beside you for a lazy afternoon. Bella is house trained and leash trained, and she knows not to jump on people. One of Bella’s favorite things is giving little kisses to show her affection. She’s incredibly sweet and gets along well with everyone she meets, including other dogs. If you’re looking for a loving, well-mannered companion to join your family, Bella could be the perfect match for you!Bella’s adoption fee is mostly sponsored by the generous family of her owner!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 17, 2024, 11:15 am
