Story
Introducing Blayze, the ultimate cuddly couch potato with a playful side! Blayze is the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure, making him an ideal companion for any family. At home, Blayze is a master of the art of relaxation. He loves nothing more than snuggling up on the couch with his favorite humans, enjoying the comfort and warmth of being close to his family. He's the epitome of a couch potato, content to lounge around and soak up the love. Despite his laid-back demeanor, Blayze has a playful streak, especially when it comes to chasing small critters. He's easygoing on walks, happy to explore at a leisurely pace, but his excitement peaks when he spots a furry friend to chase. Blayze may seem a bit reserved at first, but once he's settled into his new home, get ready to witness his sweet and affectionate side bloom. He's just waiting for the right family to help him come out of his shell and show his true colors. If you're looking for a cuddly companion who can switch between relaxation mode and adventure mode with ease, Blayze is the perfect match for you. Bring this lovable couch potato into your home and experience the joy of having a loyal and playful friend by your side! Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email bloomingdale@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 90, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! We aren't sure if they are related (maybe father daughter? Grandfather?) but Willie is very attached to Nellie. Both Willie and Nellie are great dogs who, despite being abandoned, love life and being around people. They will entertain you for hours! Nellie is just about a year old ready to find a home that will love her Willie forever where they'll never be abandoned again. Can it be with you? If interested in a pet from us please fill out the adoption application that is located on our website.  We process applications in the order in which they are received.  We will likely not respond to interest emails regarding puppies and/or kittens, we get so many "interest" emails that we simply do not have the time to respond to each one.  We always recommend crate training, positive reinforcement training, exercise, playtime, and a regular schedule for potty breaks when bringing a new dog/puppy into your home. Adjustment takes time for both you and your new family member, so remember to be patient and enjoy this new and exciting time!Included in the adoption fee are age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm testing, deworming, spay or neuter surgery, and microchip. ##1914509##

Story
Caldwell is living in a foster home. Please submit an application from our website and/or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match! Our sweet senior Caldwell is from a partner shelter in Texas and we couldn't help but fall in love the moment we saw him! Caldwell came in pretty under the weather, but has been in relaxing and recovering in a foster home and is now ready to get adopted! Caldwell adores people and loves to be with them. He has also done well meeting other small dogs. Here is what his foster mom has to say about him: "Caldwell cracks me up. He loves to roll around in the grass and will travel the length of the yard on his back. He is very treat motivated and really wants to please his human. He does like to be with people but will settle in on a comfy chair and wait for you to come back. He isn't interested in chewing - toys or your possessions. Caldwell still thinks he is a young pup and is quite agile especially when he gets the zoomies which is so much fun to watch, or you can join in and chase him to his delight. And what a gentleman he is, if he wants to join you on the sofa he will sit at your feet and wait for an invitation." Please reach out if you think you can give our sweet senior a home to spend his golden years in! Caldwell's adoption fee is $150. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.

Story
Freckles came to us from a rural downstate shelter. We believe she has rat terrier and chihuahua in her DNA. Even though Freckles' estimated age is 8-years old, she has an adorable puppy face. That face lights up when she is on squirrel watch. Her foster dad is careful to make sure the squirrels stay safe when Freckles is outside. We don't know anything about Freckles' past. We do know she is safe in our care until she finds the right home._________________________________________________________________________Adoption Donation for Freckles is $ 400.00WANT TO MEET FrecklesThe first step would be for you to go to our website at www.aear.org and then to the “Adopting a Pet” page to read about our Adoption Process which will answer many of your questions and then to fill out an Adoption Application. Also, please visit our very active Facebook Page for updates on Freckles and our other adoptable pets with AEAR - www.facebook.com/aear.orgAll our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes.
