Story
Matzah is a 10-month-old Pomeranian mix who is sweet, social, and always ready to be part of whatever you’re doing. He’s the type of dog who wants to be close to his people, soak up affection, and make sure you never feel lonely again. This happy little guy loves car rides and enjoys going for walks, making him a great companion for errands, adventures, and weekend outings. He has a fun, outgoing personality and brings a lot of life to the room wherever he goes. Matzah does well with other dogs, but he can come on a little strong when first meeting new doggy friends. He gets very excited and may bark when he sees potential new playmates, so he will do best with a family who understands puppy energy and can help him continue learning calm greetings and good social manners. He is crate trained, doing great with potty training, and is also good with gentle children, making him a wonderful option for a family home. Matzah is still young and learning, but he has an amazing foundation and is going to be an absolutely incredible companion for someone ready to give him structure, love, and continued guidance. If you want a cheerful little shadow with a big heart and a fluffy personality to match, Matzah is ready to meet you! Story
~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam ***** Temperament: Meet Arctic Blue — a breathtaking one-year-old Pomsky with a snowy white coat and the most striking ice-blue eyes you’ve ever seen. At about 15 pounds, he’s the perfect medium-small size for someone wanting a “big dog look” in a little package. Arctic Blue can be fearful at first meeting new people. He needs a day or two to observe, process, and decide you’re safe — but once he does, he truly warms up and bonds beautifully. Patience is key with this boy, and he will reward you with loyalty and sweetness. He does have a bite history related to a traumatic grooming experience in his past. However, with calm handling and trust-building, he allowed me to groom him without issue. This tells us so much about his ability to overcome fear when he feels safe and respected. The good stuff (and there’s a lot of it!): Knows SIT and DOWN Walks beautifully on a leash Loves playing with other young dogs Respectful and appropriate with senior dogs Appears mostly house-trained Uses the doggie door like a pro Generally quiet, but will “use his voice” if he wants something to change He will bark initially if crated and wants out, but settles after a bit and will sleep quietly through the night. Arctic Blue would thrive in a home that understands he needs a gentle introduction to new situations. A confident canine companion could be a big plus for him. Because of his history, we will be looking for an adopter who is patient, experienced, and willing to continue building his confidence in a positive, fear-free way. Due to his bite history, he will not be adopted to families with children. If you’re looking for a stunning, intelligent, playful companion — and you have the heart to give a sensitive dog the understanding he deserves — Arctic Blue may just be your perfect match. -- Where did he come from: Sadly he was surrendered to a rural shelter in Arkansas after biting his owners during a traumatic grooming incident. Adoption: ***** $1,000.00 ***** Weight: 14 lbs. Story
~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: ***** He has some hip/back pain at intake and on pain meds for awhile but now he just takes supplements for joints and he's doing well. ***** Temperament:  Flannel was a little spicy when he came into the rescue, so he's called Chili in his foster home as often as he is Flannie.  It could just be the chihuahua in him or his past.  He was found abandoned in a crate with two other dogs on a hot day in a rough part of town in San Francisco.  No food or water in a wire crate for days, hot and scared.  Luckily a homeless person hiked to a gas station to use their phone to call the local shelter who took them in.  He was a mess with matted hair and overgrown nails.  He was brave and defended his little buddy but once he was alone with the shelter workers he was a sweetie looking for cuddles. They called Recycled Poms and we made arrangements to pick him up.  He's done great here, and is a sweetheart.  He loves his foster dad and is usually on his lap, on his blanket on the couch next to him, or curled up on dad's blanket on the floor.  I don't think he left the couch for weeks, kind of got possessive for a bit, but he's one of the pack now.  Dad and couch still his favorite though.  He gets along with all the other littles in the house, and the cat, and the big dog but he tends to try to boss her around, and a little yappy at her.  Loves to chase her when she goes out to run.  As sweet as he can be he does not like to be surprised so he has bitten (sharp teeth!) when he's unaware of an incoming nudge or pick up.  Those have gotten farther apart though.  So, he will not be adopted to a home where there will be young children who can be unpredictable.  He needs an adopter that can read his body language because he will tell you if he's not liking something.  He likes to be carried so he'd be a good traveling companion, but car travel is best in a carrier or belted in the back seat because he likes to get in your lap.  He's very food motivated, loves treats and soft foods.  He's got a funny little bark and a bad habit of being very vocal about anyone leaving the house.  He needs patience with potty training, he wears a belly band now and will wee on just about anything.  But his foster home has many dogs now and over the years so hopefully consistency and just his own smells will be all it takes to make him a good boy.  He's such a little cutie awaiting his forever home!   -- Where did he come from: Stray in San Francisco California  Adoption: ***** $500.00 ***** Weight: 7 lbs. At 7 years old and approximately 7 pounds, Summer may feel lighter than her weight suggests, as she's a pocket-sized bundle of joy. Rescued from a puppymill, she's come a long way and is blossoming beautifully. Summer has quickly learned how to use the doggie door and is eager to let you know when she needs to go out for her business. She's also an enthusiastic little player, asking to join in with other dogs! We are currently working on leash training, helping her gain confidence on walks. This lovable girl adores following you from room to room, always eager for affection. There's nothing she loves more than a cozy massage and some good belly rubs. While she can be a bit stand-offish at times, she has learned to trust and will freeze in place when you approach to pick her up. Summer would thrive best in a home with other confident dogs, as she does not do well as an only dog. If you're looking for a loyal companion full of love and snuggles, apply today to adopt this precious girl! She can’t wait to shower you with affection for a lifetime.   --  Where did she come from: She was surrendered to our rescue by a puppymill.  Adoption: ***** $800.00 ***** Weight: 7.3 lbs. We opted to amputate the leg. She is doing well on only 3 legs.  ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam ***** Temperament: Meet Foxie, the sweetest little senior girl you could ever wish for! At around 10 years old and weighing just 8.5 lbs, Foxie may have faced some challenges, including the amputation of her front right leg due to a badly broken foot. But don't let that fool you—this resilient pup is thriving with her three legs and is ready to embrace all the love life has to offer! Foxie is a gentle soul who enjoys her beauty sleep, making her the perfect companion for a cozy evening at home. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is always friendly with people, bringing warmth and joy to everyone she meets. If you’re looking for a loving companion who has a heart full of love to give, Foxie is your girl! Don’t miss the chance to bring this precious angel into your home. Foxey is a super sweet little girl who wants nothing more than to be around her people, whether that’s on the couch in your lap or under your office chair, as long as she gets to be close to you. She loves going on walks and is perfect with her house manners- she will dance and spin to tell you she needs to go outside. Since she’s so good about house training she doesn’t need to be crated, and we’ve found that she doesn’t prefer it, but if she’s crated and you show her a leash she is up and ready to go! Foxey is great with other dogs and cats too, although people are her favorite companions of all. She would be happy with another playful dog friend, as long as they share their treats with her.  She gets very excited to meet new people on walks and loves giving kisses to her friends. Foxey has gotten really good at taking her routine liquid medications with a little soft cat tube treat mixed in. She would probably do best in a home with older children who know how to be gentle with a distinguished senior pom. --  Where did she come from: Surrendered to the Mansfield animal shelter.   Adoption: ***** $300.00 ***** Weight: 13.0 lbs.
