Story
Lopez is a sweet boy who recently lost his owners due to their health issues, and ended up in the shelter after being found wandering as a stray. Poor boy, his world fell apart!  He's doing great in his current foster home, loving the other dogs. He is wary of new people who come into the home but warms up fairly well. He just completed his obedience training, so we are happy to report that he is doing better with new people!Lopez is a fun and affectionate boy hoping his next "forever home" will last forever! His ideal home would be a calm place, perhaps with a retired couple or a person without kids. He is good with other dogs, but prefers to be the only dog or to have a play buddy who is bigger than him. Lopez is house trained and despite being a senior dog, he is full of energy and doesn't have any health Issues.  Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. Story
~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: Experiencing hair loss on his feet and managing low thyroid issues with daily medication. ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam ***** Temperament:  Meet Nickels, the absolute sweetest and best-natured little boy who is a true social butterfly! This charming 12-year-old, 7lb pup gets along with absolutely everyone, including his foster family's cats whom he adores hanging out with during treat times (Nickels never misses a treat opportunity!). While it seems that Nickels may be a little deaf, he miraculously hears treat bags rustling from a mile away. Nickels loves spending time with his humans but also cherishes his "cave time," where he enjoys taking naps under furniture with his tiny legs sticking out. This low-key and quiet little guy relishes cuddling, short walks, and meal times. He particularly enjoys being brushed and fully relaxes into the experience. When Nickels needs to go outside to potty, he will let you know, promptly does his business, and then politely asks to come back inside. While he tolerates being crated, he has shown in his foster home that he is trustworthy and doesn't really need to be crated. Nickels exhibits excellent manners and would likely adapt well to a home with a dog door. As a tiny senior boy, he would thrive in a household with older, gentle children who understand how to be caring and gentle with him. Could you be the loving family that Nickels has been waiting for?  -- Where did he come from: Surrendered to the New Braunfels animal shelter   Adoption: ***** $400.00 ***** Weight: 7.20 lbs. Approximate age: 5/12/2012 ADOPTION APPLICATION: http://www.recycledpoms.org/application -- Email info@recycledpomeranians.com to request a printable application. --   ------Please remember our group is made of only volunteers all of whom have full time jobs, foster fur-kids, and families of their own, so please be patient.-------- October 8, 2024, 11:25 am

He is very shy at first but once he warms up, he is a total lover! However, he is not fond of strangers. He will normally attach himself to calm low voiced peopled. He can be rather dramatic when he's scared of someone. He's young but his time in the hoarding home has scarred him. Sadly, he would do best in a home with one or two people and not many visitors. He gets along with other dogs but does not like them in his face. He also does not play with the dogs. He prefers his human over his doggie pals.  -- Where did he come from: He came to us as part of a hoarding intake group.  Adoption: ***** $100.00 ***** Weight: 8.60 lbs. She is currently taking Lasix, vetmedin, and Benazepril to treat her heart condition.   ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam ***** Temperament: Daisy, a 14-year-old senior pup, is a resilient and loving companion who sleeps in a crate all night and requires frequent outdoor breaks. Despite being blind and deaf, Daisy has adapted well to her surroundings and is a seasoned traveler. She has a hearty appetite and enjoys spending time outdoors, where she can explore. Daisy is a laid-back pup who loves to nap and is great with both kids and adults. She adores being carried and rarely barks, making her an ideal furry friend for a caring family. --  Where did she come from: She was surrendered to the Mesquite Shelter when the family could no longer care for her. Sadly, her owner was deployed overseas and asked that she find a new home.   Adoption: ***** $200.00 ***** Weight: 9.2 lbs. Despite his size, he's every bit a Pom, and his fluffy fur is truly breathtaking. This brave fellow has had to go through the challenge of losing his family after 13 years, which understandably left him feeling down when he first arrived. At first, he wasn't too keen on affection or attention, but the good news is, he's come a long way since then. Shakespeare now loves offering his opinion on a variety of matters, from deciding when it's mealtime to when it's time to rise and shine. Speaking of meals, he's got a healthy appetite and has a special fondness for treats. However, it's important to note that Shakespeare can be a little food-aggressive. If you have other furry companions, you'll need to crate him or keep him in a separate room during meals and treat times. Shakespeare has also taken to walks quite well and enjoys the company of his foster pack. Although he usually sticks with the group, he enjoys relaxing by himself on the cool bathroom tiles. He's quite the smart dog and understands how to use the dog door. He likes to bask in the sun for a few minutes a couple of times a day. What sets Shakespeare apart is his independence. He's the perfect companion if you work in an office, as he doesn't require someone to be home all day. While he enjoys being near his human, he's content on his own and values having his personal space. Shakespeare is a very good boy who deserves a loving, permanent home where he can feel safe and cherished. Consider giving this unique and resilient Pomeranian the last and best home he truly deserves.
