Story
Bosley is the only boy in our Charles Angels litter. We got a call about 4 puppies that needed help. A young lady had thought she had a rescue lined up and they said they could not take the puppies when she took them to them. She was given our number and after talking to her we could not say no. These poor babies were at a house with no food, they were eating anything they could find. They were also near a road that they would have been killed. Bosley is the sweetest fellow and loves to snuggle. He is doing great with leash training and it would not be difficult to house train him as they are all so smart. He would be great for anyone. We can do a video if you would like too. All of us in the rescue have full time jobs as well as running the rescue so if you are interested in Bosley please go to our website www.doginghampalacerescue.org for our application. Then email the application back to doginghamrescue@aol.com. The fees on our website are very out dated, we are waiting on the lady to update everything. Since covid hit, it is hard to get into vets offices and prices have gone way up. The adoption fee and transport fee is explained below. We are based in the Nashville, TN area and have most of our dogs transported up north. The $450 includes the adoption and transport fee (will have a health certificate too). The transport fee is not refundable if things do not work out.

Story
Due to an ongoing medical situation in our family and concurrent need to move out of our home and into temporary housing, we are looking to find a new home for our beloved Kira. She is such a sweet soul and just wants to be with people, and our current complex situation is making it difficult to give her the quality of life she deserves. ABOUT KIRA —11 y.o., medium-sized, 45 lbs —Thinks she's a lap dog! Wants to cuddle in your arms —Easygoing - doesn't require a strict schedule for wakeup or meal time —Happy to sleep all day but still has energy for adventures —Currently has freedom to go in & out of the house or be let outside to explore the yard, so would do best with fenced-in yard —Very quiet & doesn't bark at things, does whimper for attention —Can be reactive/picky with which dogs she gets along with, so should be the only dog in the home —Great with our young children but for a new home would do best with children ages 8+ who know not to climb on her —Perfect companion/WFH bud

Story
Maisie was originally found in a ditch in rural SC before being saved and taken into rescue. We don't know what happened to her in her short life, but she was completely shut down and withdrawn until another pup, Hattie, came into her foster home. With Hattie's help, Maisie was able to come out of her shell. She has become a real puppy. She loves to play and will sometimes cuddle, on her terms. Maisie definitely wants to be loved, but is shy and needs a patient home that will allow her to decompress. She gets along with other dogs, but takes a little to warm up to them.

Asha’s owners loved her, but had a farm and she had a taste for the owner's chickens and made the choice to surrender her. Asha is high energy and loves to play, but also loves her snuggles and to be with people. She has tested well with dogs, but due to her prey drive towards chickens, we are hesitant to suggest a home with small animals/cats. Asha is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for her new home. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. You can apply at www.animalharbor.org . If approved, we will facilitate a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions you may have. We partner with the awesome transport service company Rescue Riders to safely and professionally move our animals to their loving new homes!

Vance's basic bio is below, but we maintain more detailed information about each of our animals on our website, which is also always up to date with animals removed immediately once they are adopted. Please visit Vance's page on our site (https://www.muddypawsrescue.org/adoptable?dog=006842) to learn even more about Vance! Additionally, please note that the breed listed for Vance is just our best guess based on the dog's physical features. We cannot make any guarantees about the accuracy of our guesses. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO VOLUME, WE ARE GENERALLY UNABLE TO RESPOND TO INQUIRIES MADE USING THE 'ASK ABOUT ME' BUTTON. Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Vance is a joy to host! He's come so far since arriving in NYC! He is so playful and loves to be nearby his humans. He always wants to be in the mix of things. He enjoys early morning & late evening walks when NYC's noises aren't as loud. He sniffs his way along his walks within our green complex grounds. Vance can be coaxed into sitting outside in the sun and watching life go by, it’s helped him understand what causes which noises. He only has one working eye due to a birth defect but gets by pretty well despite that. He is very comfortable inside, even in an apartment on a noisy intersection. He also does much better with a routine, he is much more comfortable outside when he recognizes the path to get wherever he's going - and thrilled if there is a Pup Cup rewarded along the way. He is so playful with his toys, he prances around the apartment with his squeaky toy balls & plushies. Vance will bring a favorite toy over to you to play with him too. He plays a mean game of indoor fetch! He is crate trained and easily sleeps on his bed inside it until he’s let out for walks or to play - overnight or for periods during the day. Vance does the best full-body stretches when he is let out of the crate! He will also curl up next to you on the couch, when allowed, and will sleep peacefully against you with quiet snores. He will reward you with wet kisses when he’s happy and comfortable. He eats 3x/day with portions split between a slow-feeder & a Kong chew toy. He will eat basically any treat you give him. He is very food motivated and will follow you around the kitchen thinking he will be getting a treat just for being there. He gets a lick mat with peanut butter (his favorite) & puzzle board with treats for extra enrichment time. We go out for walks about every 5-6 hours. His first walk is usually between 630-7AM and the last one is between 11-12PM. He is house-trained but had two accidents when he first arrived. We’ve been using a gentle leader & leash for walks recently to help train him to heel better and to be a little less stressed on the walks. He's been trained to sit, stay, and come. He will do so well in his forever home, with lots of love and encouragement!

Since coming to the suburbs, she has really come out of her shell. Violet has gotten along with all other dogs she has met and would love a brother or sister romp with. She is SUPER food motivated, but will back off when we tell her she can't have ours. Treats and bones are her jam. Give her peanut butter and she'll be your best friend. She is a super smart girl who has been very receptive to training. She loves to learn and use her brain! The longer she has been with us, the lazier she has gotten, taking long naps during the day until she decides it's playtime around 8:00pm. Previous fosters have mentioned that she has lived with kids with disabilities and did well with them. She has been at our place during two family gatherings and everyone just fell in love with her. She is a sweetie who will melt your heart with her puppy eyes and cuddle sessions. You can find more pictures and videos of her by following her on Instagram @adopt.violet

Story
Our pretty little girl is called Cora and what a loving and sweet little Pointer mix girl she truly is.  She loves playing with other dogs and sleeping in the bed with her foster mom.  This little girl was one of 8 puppies left in an outdoor pen and basically abandoned by the former owner when they loved.  Neighbors stopped by for 3 months to feed and water the puppies and sadly that was all.  They grew and grew and eventually started fighting over the little food they had and the small pen was just so confining. One of the great Critter Cavalry Rescue foster moms heard of their plight and went to get them out of their hot, and confining pen that offered no exercise and not enough food daily…and NO HUMAN LOVE.  Now Cora and her siblings are seeking homes where they can spread their wings and bask in the love and care of their new families.  Cora is remarkably loving and fun and seems to not have been emotionally stunted by their early months of growing up abandoned.  We know that she loves other dogs!  She plays with a 45 pound black lab male that is a year old and “Her and Bo are like two peas in a pod”.  They absolutely love playing together, tug of war, chasing each other in the yard, or just sleeping in the dog bed together.  Cora is good with cats and loves the young children that are in the home, even with all their noise and high energy play.  She is almost there with her potty training and she is good with being in the crate at times needed.  Cora relates to people and loves them.  She always needs to be right by someone and loves to lay on your feet. She has learned not to be possessive of her good or toys as she first started out being.  We totally understood the possessiveness and now she is relaxed and eager to share.  This pretty girl and her siblings have come such a long way.  We are so happy for them to be in out foster care and receiving the love that they so readily deserve.  If you really want to adopt a “rescued dog” then Cora is the total definition of a rescued puppy! If you are interested in making her your own please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com!!! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 23, 2024, 9:08 am

Story
My name is Breanna and I am a pretty little girl puppy that is almost 5.5 months old and born around May 1st.  I won’t bore you with the sad story because most of the southern pups have one, but I was lucky that me and my 7 siblings got out of our situation alive.  I didn’t have the best start to my life and I wasn’t handled by loving people when my litter was born.  In fact the people moved off and left all of my litter in an outdoor pen with no food or water.  Luckily some neighbors there in the country learned of this and brought us some food and water a few days each week.   I have to eat all by myself because I am fearful another dog might take my food if there is one around.  But my foster mom says that I am the most loving and dearest, sweetest girl on the planet.    I love to snuggle with her and I love to have her tell me how pretty that I am and loved, too. Naturally when I first meet new people, I am timid for just a short time and then I warm up when I feel that they will be nice to me.   I adore playing and being with other dogs and I could be at a dog park every day and I would be in heaven.  I could also live with other dogs or cats in a home and that would be fun too!  My foster mom says that I am like a Teddy Bear at night as I sleep right next to her in the best snuggle position ever.  I am crate trained and I truly like my crate and sometimes when I want some alone time I will go there on my own.  I would love to have a family with another dog that could be my best friend and show me the ropes of confidence.   I also would like to go to some fun training classes too.  I am smart and would love to learn more about being the best dog I can be.  I am using a harness right now and that is my best way to walk on a leash.  I will whine when I need to go outside but it is still hard for me to go 8 hours straight without going outside.  When I grow up I will be a 45 -50 pound girl.  I will be a loving and very devoted girl that you always be proud that you rescued and adopted.  Let’s be forever friends!   Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com right now!    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 23, 2024, 9:08 am

Story
Sometimes in the rescue world our stories about a dog we are presenting for a home just kind of leaves us a little speechless for adequate words. This boy that we call “Good Friend Charlie” is one of those deep and touching stories that we know only God had a hand in making come true as he was rescued. His foster mom Rachel calls him “a dream dog!”  But when she stumbled upon him hanging out on her countryside property where she raises chickens and geese and many other dogs that belong to her…she was not so sure of his friendly intentions.  We believe Charles was dumped in her area where he roamed for approximately 3 months, many attempting to catch him but failing as he was smart and elusive.  He roamed onto foster mom, Rachel’s property and within 2 days came out of survival mode (he would bark and bark at her while she was outside tending to her geese and chickens) and when she offered him a blanket one night as he laid in her flowerbed all curled up in 10 degree weather, he soon came back into domesticated mode the next morning.  Because of being abandoned, Good Friend Charlie has some separation anxiety and will need you to be patient while you earn his trust that he won’t be abandoned again and that you will come back for him when you leave.  This boy loves all other animals; dogs, cats, geese, chickens and he loves people of all ages.  He is only 3 years of age and weighs 50 pounds.  We think the grey on his face might be from early stress in his life.  Maybe from uncertainty that he has felt in whatever former life he lived. Good Friend Charlie is well-trained and knows how to sit, stay, lay down, off and wait. He even waits for permission to exit the door and waits for you to tell him he can eat his food.  He does well on a leash but he prefers to roam on his own and rarely will go more than 4 feet from you. This special dog would be wonderful for someone that does live on some acreage and just wants an indoor and outdoor companion and who is working from home or just retired and kicking back in their life.  He loves to ride in the car shotgun style in the passenger seat and he is a homebody’s best friend.  Charlie knows exactly what he wants and will alert you with a few barks to let you know he wants to go outside, or his water bowl is empty, or even when he is ready for bedtime and he is house trained.  He does have some jealousy if you are giving attention to other animals but he is easily corrected and gets better daily as he learns more about coexisting in this new home environment.  He takes to correction like a champ!  If you really want to adopt a dog that is the definition of “Man’s Best Friend” then Good Friend Charlie is your dog for a lifetime.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to ask about an adoption application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 23, 2024, 9:08 am
