She is housetrained, crate trained and gets along with other dogs but no cats please for this cutie. This little girl loves to run, play and is great on a leash and in the car.  Penny was picked up as a stray in South Jersey. Sadly, her family never came looking for her. When Penny was found, her right rear leg had already been removed. She hasn't shared with us what happened and that's OK because that part of her life is behind her, and it certainly doesn't hinder her in any way.  Look at her run and play here: https://www.facebook.com/711622587/videos/pcb.10164002676812588/4236660883244925 This little girl is ready to start a new chapter, one with a family that will love her FURever! Children in her new home should be 10 years old or older please. Penny is spayed, current on her shots and is microchipped. Baby was adopted.  She is a quirky dog,  typical Jack Russell type,  she gets along with other dogs but needs a few days to get to like the new dog as she feels she is queen bee.   She is very active, loves running around and playing with toys and other dogs, not really great with cats or small animals,  typical rat terrier jack russell.  Would do great with other Jacks or Rat Terriers or alone as well but needs time to adjust to new surrounding. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 10:44 pm

LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE $250 Imagine, if you can, a country girl version of Paris Hilton, and that would be OUR gal Paris! At only 6 months of age, she's blonde, a slim 35 pounds, and has long legs and beautiful eyes. Instead of strutting the catwalk, she's running through the woods and checking out nature. Paris is very approachable and loves everyone she meets, (humans and canines), so she'd happily pose for a photo and autograph. She would easily settle in to family or single life, but be advised that her lovely face and sweet personality may attract a lot of attention. (RM, 6/13/2024) LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE $250**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. Adoption fees for Hope dogs and those who have been at rescue for prolonged amounts of time are reduced to $150 plus a $100 transport fee, as notated in their listings.November 13, 2024, 3:08 pm

Story
Meet Brody, a.k.a. the beetle, He answers to both! He is a whopping 23 pounds and he is packed with all the love and affection you could ever want from a dog, Brody was found walking down a street in the middle of the country no houses in sight, When he came to us, he was so dehydrated And Emaciated His urine was dark brown. He weighed only 17 pounds. Brody loves To play ball more than any dog I have ever seen, He is kid, friendly, dog, friendly, cat, friendly, and once even got in the chicken coop and did not chase the chickens. He does very much so detest, frogs and snakes and if he sees them, he will alarm you that they are there. This can be very helpful if you live in the country. Some basic commands But they do need a little work. After we were sure he did not have a microchip. He was neutered given his shots and tested for Heartworms. Unfortunately, he was positive for heartworm. He has been Undergoing treatment and is coming to the end of this journey. Brody would love nothing more than to have a home with other dogs to play with or children to throw a ball. If you are interested in adopting Brody, please submit an application. Although he resides in Georgia, he would be happy to make his trip up north to find his forever home!

Story
Bailey (born 6/20/2015) is an 8-year-old, 14 pound, housebroken, Rat Terrier mix. Because Bailey came from an abuse situation, he has trust issues. If you want to adopt him, you would need to visit with Bailey a few times to become friends and gain his trust. The deal here is that Bailey needs to know you before he can trust you. Once Bailey knows you, he is a very affectionate and loyal friend, but he will also be protective – so he needs to know that you will be the one to protect him. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us. FOR AN APPLICATION, please visit http://humanesocietyny.org/adoptions/ and download then email your application to hsny.adopt@gmail.com. Our one and only location is: 306 East 59th Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenue) in Manhattan. If you'd like to sponsor Bailey, please email amk.hsny@verizon.net.
