Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Some dogs come to us with very special needs and BamBam is one of those dogs.  While he is a playful pup full of energy and affection, he is also extremely fearful of the world.  This fear can manifest into making him protective and reactive.  As his anxiety traits present a challenge, a quiet, experienced and patient home is required to address his needs.  He should also be in a home without children or other pets.  Among his many positive qualities, he is quiet, house trained, crate trained, and he will sit nicely and lift his paw for a treat.  He is extremely shy when meeting new people but once BamBam feels comfortable, he will be your loyal companion forever!    **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Story
Meet Star! 🌟 Star is a 4-year-old Catahoula/Hound mix with a heart every bit as big as her personality. This girl has been through more than most dogs ever should - she was shot, and the bullet went through her jaw and ear. She underwent jaw surgery, and as a result, her tongue now hangs out permanently. But Star doesn’t let her past define her. She is pure resilience wrapped in sweetness. Star is incredibly affectionate and so happy-natured. She loves to run, explore, and play, but she also knows how to wind down and melt into you for snuggles - the perfect balance of fun and companionship. She does wonderfully with kids and gets along beautifully with other dogs, but would do best in a feline-free home as her instints may lead her to chase. She enjoys car rides and would make a wonderful adventure buddy for someone who wants a loyal co-pilot by their side. She’s very smart, already knows “sit,” and uses the doggie door like a total pro. Star is spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to find the family who will love her for the amazing, one-of-a-kind girl she is. If you’re looking for a dog with a beautiful soul and an even more beautiful spirit, Star is your girl. 💛🐾 RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Please visit us on Facebook: Rebecca's Paws and Claws in Remlap and our website: www.rpacirescue.org. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the Pennsylvania/ New England/ Virginia area and delivered in Pennsylvania, Virginia and RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog. Story
Simone just took her freedom ride. This adorable, 1-year old white and merle catahoula hound/bully mix with the gorgeous blue eyes is shy but so sweet....she arrived at the shelter with a head tilt of unknown origin and partially deaf. It doesn't stop her once she has warmed up from running/playing and exploring. She will do best in a home with another dog. While she’s spunky and brave when playing with other dogs, she also has a calm, thoughtful side that makes her easy to fall in love with. 💕 An adopter with experience with a shy dog and patience but it will be so rewarding to allow this sweet smart girl to thrive. She's waiting for someone like YOU to adopt her and show her the world! This terrific pup came from an overcapacity rural shelter in North Carolina that was making tough decisions, especially for a special needs dog. It took a village to make sure that Simone and some long-timers (such as Bingo) were safe. We were able to bring Simone to the DC area so she will have the second chance that she deserves. She’s currently working on crate and house training, and making progress! Whether she’s curled up in your lap or off on a mini mission of discovery, Simone is the perfect mix of sweet, tender and submissive. Simone is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. Story
https://foha.org/pet/kobe2025/ ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Hi, I’m Kobe — a pretty chill and sweet guy who’s still getting used to life here. I’m a bit reserved and sometimes cautious around new people, but once you earn my trust, I’m friendly and affectionate. I love my walks and enjoy playing with tennis balls and squeaky toys. A calm, single-dog home with an experienced owner who understands me and can continue working on my training will help me thrive. I’m ready to relax and be your loyal companion. HOW AM I WITH DOGS: Best suited for a single-dog home. HOW AM I WITH CATS: Not compatible with cats. HOW AM I WITH KIDS: Good with kids. I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS: I respond well to “leave it,” “drop it,” and other basic commands, but I need continued consistent training to manage my resource guarding. MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: House-trained. Comfortable in a calm, structured environment. THINGS I LIKE: Walks with loose leash, tennis balls, squeaky toys, treats, calm companionship. THINGS I DISLIKE: Resource guarding triggers, sudden approaches without patience, high-value items left unattended. Story
Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet girl ready to play! SAMMIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Sammie and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (12/28) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!     Name:    Sammie        Best Guess for Breed:  Catahoula mix Best Guess for Age: Will be 6 months as of 12/7/25          SEX:   female   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  24.7 lbs as of 12/1/25   Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. She currently lives with a cat and is doing well! We are happy to discuss integration techniques with adopters.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Sammie is Looking For:   Her forever home! Sammie is a baby girl eagerly looking forward to having her own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. And dog school so he can show how super smart she is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together. And she will want quality kibble and a cushy dog bed.  Most of all, though, she wants to know she is safe and loved. In exchange she promises all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags she can store up, and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Is Sammie the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: Sammie is such a sweet and playful girl! She loves to cuddle and follow people around for pets. She can be shy with new people but warms up quickly as she builds trust. Sammie loves to play with other dogs and does really well with meeting new dogs! She also is happy to play with or chew on a toy to entertain herself. She is doing very well with outdoor potty training and knows to “go potty” on cue. She is able to hold it through the night in her crate and does well sleeping in there. Sammie listens very well and is eager to please - she already knows how to “sit” and “come.” Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life! Please visit us online at        www.luckydoganimalrescue.org       . BE A FOSTER!!!       Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs!  To learn about fostering, please contact fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
