Charlie is 5-year-old, 17-pound Pomeranian mix has a story to tell. Originally found as a stray in Philadelphia, he was adopted from another shelter in October but when his owner failed to reclaim him, we were thrilled to scoop him up and give him a second chance at finding the perfect home. He’s a funny little guy who loves hanging out with our volunteers and has been nothing but sweet and playful. We’ve had no issues handling him - he’s easygoing and enjoys attention without being demanding. His cheerful personality and quirky charm make him a joy to be around. Meet Mi’jo — a tiny senior gentleman with a heart full of love. Mi’jo is a 10-year-old, 12-pound sweetheart who embodies everything wonderful about senior dogs: calm, gentle, affectionate, and endlessly grateful for every moment with his people. He’s housetrained, crate trained, and has the sweetest, softest presence in the home. Mi’jo enjoys the simple joys of life—slow strolls, sniffing around the yard, cozy naps, and treats (he LOVES treats!). Despite having typical senior-dog challenges like dim vision, some arthritis, and spondylosis, he’s still active, comfortable, and happily engaged in his daily routines. He currently lives with several other dogs and gets along beautifully with everyone, but due to his small size and gentle nature, Mi’jo would do best in a quiet home without rambunctious dogs or small children. He also isn’t suited for homes with lots of stairs unless they can be securely blocked off. Mi’jo is a quiet little man, though he does enjoy gently reminding the Amazon driver that he’s still on duty as a loyal protector. Most of the time, though, you’ll find him cuddled up on the couch, snoozing peacefully. This sweet boy has been fully vetted, including labwork, a dental cleaning, and a thorough exam. He had very poor teeth and required 16 extractions, so he now eats soft food (or Fresh Pet) and enjoys soft treats—Pill Pockets are his favorite! He takes a daily NSAID to keep him comfortable and feeling good. Mi’jo is looking for a calm, loving home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by warmth, safety, and gentle companionship. I get along with my furry foster friends but will appropriately correct other dogs if they make me uncomfortable. I could do well as an only dog getting everyone’s full attention or with other small furry friends. I am completely housetrained and will even give you a little sign if you forget. I definitely know when it's feeding time but generally sleep late in the morning, so breakfast time is negotiable. I am leash trained and like to lead the pack. Sometimes, I pull or get a little excited on the leash, but I do love a fenced yard. I like my rides in the car and adventures. I'm okay with grooming until you get to my nails. I might need a muzzle there. I'm also okay with at the vet with a little help (sedative medication). I attach quickly to my humans and look forward to doing the same with my furever family. I just need to feel secure and have boundaries set with a crate in order to thrive. I am alternately a cuddler and independent type, so the best of both worlds. Are you my future family? Aside from being a professional napper, he loves a good trot through his foster mom's fenced backyard. Eddie is very quiet and only barks if he is unhappy with a visitor or situation, such as another dog getting into his personal space. For this reason Eddie would thrive in a home as an only dog. He takes some time to warm up, but given space, he will seek out your attention and lean into you for pets and belly rubs. Eddie is food driven and loves his treats after coming inside from going potty. While Eddie walks well on a leash and doesn't pull, a fenced yard is best since he doesn't love all other dogs. Eddie is vision impaired, but can see well enough to navigate furniture and steps. He also has a keen ear for plastic food wrappers. If you have a quiet, relaxed vibe in your home, Eddie would be a perfect companion for you. Eddie's coat is more like a lab and only requires regular brushing, as opposed to regular grooming like poms. This sweet boy was used strictly for breeding and lived in a rabbit hutch his whole life so the world scares him. He is learning that humans are for love and scratches, while loving his freedom of playing with other dogs and toys in the yard. He will need a committed home that is patient while he adjusts. Poncho is house trained with regular potty breaks, but he is still learning and accidents happen. He is on an anxiety medication that we hope won't be needed forever, but it has helped him overcome so many fears that it does need continued until he is fully adjusted to a new home. He’s truly a gentle little guy who loves being close to his people and would do best in a home where he isn’t left alone for long periods, he just wants to be near you. MJ is house trained, leash trained, rides well in a car, is good with all small furry friends, good with vet visits, and good with grooming. Milo loves food and takes mealtime seriously, he knows the schedule and will absolutely remind you when it’s time. Treats are his love language, and he’s never shy about letting you know he’s ready for one. Over the years, Milo was moved between homes due to unforeseen circumstances, none of which were his fault. Despite that, he was well cared for, and it really shows in his loving, trusting personality. He doesn’t quite know how to play with toys, but he’s very tolerant and will even let his foster siblings jump around him from time to time. Milo enjoys long walks and getting outside. It doesn’t seem like he’s ever had a fenced-in yard, and while he will eventually go to the bathroom on his own, he’s much more comfortable and confident going out on a leash. He does have some arthritis in his legs, but it doesn’t slow him down, he’s still happy to walk and explore at his own pace.
