Story
Bosley is the only boy in our Charles Angels litter. We got a call about 4 puppies that needed help. A young lady had thought she had a rescue lined up and they said they could not take the puppies when she took them to them. She was given our number and after talking to her we could not say no. These poor babies were at a house with no food, they were eating anything they could find. They were also near a road that they would have been killed. Bosley is the sweetest fellow and loves to snuggle. He is doing great with leash training and it would not be difficult to house train him as they are all so smart. He would be great for anyone. We can do a video if you would like too. All of us in the rescue have full time jobs as well as running the rescue so if you are interested in Bosley please go to our website www.doginghampalacerescue.org for our application. Then email the application back to doginghamrescue@aol.com. The fees on our website are very out dated, we are waiting on the lady to update everything. Since covid hit, it is hard to get into vets offices and prices have gone way up. The adoption fee and transport fee is explained below. We are based in the Nashville, TN area and have most of our dogs transported up north. The $450 includes the adoption and transport fee (will have a health certificate too). The transport fee is not refundable if things do not work out.

Story
Charming Carly is a very unique puppy and we call her the resilient pup with a heart of gold! Rescued from a shelter where she once struggled with malnutrition and soft joints, Carly has transformed into a picture of good health and happiness where affection radiates from her as she thrives on love and companionship. Carly not only has charm and sweetness, but her intelligence shines through as she eagerly learns basic commands, making her a joy to train and a wonderful addition to any family.   Carly does well in a crate and is working on house training and leash training.  Carly loves her toys, chasing balls, exploring in the woods, playing in the creek.  But don't let her playful side fool you – Carly equally adores cozy snuggles and tender moments of affection.  Carly is a social butterfly who gets along famously with other dogs and she does well with cats in her foster home, although she wants to give chase a little when outside. With her strikingly pretty dilute brindle coat, Carly is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. Having watched her sister find her forever home, Carly now eagerly awaits her turn to be embraced by a loving family who will cherish her for the incredible companion she is. Could you be the one to make Carly's dreams come true?  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you would like to have an application for adoption sent your way! PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 24, 2024, 9:44 am

Story
**Meet Porthos - One of the Musketeers!**  Porthos is a dashing Mountain Cur/Lab mix born on March 29, part of a litter of TWELVE! With a 45-pound Mountain Cur mom and an assumed Black Lab dad, we estimate Porthos will weigh around 50-60 pounds as an adult. Porthos is a bundle of joy with a great personality, full of affection once he gets to know you. He loves his toys and thrives on a good game of tug. We can picture him happily catching a frisbee or chasing a ball in the park. Porthos hasn't had the chance to be around children, but his friendly nature suggests he would adore them. He's likely to be a great companion for a family with children, a couple, or a single person looking for a loyal friend. Porthos gets along well with other dogs and is eager to make new friends, although he hasn't been tested with cats. All he needs is for you to decide he's the right boy for you! **About Critter Cavalry Animal Rescue (CCR)**   Critter Cavalry Rescue (CCR) focuses on rescuing homeless dogs and some special cats from high-kill shelters in Tennessee. CCR doesn't have a physical location and relies on generous volunteers to foster and care for the animals until they can be adopted. To help decrease euthanasia rates, CCR transports animals from overcrowded rural Tennessee shelters to communities seeking healthy shelter pets. CCR adheres to state legal requirements to safely transport pets to various drop-off points that end in north central Connecticut.  Learn more at [crittercavalry.com](https://crittercavalry.com) and email us at CCRTennessee@gmail.com to request an adoption application!

Story
Due to an ongoing medical situation in our family and concurrent need to move out of our home and into temporary housing, we are looking to find a new home for our beloved Kira. She is such a sweet soul and just wants to be with people, and our current complex situation is making it difficult to give her the quality of life she deserves. ABOUT KIRA —11 y.o., medium-sized, 45 lbs —Thinks she's a lap dog! Wants to cuddle in your arms —Easygoing - doesn't require a strict schedule for wakeup or meal time —Happy to sleep all day but still has energy for adventures —Currently has freedom to go in & out of the house or be let outside to explore the yard, so would do best with fenced-in yard —Very quiet & doesn't bark at things, does whimper for attention —Can be reactive/picky with which dogs she gets along with, so should be the only dog in the home —Great with our young children but for a new home would do best with children ages 8+ who know not to climb on her —Perfect companion/WFH bud

Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.June 25, 2024, 12:56 am

Story
Maisie was originally found in a ditch in rural SC before being saved and taken into rescue. We don't know what happened to her in her short life, but she was completely shut down and withdrawn until another pup, Hattie, came into her foster home. With Hattie's help, Maisie was able to come out of her shell. She has become a real puppy. She loves to play and will sometimes cuddle, on her terms. Maisie definitely wants to be loved, but is shy and needs a patient home that will allow her to decompress. She gets along with other dogs, but takes a little to warm up to them.

Story
This gal has been at the shelter since she was a day old. Her momma was in an abandoned house and brought to us during the snowstorms in January. She and her sister are the last 2 babies to find homes. She will probably be around 45lbs when full grown as that’s what her mama is, we have no idea about the dad. Alyssa is a bit more shy around new people. She likes to play but will take a little time to warm up to her new family. She gets along with other dogs her size, she hasn’t been around too many larger dogs. She will need all the basic puppy training as she’s still young. She is a sweet gal who’s patiently waiting for a forever family.

Story
Our pretty little girl is called Cora and what a loving and sweet little Pointer mix girl she truly is.  She loves playing with other dogs and sleeping in the bed with her foster mom.  This little girl was one of 8 puppies left in an outdoor pen and basically abandoned by the former owner when they loved.  Neighbors stopped by for 3 months to feed and water the puppies and sadly that was all.  They grew and grew and eventually started fighting over the little food they had and the small pen was just so confining. One of the great Critter Cavalry Rescue foster moms heard of their plight and went to get them out of their hot, and confining pen that offered no exercise and not enough food daily…and NO HUMAN LOVE.  Now Cora and her siblings are seeking homes where they can spread their wings and bask in the love and care of their new families.  Cora is remarkably loving and fun and seems to not have been emotionally stunted by their early months of growing up abandoned.  We know that she loves other dogs!  She plays with a 45 pound black lab male that is a year old and “Her and Bo are like two peas in a pod”.  They absolutely love playing together, tug of war, chasing each other in the yard, or just sleeping in the dog bed together.  Cora is good with cats and loves the young children that are in the home, even with all their noise and high energy play.  She is almost there with her potty training and she is good with being in the crate at times needed.  Cora relates to people and loves them.  She always needs to be right by someone and loves to lay on your feet. She has learned not to be possessive of her good or toys as she first started out being.  We totally understood the possessiveness and now she is relaxed and eager to share.  This pretty girl and her siblings have come such a long way.  We are so happy for them to be in out foster care and receiving the love that they so readily deserve.  If you really want to adopt a “rescued dog” then Cora is the total definition of a rescued puppy! If you are interested in making her your own please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com!!! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 24, 2024, 9:44 am

Story
Sometimes in the rescue world our stories about a dog we are presenting for a home just kind of leaves us a little speechless for adequate words. This boy that we call “Good Friend Charlie” is one of those deep and touching stories that we know only God had a hand in making come true as he was rescued. His foster mom Rachel calls him “a dream dog!”  But when she stumbled upon him hanging out on her countryside property where she raises chickens and geese and many other dogs that belong to her…she was not so sure of his friendly intentions.  We believe Charles was dumped in her area where he roamed for approximately 3 months, many attempting to catch him but failing as he was smart and elusive.  He roamed onto foster mom, Rachel’s property and within 2 days came out of survival mode (he would bark and bark at her while she was outside tending to her geese and chickens) and when she offered him a blanket one night as he laid in her flowerbed all curled up in 10 degree weather, he soon came back into domesticated mode the next morning.  Because of being abandoned, Good Friend Charlie has some separation anxiety and will need you to be patient while you earn his trust that he won’t be abandoned again and that you will come back for him when you leave.  This boy loves all other animals; dogs, cats, geese, chickens and he loves people of all ages.  He is only 3 years of age and weighs 50 pounds.  We think the grey on his face might be from early stress in his life.  Maybe from uncertainty that he has felt in whatever former life he lived. Good Friend Charlie is well-trained and knows how to sit, stay, lay down, off and wait. He even waits for permission to exit the door and waits for you to tell him he can eat his food.  He does well on a leash but he prefers to roam on his own and rarely will go more than 4 feet from you. This special dog would be wonderful for someone that does live on some acreage and just wants an indoor and outdoor companion and who is working from home or just retired and kicking back in their life.  He loves to ride in the car shotgun style in the passenger seat and he is a homebody’s best friend.  Charlie knows exactly what he wants and will alert you with a few barks to let you know he wants to go outside, or his water bowl is empty, or even when he is ready for bedtime and he is house trained.  He does have some jealousy if you are giving attention to other animals but he is easily corrected and gets better daily as he learns more about coexisting in this new home environment.  He takes to correction like a champ!  If you really want to adopt a dog that is the definition of “Man’s Best Friend” then Good Friend Charlie is your dog for a lifetime.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to ask about an adoption application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 24, 2024, 9:44 am

Story
Meet Otis, a Pointer/Hound mix boy that came from a hoarding case in Middle Tennessee and sweet as any dog you could meet.  The home he was in had over 30 dogs and because of this crowding condition, he was removed from the home with many other dogs.  He is therefore definitely able to exist with other dogs peacefully.  Big and small dogs are what he was living with.  He has come a long way in the care of Thurman's Place, Boarding & Balanced Training and is now up for adoption!  Otis is approximately 4 years old, 45 lbs and is a tripod.  He lost his leg after he was shot for trespassing on the wrong property when he was much younger.  You could never guess this boy has endured such cruelty from people because he loves everyone and is fabulous with kids!  Otis has a very easy going personality and seems to always wear a smile, inviting you to be his new BFF.  He walks great on a leash, is a quick learner and playful!  Otis is also fine with cats! Crate trained and completely vetted and neutered, he is ready to go.  What more could you want in a family friendly dog!?  He would benefit from a fenced yard, but could certainly be happy visiting dog parks or going for nice leisurely walks.  He just wants to belong and be loved by someone.  Could that be you to make his fairy tale ending happen?  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue if you are interested in this special boy. ccrnewengland@gmail.com is where you can ask for an application.
