Story
Chico is ready to travel to a community that will truly cherish him as a family member. He is currently in Oklahoma at our rescue. Because we want his transition to be as smooth as possible, we arrange direct-to-adopter transport to specific cities (listed below!). Adoptions are finalized in advance so that Chico can hop off the transport and right into your waiting arms. We stand by our pups for life—in the rare event it isn't a perfect match, Chico is never without a safety net; he will simply return to our care in Oklahoma on the next available transport until his perfect home is found. 🐾 Meet Chico: Your New Best Friend! Looking for a fun-sized partner with a giant personality? Meet Chico! This little guy is the definition of "happy-to-be-here." At just 5 months old (April 10), he’s a blank slate ready to learn the ropes of being your perfect companion. The Lowdown on Chico Chico and his brother found themselves in need of a new start when their previous owner could no longer care for them. They were being sold for $10 at a flea market. While we know his mom was a Rat Terrier, his dad is a bit of a mystery—but whatever the mix, the result is 100% adorable! Personality: Chico is a "typical puppy"—energetic, playful, and absolutely full of life. He wakes up with a wagging tail and is always ready for the next adventure. Social Life: He is a social butterfly! Chico loves making new human friends and gets along great with other dogs. Because of his young age and sweet nature, we expect him to do well with children and dog-savvy cats with proper introductions. Brain Power: This smart boy is already ahead of the curve! He is crate trained and keeps his space clean. He shows great signs of being housebroken, though he’ll appreciate a patient hand as he adjusts to a new routine. Ideal Home Chico would thrive in a home that embraces the "puppy life." He’ll need plenty of toys, some basic obedience training, and lots of zoomie time in the yard or on walks. If you’re looking for a loyal, medium-energy sidekick who will keep you smiling, Chico is your guy! Quick Stats: Weight: Currently ~20 lbs on April 10 (likely to stay smaller side of medium). House Habits: Crate trained; doing great with potty training! Ready to add a little spice to your life? Chico is waiting to meet you! Come see why this little Rat Terrier mix is the talk of the rescue. Video of Chico from April 10th: https://youtube.com/shorts/SwllpYBhgjY Health & Wellness Chico is a healthy boy and will arrive at his new home fully "vetted" and ready for a fresh start! His adoption includes: Fully Vetted: Chico is already neutered and up-to-date on all his essential vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP seriesx3, and Bordetella). Prevention: He has been dewormed and is kept on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Safety First: To ensure he is in tip-top shape for his new family, he will be microchipped and receive a fresh fecal exam and a certified Health Certificate—all performed within 10 days of his transport date. Adoption Details Chico’s adoption fee is $900. This fee is all-inclusive, covering his neuter, all veterinary care listed above, and his seat on a professional transport service dedicated to getting him safely to your area. Story
Imagine driving down a rural country road on the way to pickup groceries, when out of the brush comes 2 walking Halloween skeletons.  That is what  Benjamin and his partner Olive looked like when we took them home.  Benjamin is a sweet JRT mix that is about 2 years old and weighs 27 lbs. He loves to play and destuff all of his stuffed animals. When his energy runs out, he will snuggle next to you on the couch. He is a smart boy and will keep you on your toes. Benjamin is learning house manners and will stay in a crate. Benjamin walks well on a harness but beware of squirrels. Because of his high prey drive, absolutely no cats!!! A fenced yard is highly desirable but not a necessity. he can always go out on a leash but never off leash when not in  fenced yard .      If you love the energy and personality of a jack russell, then benjamin, we'll check all the boxes that you are looking for.  Please email critter cavalry rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.    please inform us where you live, city and state since we R based in Tennessee. But we do transport out of state to the northeastern corridor.      PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 10, 2026, 12:26 pm

Story
When Violet’s owner suddenly passed away, her world was turned upside down. Her single elderly mom cared deeply for her and was they were constant companions. She was left in a place of deep uncertainty, unsure of what would happen to her. Sadly, the family she was left with showed her little attention or affection and simply wanted to pass her off to someone else. She languished for 5 months after the sad death and in that time she lost weight and became very depressed.  That’s when Critter Cavalry stepped in—to show Violet that she was wanted, valued, and loved. When she arrived, Violet was not only painfully thin and very scared. It seemed as though she hadn’t felt a kind hand or a gentle hug in quite some time, nor known the comfort of consistent care. Despite this heartbreaking start, Violet surprised us all. Day by day, she began to brighten—eating more than you’d ever think her little body could manage and slowly gaining the weight she so desperately needed. As she filled out, her personality began to emerge. With each passing day, she became more playful and curious. Violet is a quiet, gentle soul. She is a beautiful black and white Rat Terrier mix and weighs about 20 pounds.  While she often prefers to observe from a distance as the other pups roughhouse, she’s perfectly content to quietly coexist—snuggled up on the couch, soaking in calm companionship.Violet is learning how to live life again, rediscovering trust and comfort at her own pace. She would thrive with a calm, patient, and understanding family who can continue to show her what safety, kindness, and love truly mean. What a joy she could be for a retired couple or single woman who wants to be the center of Violet's adoration and love.  She deserves a resurrection in life and a solid promise of a forever place to live out her many years that she has ahead. Housebroken, non-destructive when home alone and good with other dogs and cats, this girl is a peaceful soul that will bring so much to your life.  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 10, 2026, 12:26 pm

Story
Meet Morsel, a gentle young adult whose world hasn’t always been predictable—but who is steadily learning that love, safety, and comfort are real. Rescued from a hoarding situation, Morsel came into foster care unsure and overwhelmed. Today, she is making beautiful progress. While she still needs an understanding adopter, she’s gaining confidence more each day and showing just how capable she is of trust (and how much she wants to). She thrives on routine, has started to truly enjoy affection (often returning it with soft little kisses), and is beginning to settle into the rhythm of home life. Morsel is fully pee pad trained and is making steady progress with her leash skills, especially in quieter environments where she feels safe. She is crate trained but doesn’t need to be crated. She does well on car rides and is becoming more comfortable being picked up when needed. She’s not quite ready for a bustling, unpredictable world—but with patience and consistency, she continues to blossom. Other dogs are truly her safe place. Morsel is wonderful with dogs of all sizes, naturally submissive, and must have a confident canine companion in her adoptive home to help guide and reassure her. She looks to other dogs for cues and comfort—it’s essential for her continued growth. Because of her sensitive nature, Morsel would do best in a quieter household. Older, respectful children who understand the importance of giving her space would be most appropriate. Morsel also has an impressive (and important to note!) skill—she can climb chain link fencing like a little spider woman in the making. Because of this, she requires a securely fenced yard with privacy fencing to keep her safe while she continues building confidence. Her leash skills are still developing, so safe outdoor space is key right now. Morsel won’t be an instant, outgoing companion—but for the right person, she will be something even more meaningful. She is the kind of dog whose love is earned slowly, quietly, and deeply. And that kind of bond? It’s truly something special. If you believe in patience, in progress, and in the beauty of watching a dog come into her own, Morsel may be the one you’ve been waiting for.  Morsel is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to head home. www.mostlymuttz.org Link to Morsel’s bio: https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2641184&name=Morsel Morsel is in our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with the dog, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending. To get started, email meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information, and the dog’s foster or volunteer will be in touch. https://facebook.com/mostlymuttz PA Kennel License: 10872 PO Box 406 Gilbertsville, PA 19525 #mostlymuttzrescue #adoptabledogs #jrtlove ##2641184##

Story
Maya is a very cuddly easy going dog. She is generally very quiet and is not needy at all. She enjoys lounging around her people and is very food motivated. She also loves going on walks. She will bark at new people who enter the home but usually relaxes after a bit and enjoys pets/cuddles.Unfortunately she is not good with other dogs and can get very aggressive when she comes across one. This makes it very difficult to walk her and give her adequate exercise. Randomly she can be okay with other dogs and generally cohabitates okay with our older dog (with some bullying). We have a one year old child. Maya was uninterested during infant stage and is tolerant with pets/pokes now. We do not allow them to be close together without arms length supervision. We love this dog very much but we are going to have another baby and our older dog has more needs. We believe for everyone’s quality of life it is better to rehome Maya if we can find a good fit.
