Story
If you are in search of a loving, yet active little dog, then you have found just the right girl!  Bonnie is a young, one year old, 18 pound, Jack Russell who is spunky and happy and oh so cuddly.  She is the total package of smart, quick to learn, and easy to love.  Bonnie is a little shy when you first meet her, but we guarantee she will warm up fast. She loves to play with other dogs and pull out all the toys at the foster home. And what a cuddle bug she is who longs to be someone’s very special little girl.  She is still working on her house training, but is crate trained for short periods.  No, 8 hour long crate time will work for her.  As you can imagine with an active dog, a fenced in yard would work best.  Bonnie would also love to have her new family home most of the time because she loves her people.  We are recommending that she be with an active family as she loves to see new sights and is ready for travel adventures and car rides.  She is on the go and ready to love you!  Bonnie is your girl if you are checking all her boxes.  Please write to ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  Please mention where you live:  city and state.  She is currently in Nashville, Tn with Critter Cavalry Rescue and we transport to the northeast on weekend.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 11, 2025, 10:23 pm

Story
When you love the Jack Russell breed of dog then you try to find that pure love to adopt.  Well Clyde is a very sweet dog but yet he is the shy type that will be oh so loving of a boy that will make you feel like you the most special person in the world.  He is just a year old and 17 pounds and he loves to play with toys that squeak and crunch. He is an active Jack Russell breed that needs a fenced in yard so he can run around and play with others safely. When it comes to cuddles….we all love that with our dogs, Clyde gives you the best cuddles that results when you “sit” he wants to be in your lap.  We will admit that he is not totally house trained and so that is a work in progress. He is crate trained as long as not being left for long hours cause of his age.   He walks on a leash as amateur but worked with it. He loves to go for long walks and see new things.   When it comes to feeling secure with a family, he is Ok with children who are respectable and who want to give him gentle and loving hugs. The Jack Russell breed is an active and vibrant one of colorful moods and playful antics.  They can be loving and snuggly and then zooming around the backyard with the energy that you wish you still had in your body.  They are invigorating and challenging to kind of up your anty so to speak.  They can help  you be more determined every day to be more focused and productive.   We love the active dogs that bring a zest to the pace of life and an intelligence that will keep you thinking great thoughts and making great strides in life.  If you are interested in Clyde the Slyde… please email at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let us know where you live and a little more about yourself and why a JRT like Clyde is right up your alley!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 14, 2025, 8:28 pm

Story
We adopted Chili Pepper when she was a puppy, around 3 months old. She was brought over from Puerto Rico with her siblings and adopted out of NJ. She is now a 3.5 year old very sweet and lick-y dog, is afraid of the cows on the farm next to our house, and will hide under the bed from the vacuum. She’s not a picky eater and eats when you put her food down. She is crate trained and sleeps in it at night. Chili absolutely does not like the UPS driver and let’s the neighborhood know how she feels. Chili is very timid and nervous around new people so she needs someone who is willing to help her gain confidence in that area. We just had a new baby and the situation is very stressful for her. We think she’ll do better in a quieter house. She does adore our 8 and 9 year old kids and gets along very well with other dogs (once she has a chance to warm up).

Story
Adopt Jack : The 25lb Tornado of Joy!   Meet Jack — 6 years young, 25 pounds of pure muscle, chaos, and cuddles. Nicknamed  Jackass  (lovingly, we promise), this little guy is a one-dog comedy show with a high-jump that would make Olympic athletes jealous. Seriously, we’re not saying he’s part kangaroo, but we’ve never seen them in the same room…   Jack lives for walks, stuffed toys, and launching himself into the air like he just heard the treat bag open. He’s got the energy of a triple-shot espresso and the personality of that one friend who always ends up on the table at parties.   Important PSA: Jack takes his toys  very  seriously. Like, “not for sharing” seriously. So he’s not the best match for homes with small children who might try to borrow his prized squeaky dinosaur (RIP Squeaky #4).   But if you’re looking for a hilarious, loyal, and slightly dramatic sidekick who turns every day into an adventure —  Jack  is your guy.   Adopt him. You’ll never need a TV again. Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com to find out if jack is the right one for you! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US!  We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php and http://www.hollysden.com/say_no_to_shock.htm (scroll down and click on the  "Invisible Fencing Systems" link). We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 17, 2025, 10:14 pm

Story
Tail type -      Description             age: four months, weight: 13 pounds, adoption donation: $750.   Benjamin and his sisters  Bella Grace and Bella Marie are precious Jack Russell mixes who were born in mid February after their mother, Bella, was found as a stray. Poor Bella was discovered in an area in rural Mississippi known for dumping dogs, fortunately Wags took her in, but when shewas brought to the vet to be spayed, it was discovered she was pregnant, likely why she was dumped by her owners.    Bella had her puppies at the rescue and has been a wonderful mama to them! The pups loves to run and play and then snuggle up together in a puppy pile to nap. They are doing well house training, but like any puppies they will need to refresher course as they adjust to a new home.    Bella is about 15 pounds, we expect Bella Grace, Bella Marie, and Benjamin to be all under 20 pounds full grown.    The Puppies are arriving from Mississippi to their new foster homes in the northeast on Saturday, June 7. They will make wonderful family dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes! For more information on adopting any of our Wags dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com          Adoption donations are the only source of fundinJune 10, 2025, 7:10 am
