Story
Lucky was homed from the Colony Pet Services at the Colony, Texas when he was approximately two years old. He is of a Mixed Pomeranian breed, and very energetic. He was immediately attached to me, and very loyal, and gives me the love and fun times we shared together. He is currently approximately eight years of age and still likes to play and walk around the neighborhood, he likes all kinds of toys, and responds well to treats and commands. He does not like my son's cat in particular and is somewhat territorial at times. But over time, I have not had the proper time to care for him, due to my current health situation and family commitments and financial issues.I have not had the chance to get Lucky out in the world, except for when I send him to a pet hotel when we go out of town for long periods, he is very happy interacting with other dogs. He does not have very much exposure to other pets and/or children, though. Lucky needs someone who can take the time and be a companion to him.

Story
Moonlight is a 4-year-old, 10-pound Pomeranian. She looks purebred to us, though we aren’t sure. She is as sweet a dog as you could hope for. She loves Foster Dogmom and gets along well with the 7 other dogs in the house, ranging from 4 to 40 pounds. Moonlight is missing one of her back legs. She was rescued from the streets of the Rio Grande valley, so we don’t know how she lost the leg, but it was at least surgically removed. The missing leg does not slow her down in the slightest. Foster Dogmom lives in a 2-story house, and Moonlight follows her up and down the stairs 15 times a day with no assistance. The only thing she can’t do is jump up on the furniture to sit in your lap, but at 10 pounds, she is easily lifted. Moonlight enjoys a good wrassle with the other dogs; her favorite position is on her back so that they come to her. She doesn’t play with toys much, but she loves to chew on Bene Bones. She also loves to go outside, trot around a bit, and then sun herself. Even with the missing back leg, Moonlight is able to do a very energetic Doggy Dance of Joy when Foster Dogmom comes home. She loves to sit on either the floor or your lap and look deeply into your eyes while you scritch her head, scratch her butt and tell her what a pretty girl she is. Moonlight has her manners down. She is housetrained, though you should expect to have to reinforce this in a new home. She’s not barky, unless of course the Amazon delivery driver comes to the house to drop off a package—and who wants a dog that doesn’t protect them from the Amazon delivery driver? During the day she hangs out in a dog bed when she’s not following Foster Dogmom up and down the stairs. At night, she likes to sleep on a cold, hard floor—probably because she’s a big fluffball and fur is hot! Moonlight would do equally well in a house or an apartment, with a senior or single, a couple, or a family. As you may have noticed from the photos, she is, well, kind of fat. She would benefit from a few short walks each day or a trip to the dog park. She is low-maintenance and a very easy dog to love. Moonlight is spayed, has all her shots, and is microchipped. She is heartworm-negative. Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that seem to be a good fit for the dog.

Story
~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: ***** He has some hip/back pain at intake and on pain meds for awhile but now he just takes supplements for joints and he's doing well. ***** Temperament:  Flannel was a little spicy when he came into the rescue, so he's called Chili in his foster home as often as he is Flannie.  It could just be the chihuahua in him or his past.  He was found abandoned in a crate with two other dogs on a hot day in a rough part of town in San Francisco.  No food or water in a wire crate for days, hot and scared.  Luckily a homeless person hiked to a gas station to use their phone to call the local shelter who took them in.  He was a mess with matted hair and overgrown nails.  He was brave and defended his little buddy but once he was alone with the shelter workers he was a sweetie looking for cuddles. They called Recycled Poms and we made arrangements to pick him up.  He's done great here, and is a sweetheart.  He loves his foster dad and is usually on his lap, on his blanket on the couch next to him, or curled up on dad's blanket on the floor.  I don't think he left the couch for weeks, kind of got possessive for a bit, but he's one of the pack now.  Dad and couch still his favorite though.  He gets along with all the other littles in the house, and the cat, and the big dog but he tends to try to boss her around, and a little yappy at her.  Loves to chase her when she goes out to run.  As sweet as he can be he does not like to be surprised so he has bitten (sharp teeth!) when he's unaware of an incoming nudge or pick up.  Those have gotten farther apart though.  So, he will not be adopted to a home where there will be young children who can be unpredictable.  He needs an adopter that can read his body language because he will tell you if he's not liking something.  He likes to be carried so he'd be a good traveling companion, but car travel is best in a carrier or belted in the back seat because he likes to get in your lap.  He's very food motivated, loves treats and soft foods.  He's got a funny little bark and a bad habit of being very vocal about anyone leaving the house.  He needs patience with potty training, he wears a belly band now and will wee on just about anything.  But his foster home has many dogs now and over the years so hopefully consistency and just his own smells will be all it takes to make him a good boy.  He's such a little cutie awaiting his forever home!   -- Where did he come from: Stray in San Francisco California  Adoption: ***** $500.00 ***** Weight: 7 lbs. Approximate age: 7 years ADOPTION APPLICATION: http://www.recycledpoms.org/application -- Email info@recycledpomeranians.com to request a printable application. --   ------Please remember our group is made of only volunteers all of whom have full time jobs, foster fur-kids, and families of their own, so please be patient.-------- March 7, 2026, 9:52 am

At about 15 pounds, he’s the perfect medium-small size for someone wanting a “big dog look” in a little package. Arctic Blue can be fearful at first meeting new people. He needs a day or two to observe, process, and decide you’re safe — but once he does, he truly warms up and bonds beautifully. Patience is key with this boy, and he will reward you with loyalty and sweetness. He does have a bite history related to a traumatic grooming experience in his past. However, with calm handling and trust-building, he allowed me to groom him without issue. This tells us so much about his ability to overcome fear when he feels safe and respected. The good stuff (and there’s a lot of it!): Knows SIT and DOWN Walks beautifully on a leash Loves playing with other young dogs Respectful and appropriate with senior dogs Appears mostly house-trained Uses the doggie door like a pro Generally quiet, but will “use his voice” if he wants something to change He will bark initially if crated and wants out, but settles after a bit and will sleep quietly through the night. Arctic Blue would thrive in a home that understands he needs a gentle introduction to new situations. A confident canine companion could be a big plus for him. Because of his history, we will be looking for an adopter who is patient, experienced, and willing to continue building his confidence in a positive, fear-free way. Due to his bite history, he will not be adopted to families with children. If you’re looking for a stunning, intelligent, playful companion — and you have the heart to give a sensitive dog the understanding he deserves — Arctic Blue may just be your perfect match. -- Where did he come from: Sadly he was surrendered to a rural shelter in Arkansas after biting his owners during a traumatic grooming incident.
