This adorable lady is Tallulah! She came to the shelter as a stray and is now looking for her furever home. We suspect that she may have been a breeder dog, and has not enjoyed the pampered life she deserves. Tallulah is terrified in the kennel and flinches at touch, showing us that her past has not been kind. We want the best for her, and she needs an adopter who has experience with undersocialized/shutdown dogs. She is an older pup so it will take patience and dedication for her to learn how to be a furry family member. We don`t believe she has ever had any formal training, but she is food-motivated which should help. Tallulah has shown a little curiosity with other dogs and may benefit from having a canine companion to show her the ropes. As of right now, Tallulah does not know how to walk on a leash and honestly, the idea terrifies her so we think a fenced yard might be best! We don`t know how she feels about cats but she may do well with proper introduction. Due to her fearful nature, any children in the home should be 13 and older. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Meet Coco, a total sweetheart who absolutely LOVES his people! Coco is an affectionate guy who isn’t shy about letting you know when he thinks it’s time for some attention—and who could resist him? Coco isn’t really into wrestling or playing with other dogs, but he sure does enjoy running around with his fur friends and just being part of the group. Because he enjoys having that companionship, Coco requires another dog in his forever home. He does well in a crate and also requires a secure fenced yard where he can safely run, explore, and enjoy being outside. Coco is not recommended for a home with small children. He would do best in a home where he can enjoy his people, have a canine companion, and have plenty of space to just be Coco. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who will make sure you always know when he’s ready for some love, Coco might be your guy! He was a street dog along a major 4 lane highway for at least a month before being captured, but no one ever claimed him. George is sweet, playful, and loves his people as much as he loves food. This stubby legged brindle boy is eager to learn and super food motivated. He did pick up some tick friends during his travels leaving him with Lyme and Anaplasma, but we treated him doxycycline for 21 days and he is one heathy dude now. He is create trained, leash trained, loves car rides, but needs a tiny bit more perfecting on the house training so a belly band will save you from any headaches for a future family. George is truly perfect package as your one and only! DNA results revealed George is a Pomeranian, Mini Pinscher, Shih Tzu, Mini Poodle, and a little bit of Pekingese mix. Meet Kai, a gorgeous 2 year old, 8 pound Pomeranian looking for a particular forever home. This little guy was crated 23 hours a day the first 2 years of his life before coming to rescue, and it left some lasting effects that a new owner must understand. He has some neurological issues like high stepping, excessive spinning, and dramatic vocal responses to unwanted handling. He also has some behaviors that need patience and delicate approach when it comes to grooming and vetting that includes using some calming medication before hand. Kai does not allow a harness or collar to be applied so a fenced yard is required. He thrives with other small dogs his age to play with and show him the ropes. Kai will attach to his adult people once he trust you and that involves giving him some space to figure things out, providing him a crate for security, and understanding he will come around in his own time. Kai is a comical, affectionate boy once he settles in, does well in a dog carrier for car rides, is house trained to use pee pads or potty outside, and is doing well learning how to be a dog now. Kai is on anxiety medication that have literally saved his life, allowed him to break barriers, and be a dog again. These medications should be continued for life for his physical and mental health. Kai would not be a good match to live full time with children, but visits and short exposure would be okay with supervision. This little guy will need time to settle into a new home, space, and patience from a new family, but once he does, he will bring joy to a new home. This sweet boy was used strictly for breeding and lived in a rabbit hutch his whole life so the world scares him. He is learning that humans are for love and scratches, while loving his freedom of playing with other dogs and toys in the yard. He will need a committed home that is patient while he adjusts. Poncho is house trained with regular potty breaks, but he is still learning and accidents happen. Miwak came to us from the NYACC a bag of bones, bald, and smelling of death. He was in such terrible condition we actually thought he was a Chinese Crested with severe skin allergies, but a DNA quickly showed that he is a Pomeranian with 9% Poodle in there. Turns out Miwak was suffering from EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), allergies, and a skin infection. We got him fixed up, on prescription food with added enzymes, and poof a fluffy coat appeared! He will need to stay on a prescription diet with added enzymes for life as well as a few medications for allergies, but besides that he is a healthy estimated 7 year old, 14 pound boy ready for a home of his own. Miwak has been sick for a long time so now that he is feeling better, he acts like a playful puppy again. He loves toys, walks, and other furry playmates to romp with. He does like to lift his leg and claim everything as his, but a bellyband is a simple tool to keep that pee contained while he continues working on housetraining. Miwak is shy with new people but after a few minutes he will be your best friend! This guy is truly a unique looking boy with so much life and love to share.... he just needs a family to do it with. Tonka is a 4 year old Pomsky, who was acquired as a puppy through a private breeder. We have had him for 4 years, and he has been a blessing for our family. He is great with other dogs and cats, and does well with children. He is in need of a new home due to unforeseen circumstances, no fault of his. He is energetic and loving, and enjoys getting belly rubs and being chased. He loves to play and just wants to love and be loved. My 14 year old was his chosen person and he absolutely adores him, will sleep at the foot of the bed, and waits for him to come home from school everyday.
