My name is Millie! I am about 6 to 7 years old and 14 lbs; with my big ears, I appear to be a Rat Terrier mix among a few other things. My foster mom and family say I am a really good little girl. I was found trotting along a country road all by myself. My finder drove up in their car and with a little cajoling, I decided it looked safe... safer than what I was dealing with! I am glad I took the plunge and hopped in because I seemed to have hit the foster jackpot. I am dog and people friendly. I am housebroken. I don't require a crate, but I may ask to sleep in your bed! I am good on leash and I love to go on walks. I can be playful but I really enjoy snuggling up next to her humans. I also love to lounge in the sun when it's available. I will let you know when I want to go out for fresh air and when my outdoor time has ended. I am going to make a great little companion! I have not met kids under 10 yet nor those felines! WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. She came from one of our partner rescues in Louisiana, and is now in a NJ foster home. Lillie can be shy at first with new people and dogs, but she gets over it quickly. She warmed up to her foster mom and dad, and is now very sweet with them and the other dogs. She will need someone who is willing to be patient and can give her a little time and TLC. It is worth the wait! Watching a dog blossom is a unique and amazing process. Lillie came off the transport to NJ and almost immediately is at home in her foster home. She enjoys using a doggie door to go in and out at will. She has been playing with the other dogs, and loves to run and chase and be chased. She has warmed up to kids (with treats). She came to us from our partner rescue in Louisiana and is now in a NJ foster home. Meet Hannah, a three-year old terrier mix with the biggest heart in a petite little body. This sweet girl came to the shelter with 2 tiny puppies- and she proved to be the best little mom you could imagine. Her babies have both found their forever homes, and now it's Hannah’s turn to live her best life. Hannah can be a bit cautious when meeting new people, but once she knows you're one of the good ones, she'll shower you with love. She settled in after a couple of hours in her NJ foster home, and immediately found the couch to relax on. She happily greets her foster mom, even when she's only been out of the room. Hannah is doing very well with the other dogs in her foster home, and she's been running around and playing with them - after some initial caution. Hannah enjoys going for walks.
