Story
Panda has received basic obedience training, and loves to do agility training. Panda is a smiley, energetic girl who loves to run and stalk her friend Sonny. She was terrified when she first arrived and was reactive. Now she walks thru the room full of dogs she does not know with a sniff here and there but heads straight for her crate. she crates very well, and she will not mess in her crate. she loves to explore the big field, chase squirrels and play. Panda would be a wonderful hunting dog once trained. she stalks her friend like she is a cat...getting low to the ground, silently growing nearer to her prey, and then pouncing. she is very fast as well, and can jump like an nba player. Please consider giving Panda her forever home. Her adoption fee is $250 and includes her vetting, spay, and microchip.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Star! She is a 4 yr old spayed female plott hound/boxer mix that weighs 50lbs and is microchipped. She was an owner surrender on 1/12 due to the owners had too many animals. Star is just that, such a bright light you can see her eyes. She has been an inside pup and very well taken care of. Except for the top of her head which appears to be a cluster of lipomas. She will be visiting the vet to confirm if that is the case. The noise at the shelter does make her uneasy as you can understand. She has a calm personality and walks very well on a leash, takes treats gently and has been housetrained. She has lived with other dogs, yet we do always ask if there will be another dog in the family to please ask the shelter for a dog test. She finds comfort in being petted and close to her human companions. This lovely girl would make a great family companion. One that will stay committed to her and have the secured backyard to run and play in, but be an inside pup to cuddle close and watch tv with. Please give this lovely girl a chance.

Story
If Drako could speak and if he was humble, he'd have bragging rights. He's got so much going for him! He is a three-year-old 67 pound Plott Hound mix with a glossy brindle coat. He is already fixed. He came in as a stray on 4/27. He was microchipped, and his owners were called but they chose not to come get him. I just can't figure that one out. I seldom fall for a dog as quickly as I did for Drako but he captured my heart with his loving, friendly, easy-going, playful, happy personality! He no sooner got out into the yard when he found a squeaky toy and ran around joyfully squeaking it! He chases balls and retrieves them .... all the time wagging his tail! He sits for treats and gives his paw. He takes treats gently. He's very well behaved and wants to please. As big as he is, he's extremely gentle! He's curious and alert and explored the yard but kept coming back to me. I seldom say this, but I really think he's housebroken. He kept his kennel clean and it was obvious when he got out in the yard he had been saving it for a long time. He walked relatively well on leash. I did not see any reaction one way or the other meeting other dogs. We suggest if you have another dog to ask the shelter staff to do a dog test. I just can't say enough about Drako. He's an amazing guy and would make an amazing pet for an active family. He would most likely do well with children. He would need a large yard to play in and a loving family to love on! He would want to spend his evenings with his new family curled up watching TV or just enjoying family time.

Story
Look at this sweet boy, right here! His name is Chip, and he was rescued after wandering a neighborhood for weeks, having apparently been dumped. He is believed to be a Plott Hound mix; and, at approximately a year-and-a-half, he weighs in at 57 pounds. He has been wormed, fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Chip is good with other dogs, and even does well with cats! He appears to prefer ladies, but warms up nicely to men with just a little time. He walks well on-leash, he's crate trained, and house training is coming along nicely! His foster Mom says that Chip thinks he's a lap dog much of the time; and full of fun the rest of the time. Loves to see the squirrels...he wants to play, but they just bark at him! He takes treats from you fingers ever so gently and is a great snuggle buddy on the couch and in the bed! Chip lives to please, and responds quickly to both praise and reprimand. This boy just wants to be loved!! Please complete the application you will find near his photos on our website, (www.baytownhumanesociety.org), if you are interested in giving Chip the loving home he deserves! You will never find a more grateful canine companion!!
