Story
Harper loves to be close! She is a one to two year-old plott hound/black mouth cur mix that weighs 63 pounds and arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/4 as a stray. She appeared to be timid in her kennel, but once she got out in the yard she came to life! .She was frisky and was attempting to entice me to play with her. She does fetch and retrieve balls. She sits for treats and takes them gently. She comes when you call her. She’s friendly, outgoing, active, and affectionate. She didn’t have a problem meeting other dogs. She walked OK on a leash. She would like to have a yard to stretch her legs in and to play in but would like to spend most of her time inside cuddling up with her new family.

Story
Hi! I'm Atticus! I'm an approximately 8 year old, male, Plott Hound/Lab mix. I was found at Terry Park in Heath on 12/17/2024 and never reclaimed. I am excited to find a family who will love and cherish me. I enjoy a snuggly bed and warm blankets and still love to run and play! Since I am in a foster home, meet and greets will be by approved application only. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, and basic boosters. I did test heartworm positive but thanks to Rockwall PAWS I will be able to start my treatment protocol immediately at no cost to my adopter. That is when I do get adopted. If you have any questions about my heartworm treatment or heartworms fell free to ask an RAC staff member. They are happy to answer any questions you have. If you are interested in bringing me home as a new member of your family, please visit https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ to fill out an application!  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Story
Meet Reese! She's a sweet happy girl with a lot of love to give. Reese is good with kids, cats, other dogs, and all people. She loves to play with her giant rope toy and lets out one big 'ruff!' when she needs to go out or is ready to come in. She loves a big dog bed or a nap on the couch. I met Reese on my first day volunteering at the animal shelter. She had been there an entire year sleeping on the cold concrete floor. (She was surrendered by someone who loved her.) Reese is a plot hound. I believe she went unadopted because she looks like a Rottweiler or pit bull. When we met four-year-old Reese, she was skinny and limping. Two years later, she's chubby and happy. When the weather is bad you can tell she hurts a bit, but it doesn't keep her from being happy. (She reminds me of me, lol.) She does have hip issues that are managed with periodic medication. It is heartbreaking that we find ourselves in a position to rehome her due to personal issues, but we are hopeful she will find the forever home she truly deserves. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Reese, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Gordon enjoys playing with other dogs and getting belly rubs. He is potty trained and knows basic basic commands. (sit, focus and come). He loves to cuddle and hang out. He’s up for whatever you are!  He has not lived with kids but is very sweet and would do great in a family setting or with a single. Story
Lola was rescued from a local shelter and now her owner has to give her up to no fault of her own.  She is a gorgeous, sweet girl.  She is great with small dogs and seems a bit timid with large dogs but we think she would be fine in time as she gets to know them.  She is obedient and aims to please.  She is about 9 months old, Jan. 2024, and weighs 50 lbs. ##1623586##

Story
Meet Loretta Lynn, a sweet Southern belle who's as gentle as a morning breeze. Our Loretta may share a name with the queen of country music, but she's definitely not one for the spotlight—she’s more into quiet cuddles than belting out tunes. She loves her strolls, happily trotting by your side, though she does have one quirky preference: she prefers dog friendly cats only! One hiss from a feisty feline, and she was ready to hightail it in the opposite direction.Loretta Lynn is a darling cattle dog who’s just knee-high but has a heart that's larger than life. This little country queen is as sweet as sweet can be and loves nothing more than leaning into you for love and affection—her version of a warm hug! With her warm, soulful eyes and easygoing spirit, Loretta Lynn is pure sweetness wrapped in fur. If you’re looking for a softhearted companion to bring a little love into your life, Loretta’s ready to charm her way into your heart.
