Meet Hudson!Hudson is a 5-month-old, 34-pound mixed-breed pup who may have some Plott Hound in the mix. He joined BDC after a local animal control officer was asked to help rehome him when he was bought from a breeder to a couple who was living somewhere that didn`t allow dogs. Like a lot of people who take home a puppy, they also quickly learned that puppyhood is… a LOT. So Hudson found his way to BDC, and we’re determined to find him a family who is ready for all the fun, chaos, and hard work that comes with raising a puppy.Hudson is a very sweet, very typical puppy who is still figuring out how to be a dog in this big world. He’s working hard on his house training, crate training, leash skills, and basic manners, but he’s also still chewing things he shouldn’t, getting a little too excited, and occasionally failing to realize that what he really needs is a nap. In other words: he’s a puppy!He is still very early in his training journey, so his new family will need to be committed to continuing his positive-reinforcement training, including puppy classes, to help him grow into the well-adjusted family dog we know he can become.Hudson could live with teens and another playful, dog-savvy pup who is up for some puppy antics. He’ll need a family who has the time, patience, and energy to keep up with a growing puppy and help him learn all those important life skills.No cats, please, and no apartments. His foster says: `Hudson is a playful, smart, and treat-motivated puppy who loves people and other dogs. He knows “sit” and “down,” is house-trained, responds to his name, and stays close to us and my dogs during walks.Hudson enjoys playing with my large dogs, balls, sticks, bones, and stuffed animals, but he also knows how to settle in for a good nap. When he sleeps, he loves being cuddled up next to one of his foster dog friends—or right beside his person. Like any puppy, he is still learning that toys are for chewing, so he will need continued guidance and supervision.He is comfortable on car rides and approaches new experiences with confidence. He greets dogs his size and larger very well and enjoys canine companionship. On leash, Hudson is learning not to pull and may weave a little as he explores. He does have a special interest in chasing the broom, so sweeping is more fun—and more challenging—with him around!Hudson is an affectionate, confident puppy who would thrive with a family ready to continue his training, provide plenty of playtime, and include him in daily life.`He is available for adoption in Groton or Hopkinton, MA by appointment. MEET MANNY! My adoption fee is waived through the Jeff`s Fund!Manny is an intelligent and enthusiastic young dog whose favorite activities include rolling in the grass, entertaining himself with squeaky toys, and going on car rides. His claims to fame are that he is very well potty trained in his foster home and he can be left alone each day for a few hours in his crate. He greets new people by rubbing up against them like a cat, and greets new dogs with a play bow and wagging tail. He bonds hard to his people and enjoys sleeping every night in his foster`s bed. He would benefit greatly from an adopter who can keep up his structured routine as well as give him all the enrichment he needs. Stella is a little girl only 35lbs and around 18 months so she won’t get any bigger She has the best ears and likes to be a little goofy! Dumped in the deep woods with another little dog, she was very lucky to be found. She’s great with other dogs, loves people, and has been around older children, she doesn’t jump up, and has an energy level of about 7/10 with a bit of couch potato thrown in too. She’s also house trained!

Meet sweet Stormy, a beautiful young brindle girl with a joyful spirit, lots of energy, and plenty of love to give!Stormy’s rescue story began during a torrential storm in Tennessee, when she was spotted running through the pouring rain, soaking wet and frightened. Thankfully, a kind person stopped to help and contacted rescue. It was soon discovered that Stormy also had a painful wound on her neck from an embedded collar. Those difficult days are behind her now, and Stormy is ready for the wonderful life she deserves.Stormy absolutely loves people and is always looking for affection and attention. She is a very active young girl, so children over 12 would be the best fit—not because she means any harm, but because her enthusiasm could easily send a smaller child tumbling!She is also great with other dogs and loves heading outside with her canine foster siblings to run, chase, and play. With her very high energy level, an active family that will give her plenty of exercise, playtime, and adventures would be ideal.Stormy walks on leash, but her adopter will want to keep a good hold if a bird or squirrel catches her eye—her instinct is definitely to give chase! She is a great traveler, happily hops in and out of the car, and loves watching the world go by through the windows.At home, Stormy is house trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She's been overlooked for MONTHS, and it's time for Donna to finally have her happily ever after! Meet Donna, a gorgeous 10–11-month-old girl weighing 43 lbs. We suspect she may be a Plott Hound/Bull Terrier mix, although her exact breed is unknown. She's believed to be fully grown, which means she's the perfect medium-sized companion for someone looking for a little adventure, a lot of love, and plenty of laughs! But Donna's story is about more than her adorable personality. 💔 🏡 A PROMISE THAT FELL THROUGH Donna and her siblings were taken in by a kind facility when they were tiny babies because a rescue had promised to take them all. Unfortunately, that rescue never followed through on taking every puppy, leaving the facility to care for the little ones. One by one, Donna's siblings found homes. But Donna was left behind. She's now been at the sanctuary for approximately EIGHT MONTHS, watching other dogs get their chance while she continues to wait for someone to choose her. Our rescue has stepped in to help Donna find the family she's always deserved. ❤️ And trust us… this girl has SO much love and personality to offer! 😂 A LITTLE CRAZY, BUT THE BEST KIND OF CRAZY! Donna is a fun-loving, goofy girl who keeps life interesting! She's very food- and treat-motivated, which makes her a great candidate for continued training. Donna is also a certified couch potato. Her ideal family is a beautiful mix of active and lazy. She wants adventures and playtime, but she also wants to relax at home with her people.
