Story
Meet Zoe, a Chihuahua born approx 3/7/2020. Zoe is a sweet girl who has had a lot of transitions in her life. She can be a little slow to warm up, but once she does, she is very cuddly. She has seemed to attach strongly to the mom of the house and does get anxious when she leaves, but eventually settles down. She’s been alone up to 6 hours, has been free floating around the house, and has not had any accidents or destroyed anything during that time. Zoe is house-trained, and scratches at the door when she needs to be let out. She is not kennel trained. She has been great with our 3.5 year old daughter. Initially she was respectful and a little afraid of our cat, but she has had a few instances of lashing out toward the cat, She has been great with our small dog, and has met other big dogs on leash and has reacted positively. She loves walks, and while she pulls sometimes, she is easily redirected. Zoe is a medium energy level. She loves running off-leash on our acreage, but can also curl up on the couch and be content. In the car Zoe wants to ride on your lap, but also does fine in the kennel during rides. Zoe is treat motivated, playful, and sweet and will make a great family dog for a very lucky family.    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi, I’m Maggie. Im a 2 year old chihuahua mix! I came to mn from Mexico, where i was found living in a hole inside a rock mountain. When I got to mn my foster mom realized I was limping quite a bit. It then was determined by our vets that I needed a double back knee surgery as I had luxating patella in both my back knees. Don’t worry, my foster momma did all the hard work and I feel so much better now and am like a brand new dog!  Now for the fun part! I am such a joy to have around. At first I am not trusting of people but once I learn you wanna be my friend we can be best friends. I am goofy and will play with other dogs big or small but it may take me a few days to warm up to them. When I am in cuddle mode, I don’t like to share my space with other animals and may snap at them if they disturb my sleep. I love cuddles, I am the most cuddly girl ever especially with this thing called winter. I would rather curl up and cuddle with you under a blanket all day long. I am kennel trained and do really enjoy hanging in my kennel. I am for the most part potty trained, occasionally I have accidents here and there but 98% of the time I go outside. I sleep in bed curled up next to my foster momma all night long. As for cats they are fine, if they are more active cats I may try to play with them or chase them but I leave the more laid back cats alone. I will bark at new people coming into the house but will calm down and as long as they leave me alone they can stay. If they are too intrusive or in my face too much at our initial meeting I may growl. I never snap or bite though. I just need some extra time to learn new people are okay!  Anyways do you think you could be my forever home??  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Meet Lourdes, a Chihuahua born approx 11/8/24. Lourdes is your standard high-energy little dog. Happy, alert, friendly, and curious with a touch of naughty. She’s not a yappy dog, but she does like to bark at strangers and noises outside of the house. She LOVES to play! I have another foster, Grenas, that I picked up at the same time as Lourdes. They had never met before, but became instant friends. They cuddle, sleep, and wrestle together like siblings. Lourdes is definitely the dominant one. She’d do great with another dog, but I don’t think she needs one as long as her mama or papa play with her a lot. You could take her anywhere as long as she’s leashed. She won’t run away, but she will drift when you’re not looking. I’ve had her for 2 months and the only aggression she shows is barking. She let me hold her right away. Next to playing, she loves to cuddle. In her downtime, she is super sweet and gentle. When she’s feeling hyper she can really roughhouse. She’s a robust and sturdy little girl. Not delicate like a toy breed. She sleeps with me, has a fenced yard, and does great in the car or on a leash. I haven’t seen her with kids, but I’m almost positive she would be great with them. She’d love their energy.  She is still basically a puppy and was found as a stray (I’m guessing she never had a home before rescue) so we are still working on potty training and chewing. If she can’t make it outside on time, she will only go on the puppy pads, so she’s getting there. She only chews stuff when I’m home, so I don’t crate. Mostly just shoes or paper. As long as I put that kind of stuff away before bed, we’re good. She would be fine crated while you’re away from home. She will need some training to be crated without barking while her people are present. She has access to lots of stuff she never touches, so I wouldn’t call her destructive. She just needs to grow out of the puppy phase. Lourdes is smart and treat-motivated. Definitely trainable. Having a little girl like Lourdes around is a natural antidepressant. She adds fun, energy, love, and cuddles everywhere she goes. If your home could use a little more pep and light she’s your dog!       Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Hi my name is Hayes. I am a whole lot of love in a little package and I have so much love to give! I am a 3+ year old chihuahua mix. Mixed with what……well who knows?! If you need me, you’ll probably find me perched on the back of a sofa monitoring the world. I like to keep tabs on what is going on outside. If some human or dog friends come on by, I’ll be sure to let you know. I also enjoy being out in the yard and going on walks. If I walk by a human or other animal hang on tight! Sometimes I am a bit reactive. I live with other furry friends (a dog and two cats) and get along with the dog, it did take some time for her to trust me but we're good now. Cats not so much they make weird noises and I really don't want much to do with them.  I love to snuggle in bed at night and will be right at your side on the couch as well. I’m potty trained, I whine when I need to go outside. I enjoy car rides. I would probably do best with older kids just because I can be nervous when people come around. The quickness of young tikes might be a bit much for me. Every now and then I can get a bit grumpy if someone tries to snatch my treats but, honestly, wouldn’t you be the same if someone tried to steal your cookie?! I'd really do best in an only dog home.              Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Date of birth: 1/14/25 Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes Peekaboo was named as such because this tiny singleton was constantly being lost between his actual mom and his mother’s housemate who wanted a puppy when all of hers left the nest. When they were given to rescue, it became a game of hide-n-seek as to which momma he would be found with! Eventually he was paired with the “foster” momma and brought to MN! He’s been growing in our frozen tundra for the past 5 weeks and he’s finally ready for a home of his own! He’s a tiny white frosty pup with a splatter of black dots and a spunky Great White North personality. He loves to snuggle under covers and also not afraid to dive into the new snow fallen overnight. He’s just a baby so he’s learning where he’s supposed to potty. He loves to sleep with you but can sleep in a kennel too. Hard to know for sure but we expect him to be about 7-8 lbs full grown. He loves other dogs even giant ones. He really loves playful cats. He hasn’t had the pleasure of meeting small kiddos but he would like to one day. Don’t look past this tiny boy with a giant personality! Adoption fee: $695
