Meet Wakanda Part snuggle bug, part neighborhood watch captain, part toy collector… Wakanda is a one-of-a-kind little guy looking for the right forever home. We think he’s a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix, around 3½ years old, and currently rocking a very portable 16-ish pounds (though his foster mom is working hard on adding a few extra snacks to that figure ). Wakanda came from the heartbreaking Wauconda hoarding case with many of his siblings, so the world is still a pretty new place to him. Everyday noises? Weird. Visitors? Suspicious. Blankets? ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. His favorite things include: Snuggling under blankets Treats (seriously… this boy will do anything for snacks) Toys and bones Walks and backyard exploring Being close to “his person” Wakanda is crate trained and potty trained with reminders, and he’s been working with his foster family to build confidence and work through his barking and protective instincts. He loves hard, but he loves selectively — and once you’re his person, he takes the job of protecting you very seriously. Think tiny bodyguard energy. Because of that, Wakanda needs: A quieter home with a securely fenced yard‍‍ Older kids or adults only A family committed to continued training and consistency‍ Someone patient who understands trust takes time Apartment/shared-wall living probably isn’t his thing — he has opinions and isn’t afraid to share them He tends to warm up faster to women and is still learning to trust men, but underneath the cautious exterior is a goofy, loyal little dog who is finally discovering that life can be safe, cozy, and full of love. Wakanda may not be the dog for everyone — but for the right person, he’s going to be an incredibly devoted companion. And honestly? Every kingdom deserves a loyal protector. Meet Tina! She is a 2 year old rat terrier/heeler mix rescued with her mom, sister and younger siblings after being dumped in a bad area of town. She is very submissive and a little shy at first but wants she warms up she loves belly rubs! She get's that from her mom! She is great with other dogs of all sizes but prefers medium and small dogs. The bigger dogs make her a little nervous. She is working on leash walking, potty training and crate training. She is currently 23 lbs with long legs. She is just a sweet girl looking for love and a place to lounge around! Tammy is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, microchipped, and wormed for internal and external parasites. LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY. Peabody is a 2-year-old Rat Terrier mix (we think). He was pulled into our rescue from an over-crowded, rural, KY shelter because he was not tolerating the environment well and was shut down. He was terrified when first arriving at his fosters home. It took time…but not much. We have video evidence that he is a Velcro mix. He likes dogs about his size, but gets passive-aggressive with bigger dogs. Meaning he runs his mouth. He would have no problem with another, playful dog or being the one-and-only. He likes to watch TV on the couch, beside you, with his eyes closed. He will be the big spoon every night and knows how to fit perfectly into the small of your back. Peabody will likely need the expected 3 days to decompress in a new environment. But once he has stopped fretting, he’ll be melting like butter in your lap. We think Peabody needs to find that doesn’t require transport, so applications must be local to TN. I need to be adopted in Crossville, Tennessee. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed.
