Story
Sweet Anna is one of the girls from the "frozen litter" that was surrendered to rescue at 6 weeks old. We were allowed to spay her mom before returning to her family. Both parents are under 15lbs. She is a spunky little girl now looking for her own family. She has been completely vetted and microchipped. She is pee pad trained and just started house training. She will need a family that is will to continue to work with her training and understands puppies can be a lot of work. She will make a wonderful addition to any family. She is fostered in Knoxville TN, but transportation to a location near you is provided by Rescue Riders LLC and is included in the adoption fee.
We'll also keep you updated on Elsa's adoption status with email updates.

Story
When Violet’s owner suddenly passed away, her world was turned upside down. Her single elderly mom cared deeply for her and was they were constant companions. She was left in a place of deep uncertainty, unsure of what would happen to her. Sadly, the family she was left with showed her little attention or affection and simply wanted to pass her off to someone else. She languished for 5 months after the sad death and in that time she lost weight and became very depressed.  That’s when Critter Cavalry stepped in—to show Violet that she was wanted, valued, and loved. When she arrived, Violet was not only painfully thin and very scared. It seemed as though she hadn’t felt a kind hand or a gentle hug in quite some time, nor known the comfort of consistent care. Despite this heartbreaking start, Violet surprised us all. Day by day, she began to brighten—eating more than you’d ever think her little body could manage and slowly gaining the weight she so desperately needed. As she filled out, her personality began to emerge. With each passing day, she became more playful and curious. Violet is a quiet, gentle soul. She is a beautiful black and white Rat Terrier mix and weighs about 20 pounds.  While she often prefers to observe from a distance as the other pups roughhouse, she’s perfectly content to quietly coexist—snuggled up on the couch, soaking in calm companionship.Violet is learning how to live life again, rediscovering trust and comfort at her own pace. She would thrive with a calm, patient, and understanding family who can continue to show her what safety, kindness, and love truly mean. What a joy she could be for a retired couple or single woman who wants to be the center of Violet's adoration and love.  She deserves a resurrection in life and a solid promise of a forever place to live out her many years that she has ahead. Housebroken, non-destructive when home alone and good with other dogs and cats, this girl is a peaceful soul that will bring so much to your life.  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 14, 2026, 10:21 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Larry comes from our rescue partner down south and is now in NJ with a foster family!   Meet Larry, a 12-pound Rat Terrier mix who’s small in size but big in personality!    Larry’s journey started as a stray before landing in the shelter, and now he’s enjoying the comfort of a foster home while waiting for his forever family. He was a bit unsure at first (who wouldn’t be after all that change?), but this little guy has blossomed beautifully with love and patience.   Larry is settling in to his foster home in NJ.  He is very good with the small dogs in his foster home, but has been afraid of the larger dogs that he has met.  We were told that Larry loves other dogs and will happily bark to invite them to play, but we have not yet seen that behavior in NJ.   He DOES love his foster parents, and is a big cuddler who loves attention.   Larry must not have been socialized with children, because he's been very anxious around them.  We're working on that but we think he'd prefer a home without children as of now.   He quickly learned to use the doggy door, and seems to be housetrained.  He enjoys going for walks.   Smart, adaptable, and full of charm, Larry is ready to find a home that will appreciate his spunky spirit and affectionate heart.    If you’re looking for a lovable sidekick who will make you laugh and melt your heart every day, Larry might be your guy.    Larry is up to date on vaccines and treatment. He is already neutered and his adoption donation is $450.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to   wag-on-inn.com  . To apply, click   HERE   or on our website, go to Adoptable Pets and Adoption Application. A Wag On Inn volunteer will be in touch soon! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 14, 2026, 11:30 pm

Story
WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.NAME: RaiderBREED: Rat Terrier DOB: Jan 17, 2026 (9 weeks)GENDER: maleHome Recommendation: Raider would do best in a home that can provide a safe, structured, and loving environment. A puppy-proofed space, a consistent routine, and patience for training are important. An active home that can offer supervision, playtime, and positive reinforcement will help him grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.Personality: Raider is a playful and active pup with a super sweet personality. He loves spending his time playing with toys and having fun with his foster sister, always ready for a game or some excitement. His affectionate nature and playful energy make him a fun and loving companion who enjoys both activity and companionship.KIDS: YesDOGS: YesCATS: YesTraining: Raider is already wee wee pad and crate trained. He is currently working on basic puppy skills and leash exposure. He is learning household routines and will benefit from consistency, positive reinforcement, and continued practice. With patience and structure, he will continue to make great progress.WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Raider were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.Visit WiseAnimalRescue.org to fill out an adoption application.Adoption areas include: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.
