Story
Wakanda came from a local hoarding situation. Due to this they do require a fenced yard as well as another dog in the home.  Wakanda is one of the pups rescued from the Wauconda hoarding case and is just beginning to discover how good life can be. Wakanda tends to warm up more quickly to women and is still learning to trust men. He’s working with a trainer to help build confidence and ease his protective streak. While he’s still figuring things out, his sweet side is shining through more each day. He loves spending time outside, so a securely fenced yard is a must for this curious explorer. He’d do best in a quiet home with older kids who understand that trust takes time. With patience, love, and continued training, Wakanda is sure to blossom into a loyal and loving companion.    Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Story
Snap is a bundle of energy…until he’s not. He pretty quickly transforms into a lapdog cuddle-bug. He is a 2 year old Rat Terrier & has a lot of puppy in him & he has a big desire for you to tell him he is a good boy. He is a dog for the people, less so for dogs. Don’t get me wrong, he is friendly with most dogs, but he is a bully to others. To be specific, he turns into a ninja who talks a lot of crap he can’t back up when big…really big dogs are around. He has gotten more tolerant to being the smallest dog in the room and generally, pays more attention to me than he does any of the dogs. Snap is the kind of dog that will, with enthusiasm ,ride along with you in the car, follow your every step outside, and then come inside and curl up on the couch to watch a Lifetime movie. He’s down for any adventure but he will sleep in as long as you do.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Echo is a 4-month-old mixed breed puppy with the sweetest heart and a story that reminds us why rescue matters so much. He currently weighs about 10 pounds, and we expect him to be medium sized when fully grown. He has a gorgeous red-gold coat that is silky soft. Echo was found abandoned in a box in a grocery store parking lot, left behind after a botched attempt to crop his ears. We will never know why someone chose to torture this poor sweet puppy and leave him for dead, but thankfully Echo still adores people even after all he has been through. Today, Echo is fully healed, happy, and thriving. His ears are now a cosmetic difference only — he has no hearing loss or medical limitations because of them. What he does have is a bright future ahead and so much love to give. Echo loves people of all ages. He is currently being fostered with a child and three other dogs, where he has done wonderfully. He loves to play outdoors in the snow, and buries his face in the snow as much as he can. He is doing great on his potty training and crate training. He’s social, resilient, and has shown just how adaptable and trusting he is despite his rough start. This sweet boy would make a fantastic addition to a family looking for a young dog who’s already learning what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a home. Echo doesn’t let his past define him — he’s focused on toys, companionship, and being someone’s very good boy. He is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and he comes with her medical records and health certificate from a veterinary examination which certifies him to be in good condition. His adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee.
