Story
Meet Zoe, a Chihuahua born approx 3/7/2020. Zoe is a sweet girl who has had a lot of transitions in her life. She can be a little slow to warm up, but once she does, she is very cuddly. She has seemed to attach strongly to the mom of the house and does get anxious when she leaves, but eventually settles down. She’s been alone up to 6 hours, has been free floating around the house, and has not had any accidents or destroyed anything during that time. Zoe is house-trained, and scratches at the door when she needs to be let out. She is not kennel trained. She has been great with our 3.5 year old daughter. Initially she was respectful and a little afraid of our cat, but she has had a few instances of lashing out toward the cat, She has been great with our small dog, and has met other big dogs on leash and has reacted positively. She loves walks, and while she pulls sometimes, she is easily redirected. Zoe is a medium energy level. She loves running off-leash on our acreage, but can also curl up on the couch and be content. In the car Zoe wants to ride on your lap, but also does fine in the kennel during rides. Zoe is treat motivated, playful, and sweet and will make a great family dog for a very lucky family.    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi, I’m Maggie. Im a 2 year old chihuahua mix! I came to mn from Mexico, where i was found living in a hole inside a rock mountain. When I got to mn my foster mom realized I was limping quite a bit. It then was determined by our vets that I needed a double back knee surgery as I had luxating patella in both my back knees. Don’t worry, my foster momma did all the hard work and I feel so much better now and am like a brand new dog!  Now for the fun part! I am such a joy to have around. At first I am not trusting of people but once I learn you wanna be my friend we can be best friends. I am goofy and will play with other dogs big or small but it may take me a few days to warm up to them. When I am in cuddle mode, I don’t like to share my space with other animals and may snap at them if they disturb my sleep. I love cuddles, I am the most cuddly girl ever especially with this thing called winter. I would rather curl up and cuddle with you under a blanket all day long. I am kennel trained and do really enjoy hanging in my kennel. I am for the most part potty trained, occasionally I have accidents here and there but 98% of the time I go outside. I sleep in bed curled up next to my foster momma all night long. As for cats they are fine, if they are more active cats I may try to play with them or chase them but I leave the more laid back cats alone. I will bark at new people coming into the house but will calm down and as long as they leave me alone they can stay. If they are too intrusive or in my face too much at our initial meeting I may growl. I never snap or bite though. I just need some extra time to learn new people are okay!  Anyways do you think you could be my forever home??  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Hi my name is Hayes. I am a whole lot of love in a little package! I am a 3 year old chihuahua mix. Mixed with what……well who knows?! If you need me, you’ll probably find me perched on the back of a sofa monitoring the world. I like to keep tabs on what is going on outside. If some human or dog friends come on by, I’ll be sure to let you know. I also enjoy being out in the yard and going on walks. I have squirmed out of my harness once or twice so just make sure you’ve got me strapped in tight! I live with other furry friends (a dog and two cats) and get along with them just fine. I love to snuggle in bed at night and will be right at your side on the couch as well. I’m doing great with potty training. I enjoy car rides and being around people. I would probably do best with older kids just because I can be nervous when people come around. The quickness of young tikes might be a bit much for me. Every now and then I can get a bit grumpy if someone tries to snatch my treat-os but, honestly, wouldn’t you be the same if someone tried to steal your cookie?! Let’s meet up and become friends! I have so much love to give!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxMeet Clark! Update -The only thing Clark enjoys more than playing in the leaves.... is snow!!!  The cold has not slowed him down one bit!  Clark still loves going for walks and romping in the backyard even with all this white fluffy stuff.  He's even been seen making some 'dog angels' out in the snow. This spunky, sassy little Pomeranian–Chihuahua mix is equal parts cutie pie and bossy pants. Clark knows what he wants and isn’t shy about letting you know with his voice and body language. He takes time to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, he can be a sweet cuddle buddy. Clark is housetrained and enjoys strutting proudly on leash.  He is an active little guy and will need daily walks.  Clark is GREAT in the car and loves going for rides whether it is for short errands or long trips!  He loves playing with squeaky toys too!Clark currently is being fostered in a home with several dogs and does just fine after introductions.  He can be a bit reactive (barky and bossy) when meeting new dogs but once introduced and comfortable he is just fine and will even race and chase with them in the yard if they want to play. Because of his strong personality, Clark is looking for an adult-only home with people who can set boundaries with him.    If you’re searching for a spirited sidekick with plenty of character, Clark just might be your match!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

Age: 8 months Weight: 17 lbs Dog friendly: yes, with the right introductions Cat friendly: yes Kid friendly: yes, older and considerate children Potty trained: yes, on a schedule Crate trained: yes Hello, hello! Hi there (: My name is Moonie and I just recently arrived at my foster parent’s house. I’m a handsome black/white Pom-Husky or Pom-Collie mix… who knows! Either way I’m a 17lb bundle of joy and ready to go to my forever home! I love to play chase with my 17 lb foster sister… I’m a little leary of her big 85 lb brother. My foster mom/dad don’t know if that’s because he is so much bigger than me or because he is another boy dog. I like to play and come up for pets from my foster mom and I love to chew on bones/hooves/toys. I’m a little more cautious of my dad who I recently met and will go to my crate when I get nervous. My crate is my safe space and I do great sleeping in there overnight and hanging out during the day. When I first got here I was using the pee pads more frequently but I haven’t had to use them in several days. I’m a sweetheart with a cute smile and I’m ready to sweep you off your feet! I would love another playful dog in my forever home and a fenced in yard! Adoption fee: $525
