Story
Theo is truly the best dog! He is currently 5.5 years old and weighs 73lbs last time I checked. He is a total attention seeker, and loves to have all of the love and affection someone can offer him. He is house and crate trained, with the occasional accident (hasn’t happened in a very long time). He is great with other dogs and children, as he is gentle and submissive. He loves going to the dog park and going for walks; he’s even great on car rides. He is still young at heart so with that comes a lot of energy and excitement when he meets new people. He’s a loving dog that deserves a loving home. **if adopted, I’d love to give you whatever food he has, dog bowls, food container & crate. (crate is slightly damaged but still works)

Story
Nash was found wandering the streets of Arlington but no one came for him.  His shelter 'before' pictures are included, and it's hard to believe this is the same dog!  He went from malnourished, scared and shaking to outgoing and friendly within his first week of freedom. He was adopted by a wonderful family but over the last couple years their family dynamic has changed and they do not feel Nash is best suited in a home with babies/toddlers. He likes his toys and his snacks so in a home where little ones do not understand those boundaries, it’s not the best match for Nash. He does well with kids but we do recommend teenage or older because they can understand his boundaries.  Nash has turned out to be a very loving, affectionate boy, who is now both house trained and crate trained.  He takes treats gently.  He is doing great with basic training but is still working on manners and learning to walk on a leash.  Nash does well with dogs of all sizes although he would also be very happy as an only dog. Nash is heartworm negative, he has been neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and is ready for his forever home. Due to an injury on this tail that continued being re-injured due to his constant tail wagging, we did have to amputate it and now he has an adorable little nub that he is able to wag furiously! You can apply to meet with/adopt him here: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ DOB: 6/17/18 (approx) Weight: 60 lbs We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. Story
Key and Radio are BFF's and they both LOVE to play together! They would be great with other active playful dogs in their new home. The only thing Key wants for the New Year is a home - a forever home - where she'll be loved and truly considered part of the family. She's been unlucky in love in the past, but she doesn't let it stop her from excitedly greeting and loving every new person who comes her way. To Key, a stranger is just a friend she hasn't met yet - and friends provide attention and sometimes even yummy treats! Key adores getting attention, especially shoulder massages and gentle back scratches. She knows how to sit and waits very patiently for treats when you reward her and takes them very gently. She would love to join you on some weekend hikes no matter the weather - there are so many amazing things to see and sniff and explore with a friend!  Meet Key! She is a Plott Hound mix (with Dutch Shepherd and Louisiana Catahoula thrown in for good measure), she has the most beautiful brindle coat in the colors of molasses and honey, soft silky fur, soulful eyes and adorable tipped ears. Key weighs 42 pounds and is a year and half old.   She has a sweet personality, is lively and active and her tail wags constantly.   Key is well mannered on a leash and loves to go on walks with her foster mom, she is house, and crate trained and GREAT with other dogs and older respectful children. She is a friendly girl and is happy for pets and snuggles. She makes her foster mom smile!   Key is hoping to attract the attention of a family who will love her as a member of the family forever. She's deserving of finding a committed person or family who will give her love and attention and will not give up on her. She loves to play with other dogs and would be best with another active dog to play with and share toys... particularly stuffed toys. Key would like to have daily play time, exercise, walks and is happy to learn commands and new things. Please assist Key by networking for a wonderful, committed family.  She is spayed, UTD on vaccinations, Heartworm Negative, and Micro Chipped. If you think Key might be the family member you are missing, please complete an application on our website and her foster mom will be in touch. Apply for her today at:     https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. Story
Say “hi” to Kola!  She’s our beautiful, sensitive, sweet, playful puppy.  At just seven months, she’s a little under 30 pounds, so will be the perfect size for someone who is active but doesn’t have a ton of space.   She loves playing with her other doggy friends (she lives with three) and cuddling with her foster parents.  She is house & kennel trained! She knows commands: sit, off, come. She is working on stay. She loves to play with her foster sibling, and also loves to cuddle in bed with her foster family. She rarely barks, and has great house manners, especially for a young lass. She's a little shy at first, but give her a few pets and she'll be your best friend! Kola would be a great family pet. Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org ##1954764##
