Story
If you're looking for littles you're in the right place! The "Designer Litter" is now 8 weeks old and just had their first round of vaccines. They are dog, cat, kid and squirrel friendly and working on house training.  Puppies this age need someone home more than not. Apartment living is just fine. Another playful little is recommended but not required. When you adopt from DSDA our contract comes with an addendum for the vaccines, boosters, microchip and spay neuter. We adopt locally to make it easy for adopters to get to and from our vet clinics located in Richardson.  To adopt a dog or pup from DSDA please go to our website at www.dsda.org/adopt for more details about our adoption process and submit our online application.    Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas.   ##1753542##

Syrah is an adorable 3 year old 26 pound mix of chihuahua and rat terrier (best guess).  She is great with other dogs and older kiddos are just fine, too. She's house, leash and crate trained and will make an excellent companion for apartment living or a home with a fenced yard as well.  To meet Syrah please go to our website at www.dsda.org/adopt for more details about our adoption process and submit our online application.    Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. Story
Hudson is a 3 year old, 9 lb Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. He is a tiny, adorable dog with a huge personality that will keep you laughing all the time! He loves to play with other dogs and is always the first to make friends when new fosters come into the house. He can hold his own with big dogs and little dogs alike. His favorite activity is running zoomies, and he will run so hard and fast down the hall that he bounces off the wall...but he hops right back up and is ready for more. He also loves to explore the backyard and find the perfect stick or hunt down those annoying cicadas! Hudson doesn't live with kids, but we think he would be ok with kids ages 10 and over. Kids will need to understand that Hudson is not the type of dog to be chased or picked up. Hudson is cuddly and loves to snuggle at night, but prefers it on his own terms. He doesn't love being picked up...it scares him a little...but he is getting more used to it. Having other dogs around is a must for him as it gives him confidence and someone whose lead he can follow. He is housetrained with a dog door but is probably going to mark at first, so if that's a huge deal to you, he's not your dog (remember, he's tiny so the clean-up is negligible). Bring a smile to your face every day - take Hudson home with you! You can apply at www.humanetomorrow.org, and an adoption counselor will contact you.
