Story
Bear spent his entire life with his mom in California. Then she had to go into assisted living, and Bear went to stay with family. Bear is blind, and the dogs where Bear went were not fond of him, so he spent much of his time hiding under furniture. When the family moved to Texas, the family also acquired a pool Bear found twice by accident by falling in. Luckily for Bear, someone was supervising him both times. They contacted me to see if he might come here. I know how well blind dogs adapt, so I had no issues with his coming to our sanctuary. Bear is a character! He is feisty and sassy. He is demanding and playful. He gets along with my ducks but if the ducks pick on him, he will tell them off quite loudly!! He learned how to go up and down the ramp to my bed with ease. When I switched the ramp to the other side of the bed, he adapted faster than my other blind dog. no issues at all. Bear is beautiful, lively, healthy, intelligent, house and crate trained. the complete package. he loves kids. He LOVES kids. have him over for a week home trial and see for yourself!

Story
Deacon LOVES to play fetch. He is obsessed with balls and is an expert cuddler. He does well with other dogs but does require some time to warm up to them. He can be a little anxious so he needs an owner that is patient and understanding of his big feelings. He would do well in a home with older children! He is potty trained and has had general training (sit, stay, come, down, etc). He catches on very quickly and is motivated by treats or a few minutes of his favorite game- fetch!

** COURTESY POST ** ** This animal is NOT at the Rowlett Animal Shelter, so please do not inquire with them ** ** For information contact Keainya Napper; 347-845-2365 (call or text); heather.baby2@gmail.com  ** Hello my name is HoneyBooBoo, I am a toy size pure bred Pomeranian, born on 2-14-2018 so I am 6 years old and currently reside in Garland Texas. I love to play hide and seek, and I love music and will bark along to the music, but if you tell me “shush, I’ll quit barking/singing along! I love being dressed up in cute outfits, being held in your arms while you are dancing, and even standing on my two back feet while you hold my front paws up and dance with me. I’m outside potty trained; I love going for walks and watching movies and cartoons with you. I have not been spayed. I have a honey colored or dirty blonde coat, mixed with a little white. I’m microchipped and am an adorable and amazing pet and will be a best friend to you. My shots are up to date and I will be due for a routine exam in 2024 to continue staying healthy. Let me explain why my current owner is asking to rehome me to a lovely person or family. My owner traveled a lot and unknowingly left me with dog sitters that apparently didn’t follow my owner’s instructions on how to properly feed me with kibble and occasional wet food mixed in my kibble. They only fed me wet food no kibble, which ultimately ended up decaying my teeth and causing bad breath. As a result, I’m in dire need of proper dental care treatment and possible teeth extractions. The dental problems are my only health issues. My owner has become depressed because of my neglected teeth and bad breath and the fact that she can’t afford my needed care and feels I would be better off with an owner or family who can afford to get me the help I need. I would greatly appreciate it more than words can express if someone is able to get me the care I need and let me become your best friend. I’ll come with all my paperwork, clothes, toys, my kennel cage, my travel carrier, and all other accessories (blankets, a round chair, harness, bed mattress, pillow, towel, washcloth). My owner isn’t asking for a rehoming fee, just someone trustworthy, responsible, reliable, and respectful who will truly love me and take care of me and my dental issues. I’m excited to meet my new owner to have fun times, love each other and live happily ever after.April 15, 2024, 3:34 pm

Story
Lopez is a sweet boy who recently lost his owners due to their health issues, and ended up in the shelter after being found wandering as a stray. Poor boy, his world fell apart!  He's doing great in his current foster home, loving the other dogs. He is wary of new people who come into the home but warms up fairly well. He just completed his obedience training, so we are happy to report that he is doing better with new people!Lopez is a fun and affectionate boy hoping his next "forever home" will last forever! His ideal home would be a calm place, perhaps with a retired couple or a person without kids. He is good with other dogs, but prefers to be the only dog or to have a play buddy who is bigger than him. Lopez is house trained and despite being a senior dog, he is full of energy and doesn't have any health Issues.  Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria.
