You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Online Adoption Application Maybelline came with her baby. Baby was adopted.  She is a quirky dog,  typical Jack Russell type,  she gets along with other dogs but needs a few days to get to like the new dog as she feels she is queen bee.   She is very active, loves running around and playing with toys and other dogs, not really great with cats or small animals,  typical rat terrier jack russell.  Would do great with other Jacks or Rat Terriers or alone as well but needs time to adjust to new surrounding. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 11:36 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Mr. Brown is overall, just a great dog. He is silly, laidback, but also playful. He really matches the energy of dogs he meets. We've seen him go from couch potato to zoomies in the yard, depending on the dog he is with. He is a confident dog. He's been overlooked for a while, even though he is quite small with long legs. He has a cute spiral tail and a faint brindle coat. It's hard to get pictures of his ears up since he's always smiling and wagging his tail. He came in from northern Louisiana with a female dog and 4 pups. He was very sweet with the pups and was very nurturing and loving  toward them. The pups have been adopted and Mr. Brown is hoping he'll be next! Mr. Brown is fixed, up to date on vaccines. Mr. Brown tested positive for heartworm and has begun treatment. We are looking for a foster to complete his treatment here in NJ with 2 visits to Barnegat Animal Clinic in June. His adoption fee will be $500.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training  prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving , committed home.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 20, 2026, 9:16 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Diego is a cute boy who is looking for a new home. Diego is currently with one of our sister rescues in Louisiana but will be heading to NJ on 5/30. Meet Diego Diego is a little guy at about 13 lbs and 3 yrs old. He is pretty easy-going but you can tell he is experiencing a lot of new things. He is overall doing well, adjusting to life from the shelter to foster care. He is in a home with younger kids, cats, and other dogs. He would make a great companion or family pet. His coloring is very unique. A true coat of many colors! He has the body shape of a rat terrier with longer legs but it's always hard to know for sure. He is a sweet little boy and would do well in a laid-back home.   Diego is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption donation is $450.  - Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Pepper, a darling little Rat Terrier mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of love just waiting to be shared. This sweet girl came to rescue after her owner could no longer care for her, and while that change was hard on her, Pepper’s loving personality still shines through every day. All she truly wants is a warm lap, a kind voice, and someone to remind her she’s safe and cherished.  Pepper can be a little nervous when meeting new people at first, but once she settles in, she becomes an affectionate, loyal companion who wants nothing more than to stay close to her favorite humans. She’s playful, goofy, intelligent, and eager to please, with just the right mix of cuddly lap dog and fun little sidekick.    She’s housetrained, crate trained, leash trained, and enjoys toys and playtime, but her favorite place will always be snuggled up beside her people. Pepper also gets along well with other dogs, making her a wonderful fit for many homes. Because she can be timid at first, she would do best with older, considerate children who can give her the patience and gentle reassurance she needs to build confidence.  Pepper was heartworm positive when she arrived in rescue, but she has successfully completed her treatment and is now ready to start the happy, healthy next chapter of her life. Pepper is fixed, microchipped and up to date on rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. Her adoption fee is $450. At around 19 pounds, Pepper is the perfect medium-small companion with a moderate energy level. She’d love a home where she can enjoy walks, cozy couch time, and plenty of affection from her people. Though she may start out shy, once Pepper trusts you, her sweet and loving personality blossoms beautifully.   Pepper’s perfect match is someone with a gentle heart who understands that the best relationships take a little patience at first. In return, she’ll give you unwavering loyalty, endless cuddles, and the kind of quiet companionship that makes a house truly feel like home. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training  prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 20, 2026, 9:16 pm
